I absolutely loved this one. The audio was top notch and the production was fantastic. The narrator really encompassed Kim's character so well and sounded exactly how I imagined she would.
I don't know if I have ever read a thriller book where I related so much to the underlying plotline.
Kim takes a murder for hire job in order to earn money to provide her dog with the surgery he needs to live. Because obviously, same. Something goes wrong, and the wrong person ends up dead, and now Kim fears that whoever hired her is now after her.
This book kept me hooked from beginning to end. It is told in a few POV's. We get Kim and her failed murder attempt, but we also get the POV of the actual victim, and that storyline is so dark and twisted and intertwined with Kim's story. We also got a few chapters from Kim's target.
It had a few plot twists, but the reader mostly knew what was going on behind the scenes before some of the characters due to the POVs, and it was so fun to watch it play out.
I have been a fan of all of this author's books that I have read so far, and this one is no different. I would recommend it to all thriller lovers.

In Their Double Lives, Jaime Lynn Hendricks delivers a jaw-dropping psychological thriller where nothing and no one is what they seem. Think you know someone? Think again.
Twisty. Fast-paced. Impossible to stop listening to! I finished this in one sitting! I had to know the ending! And the narrator did a fantastic job! Especially with the voice of PJ
Y'all add this to your summer thriller stack! You won't sleep until you've reached the end!

The narration was perfect. It’s one of those audiobooks that you can playing out in your head and it takes someone truly talented for this to happen. One of my fav audios for the year.

(3.5/5)
Their Double Lives is a well-structured, twisty thriller with interwoven plotlines that kept me engaged throughout. I really appreciated the contrast in class dynamics—it added an extra layer of tension to the revenge arcs.
That said, the premise of poisoning someone to save your dog felt a little unrealistic to me. And I love my pets, but that motivation stretched believability. I did see some of the twists coming, but not enough to ruin the experience or keep me from finishing.

Their Double Lives by Jaime Lynn Hendricks is a creative and twisty thriller. This is such an excellent thriller, with intricately woven details, multi POV, and dual timeline. There are layers of lies and deceit that will keep you guessing and intrigued the entire read.
I could not put this story down. It was a propulsive read from the beginning, and the unlikeable characters (one female in particular) were absolutely delightful to read.
I highly recommend this story. It’s such a satisfying read from beginning to end. Kudos Jaime Lynn Hendricks!
I listened to the audiobook version of this story, which was incredibly well done by a single narrator. While I like having different narrators for different POVs, I was not disappointed because the narrator did an excellent job. I listened at 1.5x speed (my normal audiobook listening speed is 1.5-1.75x speed).
Thank you NetGalley and HighBridge Audio for this advanced listening copy.

Just how far are you willing to go to save your dog? For a struggling waitress named Kim, she has to decide whether or not she'd slip something lethal into a stranger's drink in exchange for the life-saving payout. This only gets more complicated when that stranger turns out to be her ex.
In short, this was a fun and fast-paced thriller. No one is telling the truth, and the characters are just as twisted as the plot. The audiobook production was great and the narrator did an excellent job. It was the perfect companion for my commute and one I have already recommended to others in need of a solid, diverting thriller.

Kim is a waitress at an elite and exclusive New Jersey country club. Her live in boyfriend was cheating on her and left her at their apartment, with all of their formerly mutual bills. AND her sweet dog, the only thing keeping her sane in the moment, needs life saving surgery Kim simply cannot afford.
Then, sort of a miracle. The Stranger offers to give her money in exchange for a deed. The deed? Put something in someone's drink at her job. When that someone dies, she gets the money.
The target is none other than her bad boy high school sweetheart, Tony. He's got a new name and he is in the millionaire club. Tony, now Anthony, shows up to the club with pretty young PJ on his arm, his 22 year old fiance and is seated in Kim's section. Seeing who the target is gives Kim pause, and Kim decides she just can't do it. Then PJ keels over dead.
Thinking the ordeal is over somehow, Kim quickly realizes The Stranger still requires her to complete her task.
This book was pretty wild. It was twisty and I did not guess the outcome. The first twist came so quickly my head was reeling. I felt for Kim. She was just so down on her luck and trying to do the best she could in terrible financial circumstances and she was so torn by her options, none of which seemed great. It's like when you are down, and life keeps on kicking you.
Definitely worth a read. I look forward to more from this author. Narration was excellent. I have no complaints!

Really good. The audiobook definitely helped me get into it more but I was hooked from the first chapter. I couldn’t figure out what was going on. Highly recommend love Jaime Lynn Hendricks! Thank you NetGalley for this arc

I found this book to be an enjoyable read. The story kept me engaged from start to finish and had some moments that really stood out. Overall, it offered an entertaining reading experience.

This book was messed up in all the right ways! Everyone was playing everyone. I enjoyed the narration and listened in one sitting! The twists and turns were interesting and I was invested from start to finish!

They say revenge is a dish best served cold, or is it sweet? Necessity and revenge can be a deadly combination. In this story, everyone is hiding something, some more than others. Secrets and deception combined with a desire for retribution prove to be dangerous. Numerous unexpected twists and shady characters make this an intriguing tale where the line between victim and villain is blurry. The narrator brilliantly brings the characters to life adding suspense and intensity. Thank you, NetGalley and HighBridge Audio for my audiobook.

This is not as twisty as I would have liked - saw a lot of ir coming but enjoyed the pacing and the tying up at the end. Glad I waited for it! Very good narration.

Thank you to Highbridge Audio for an ALC of this novel. Here are my thoughts!
Kim is a waitress working at a fancy country club when she finds herself thrown in to a crazy situation. Her dog is sick and a stranger offers her money to poison and kill someone. Desperate, she has to take this into consideration to save her pup. She heads to work with the intention to poison and she realizes it’s her ex-boyfriend and she hesitates. But then his fiancée PJ drops dead. Clearly there is more going on than Kim realizes, and she’s in for a ride!
I loved listening to this thriller. Emma Love knocks the narration out of the park, especially for PJ’s parts. It was the perfect sassy narration that fit her character perfectly. It often had me laughing out loud. I enjoyed the way the story unravelled with multiple POVs and just the level of complexity in these crimes.
There were so many twists with a fairly small cast. The drama just kept being thrown on the fire until everything just blew up. The final resolution was satisfying and unexpected. I found it hard to put this one down as it was just so fun to listen to. Perfect for summer truly!
The charcters didn’t feel like the stereotypical rich country club people but they were all more complicated than that. They all had some good and bad to them, but most of them I disliked but I enjoyed disliking them.
This is a great summer time thriller that is quick but so so fun! Can’t recommend it enough.

Jaime Lynn Hendricks is one of my favorites, and she proves why yet again with Their Double Lives, a fun, entertaining, and twisty read that I got through in one sitting. It started with a bang and was fast-paced the entire way through, keeping me on my toes guessing what in the world was going on with these people. Morally grey characters get me every time. I mean, I would do anything for my dogs also, so Kim I could relate to, but these other folks? They were just crazy. HA! The audio for this was excellent as well. I really enjoyed reading it this way. I thoroughly enjoyed this one and absolutely recommend it.
Thank you to Scarlet Suspense and Highbridge Audio for the copies to review.

Really liked the narration and different point of views. Lots of character that are easy to dislike and the suspense is top notch !

I loved how this audiobook grabbed my attention from the beginning. Great suspense and mystery was created early on that made for a compelling and interesting listening experience.
The narration made it easy to follow the story as the narrator did such a good job creating distinctly different voices for each character.
Loved how this was a fresh feeling thriller with a unique setting and storyline. I’ve read a lot of thrillers lately that all seem very similar in plot, setting and characters. Their Double Lives is definitely a must read for the thriller genre, great premise, intriguing characters and a plot that is well executed with some fun twists and a satisfying ending.

I really enjoyed Their Double Lives. The story is engaging with well developed characters, and Hendricks does a great job balancing suspense and emotional depth. The narration adds an extra layer of intensity, keeping me hooked from start to finish. My only minor quibble is that some plot twists felt a bit predictable, but overall, it’s a solid listen that I’d recommend to fans of thrillers with a psychological edge. Definitely worth a try if you're into character driven mysteries!

This book was very enthralling, I couldn't wait to see what happened next and who was behind all the evil plots., Nice work!

This was a quick easy to read, thriller with a lot of twists and turns. it had me engaged all the way through and I read it very quickly,. There were dual timelines, but I found it to be a little confusing. Sometimes I had a hard time keeping the timeline straight. There were so many twists that it felt overwhelming at times and not everything was clearly explained which with disappointing. I felt that the narrator did a really good job, especially considering she had multiple POV’s to narrate. Overall, I would say is the middle of the road thriller that I enjoyed while reading, but it left me with some questions.

I have read a couple of Jaime Lynn Hendricks' books and enjoyed them very much. This one is my favorite. It begins with a waitress at a country club who has trouble making ends meet. She also has a sick pup whom she adores. She needs money for the pup's surgery. She is approached by a mysterious man on the phone who offers her money if she slips something into one of the guests' drinks. To complicate things, the guest is an ex of hers. I listened to this nail-biter in one day. The writing was sharp, and the narration was well done.
