I was on the edge of my sit the entire time wanting to know how situation at the beginning of the book played out. I kept reaching for this book, from the beginning I was able to figure out who did it but I think the fun of this story is discovering the why and how.

Wow-Jaime Lynn is back 👏👏

Her books are insanely easy to fly through, but insanely hard to predict! The curve balls in this one were CRAZY!

I think I have whiplash from these characters and THEIR DOUBLES LIVES!

Even the ending has me second guessing everything I thought I knew about everything!!

Can't wait for more Jaime 👏👏

The narrator was amazing! I'd definitely recommend this book in audiobook format!

Quick, entertaining thriller.

Kim is deep in debt and works as a server at a country club. Her dog needs surgery, but she cannot scrape together enough money for it. She received an offer from "The Stranger"--put a drug into a certain guest's drink in order to kill him and she will receive a large amount of money. When the man arrives and Kim discovers the man she's supposed to kill is her high school boyfriend Tony, she doesn't know what to do. This sets off a tumultuous chain of events leaving someone dead--but who? And why?

This was a twisty ride! It is extremely fast paced, I listened to the audiobook in one afternoon. I did piece together some of it, but the overall story is what is worth it, not just the ultimate whodunit. It's not a believable story in any way, shape, or form, but it is still absolutely popcorn-worthy entertainment. These characters are completely unhinged, and you won't believe what schemes they come up with and how they choose to have those schemes play out. They do many decisions that no intelligent person would: (view spoiler) yet I was still drawn to the drama.

If you're in the mood for a quick summer read, this one is a perfect choice.

What are the odds that your intended target's fiancee dies on the night you are meant to take him out? Was it an accident or did someone target her like you targeted him?

This one was fun. It was wild and slightly unbelievable, but really really fun! Revenge with a capital R is definitely the key player in this book. And I am here for it!

Thank you HighBridge Audio and NetGalley for an advance listen of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Their Double Lives was a fun, twisty novel of revenge! It was very suspenseful and I'm glad that it ended in a way I totally didn't see coming. The element of surprise makes the story even more fascinating and sets it apart.

However, there was also some fluffy parts added in that would ruin my engagement with the story. There were too many introspective thoughts and not enough action happening for my tastes.

The narration was well done and gave the story a light and airy feel, instead of dark and heavy as most thrillers tend to be.

Jaime Lynn Hendricks's Their Double Lives (audiobook) plunges listeners into a high-stakes thriller where a desperate woman's chance at salvation turns into a nightmarish murder investigation. Kim Valva, a struggling waitress at an exclusive New Jersey country club, is at rock bottom: a cheating boyfriend, a nonexistent social life, and a beloved dog in need of unaffordable, life-saving surgery. Her luck seems to shift when "The Stranger" offers an irresistible proposition: slip a pill into a new member's drink, and the resulting death will solve all her financial woes.

The target, however, turns out to be none other than Tony Fiore, Kim's bad-boy ex from high school, now a cleaned-up multi-millionaire named Anthony Fuller, accompanied by his gorgeous fiancée, twenty-two-year-old PJ Walsh. Stunned by the reunion, Kim can't bring herself to go through with the poisoning. But then, in a horrifying twist, PJ dies at the table just as dinner concludes.

Kim is left reeling. Was someone else at the club, a member or a worker, tasked with poisoning PJ, just as she was instructed to poison Tony? Who would want both of them dead? With no one to trust and "The Stranger" demanding answers, Kim is forced to peel back layers of deceit, uncovering a deeply buried truth far more shocking than she could ever have imagined. This gripping novel is a tangled web of lies, betrayals, and unexpected turns, perfect for listeners who crave suspense and a protagonist fighting for her life amidst a deadly conspiracy.

Their Double Lives by Jaime Lynn Hendricks

4 out of 5 stars

Everyone here knows that my dog, Luna, is my reading buddy and best friend. She’s a happy go-lucky pup that loves long walks, delicious food, and the occasional ball (except you can’t have it to throw for her). I’d love to say she’s also super smart – like majority of her breed – but she doesn’t have much going on behind those ears. Regardless, if Luna needed lifesaving surgery that I could not afford, I might do exactly what Kim Valva does.

Kim Valva is a waitress at a country club that is going through it! Her boyfriend cheated on her, her social life is a disaster, and her goldendoodle, Murphy, needs surgery. One day she gets a package that could turn her luck around. A mysterious figure, calling themselves The Stranger, makes an offer she can’t refuse: put a pill in a new member’s drink and when he dies, she will have enough money to save Murphy. Unbeknownst to her, the target is her high school ex, Tony Fiore, and he’s with his fiancée, PJ Walsh. Kim couldn’t go through with it and vowed to find another way to help Murphy. Except, by the end of the evening, PJ is the one who ends up dead.

I loved this game of cat and mouse and raced to the last page (by speeding up the audiobook). This book has it all: entertainment, comedy, murder, and so many twists your head will be spinning. Hendricks writes a well thought out premise through multiple POVs that draw you in for such a wild and addictive ride. I was fortunate enough to be provided with an ALC copy narrated by Emma Love, who does an AMAZING job! If you enjoy audiobooks, I highly recommend getting this one!

You expect a sassy and even mysterious offering from Hendricks and this did not disappoint. There were The Last Mrs. Parrish vibes for sure. I listened to this audio version all in one day. The narrator portrayed the characters well.
This is great for anyone wanting to get lost in a book with characters you might not love in the end, but you crave to see justice done. It seemed to pave the way for a future sequel. I'll be there for it.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARL. All opinions are mine.

PJ is out for revenge, Tony is in the midst of a transformation, and Kim wants to save her dogs life.

So many unexpected twists throughout the whole book. I din't know where the plot was going or what role each of the characters played until the book neared its end. I couldn't stop listening to the audio book because I needed to know what happened. There are so many suspects with strong motives, and then there's the question of who could be next?

Jamie Lynn Hendricks has created an entertaining, page-turning mystery.

Holy cow! So much deceit, who’s murdering who 🤪 This was an easy and fun read. Yes, yes there’s all sorts of devious stuff happening, but humor mixed in as well.

Diabolical!

If you asked for one word to describe this book, that’s it!
It pulls you in from the get go, and never releases you until the very last line!

Kim is working at a Country Club serving the Uber wealthy… while SHE is down on her luck, with a sick dog 🐾 to boot. She’s trying desperately to figure out a way to raise some money to help her dog, when she gets a random call/note: Do this one thing and all your money problems will go away!

But really, can it be that simple?

When the time comes and she’s supposed to do this ‘thing’, she freezes… and ultimately cannot go through with it.

But then, the tables turn, and the sh*t hits the proverbial fan!!

Kim’s now looking over her shoulder, afraid that someone is after her now too!

This one is a total nail biter that will keep you on the edge of your seat the whole time… probably with full time palpitations!!

#TheirDoubleLives by #JaimeLynnHendricks and narrated beautifully by #EmmaLove.

Kim Valva needs money for her dog’s surgery. So, when she is contacted by the Stranger, she agrees to slip poison into the food of one of the patrons of the country club where she works. The intended victim turns out to be a former lover who is now using an assumed name. However, before Kim can carry out the plan, the target’s hot, young fiancé falls over dead, thus bringing in the police and thwarting Kim’s plan. That is the first chapter. The rest of the book explains how and why the characters (plus some other really unpleasant people) came together on this evening.

What struck me about this book (other than its improbable and overwrought plot) was how amazingly willing the characters were to murder each other (and with weak motives). Despite the fact that I didn’t believe a word of this, the book did hold my interest and entertained me. It was short and crisply written and the narrator of the audio book did a good job. 3.5 stars

I received a free copy of this audio book from the publisher.

Man was this book a fun revenge book. This book is a fun interictally intertwined book that will have you second guessing what is actually going on. I was hooked on what was happening and the amount of plot twists and turns was great. The audio was done so well. Emma Love was able to give two separate voices that were identifiable for each POV. I thought she did a great job bringing this revenge plot to life.

I picked this book mostly because of the cover, and I’m so glad I did. Listening to it with my bestie Danielle made it way more fun. We kept talking about the different characters and how the story jumped around in time. It was really cool how they showed things from so many points of view without making it confusing or heavy.

The whole thing was kind of addictive. Like, once we started, we didn’t want to stop because we had to know what was going to happen next. But even with all the different timelines and voices, it didn’t feel like too much or super complicated. It just worked really well.

And the ending? We had no clue where it was going. It wasn’t what we expected at all, and that made it even better. We just sat there like, “Whoa, didn’t see that coming.” It’s the kind of ending that sticks with you after you finish.

If you want a story that’s interesting and keeps you hooked without feeling like a huge brain workout, this is definitely one to check out. I’m really glad I listened to it with Danielle because we had so much fun guessing what was going to happen and talking about it after.
