A country club murder plot, biting class commentary, and enough twists to keep you flipping pages—Their Double Lives is a darkly fun ride. Jaime Lynn Hendricks dishes up drama with a sharp edge, skewering the wealthy elite while pulling you into a world of secrets, scandals, and plans to poison cocktails.
Kim, a down-on-her-luck waitress, gets offered a pile of cash to poison a club member—who just happens to be her ex. From there, things spiral deliciously out of control. The twists are juicy (even if I saw the stranger reveal coming), and the satire hits just right!
If you like thrillers that know how to smirk while being sinister, this one’s for you.

This was a fun, quick and entertaining read. I will say that I didn’t connect well with the characters, and the plot motivation seemed to strain credibility. This was a bit of a distraction at times, but over all I did enjoy the book.
I paired the audio and print versions, and really enjoyed this type of immersive reading. The audio production was very well done.
My thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book.

Jaime Lynn Hendricks is a new auto buy author for me. I was so excited to get an advance copy of the audiobook of this one. It is a terrific mystery/thriller - the perfect summer read!
Kim is a graphic designer who works as a waitress at a country club to make extra money. Her dog needs a life-saving procedure, and Kim is in a bind. She receives a mystery call for a job - put a pill into a customer’s drink, and her financial troubles will be resolved. But when she recognizes the target and things go in another direction, Kim has herself a situation.
This thriller is fun! The reader is given multiple POVs. The author keeps us off balance throughout the story. There are flashbacks, but you will never be lost. The writing is tight, with no fluff. It truly is the perfect summer thriller.
Thank you to NetGalley and HighBridge Audio for the opportunity to listen to this one! Emma Love does a phenomenal job narrating this one. It is out now, and I highly recommend it!

The character development in this story was fantastic. All the different POV's and different time frames had me trying to put all the pieces together and by the end I was shocked. This was an easy, fact-paced story that kept me hooked throughout its entirety. Revenge was taken to a whole new level and I loved every second of it.

This was a great thriller! I was definitely on the edge of my seat waiting to see what would happen. I think this would make the perfect #summerread or #beachread I really loved the use of dual timelines and multiple POVs.
There are so many layers to this story - I can’t tell you anything specific about the plot, but I can say I highly recommend going in blind! There are some really interesting and horribly behaved characters. There are also some great twists and turns and this book kept me guessing until the end.
I was immediately rooting for Kim - I get it, I love my animals and would do almost anything for them. But when she is asked by a stranger to poison a member of the country club she works at, she finds herself in the middle of something she doesn’t understand. She is shocked to find out the member is her old high school boyfriend and she just can’t go through with it…but someone still dies that day…

Amazingly written, Jaime Lynn Hendricks knows how to hook and pull her readers straight into a wild and crazy ride.
This is a very good mystery as the suspense builds until you can't turn the pages fast enough.

I was on the edge of my sit the entire time wanting to know how situation at the beginning of the book played out. I kept reaching for this book, from the beginning I was able to figure out who did it but I think the fun of this story is discovering the why and how.

Thank you to High Bridge Audio or the gifted audibook!
Wow-Jaime Lynn is back 👏👏
Her books are insanely easy to fly through, but insanely hard to predict! The curve balls in this one were CRAZY!
I think I have whiplash from these characters and THEIR DOUBLES LIVES!
Even the ending has me second guessing everything I thought I knew about everything!!
Can't wait for more Jaime 👏👏
The narrator was amazing! I'd definitely recommend this book in audiobook format!

Quick, entertaining thriller.
Kim is deep in debt and works as a server at a country club. Her dog needs surgery, but she cannot scrape together enough money for it. She received an offer from "The Stranger"--put a drug into a certain guest's drink in order to kill him and she will receive a large amount of money. When the man arrives and Kim discovers the man she's supposed to kill is her high school boyfriend Tony, she doesn't know what to do. This sets off a tumultuous chain of events leaving someone dead--but who? And why?
This was a twisty ride! It is extremely fast paced, I listened to the audiobook in one afternoon. I did piece together some of it, but the overall story is what is worth it, not just the ultimate whodunit. It's not a believable story in any way, shape, or form, but it is still absolutely popcorn-worthy entertainment. These characters are completely unhinged, and you won't believe what schemes they come up with and how they choose to have those schemes play out. They do many decisions that no intelligent person would: (view spoiler) yet I was still drawn to the drama.
If you're in the mood for a quick summer read, this one is a perfect choice.

What are the odds that your intended target's fiancee dies on the night you are meant to take him out? Was it an accident or did someone target her like you targeted him?
This one was fun. It was wild and slightly unbelievable, but really really fun! Revenge with a capital R is definitely the key player in this book. And I am here for it!
Thank you HighBridge Audio and NetGalley for an advance listen of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Their Double Lives was a fun, twisty novel of revenge! It was very suspenseful and I'm glad that it ended in a way I totally didn't see coming. The element of surprise makes the story even more fascinating and sets it apart.
However, there was also some fluffy parts added in that would ruin my engagement with the story. There were too many introspective thoughts and not enough action happening for my tastes.
The narration was well done and gave the story a light and airy feel, instead of dark and heavy as most thrillers tend to be.

Jaime Lynn Hendricks's Their Double Lives (audiobook) plunges listeners into a high-stakes thriller where a desperate woman's chance at salvation turns into a nightmarish murder investigation. Kim Valva, a struggling waitress at an exclusive New Jersey country club, is at rock bottom: a cheating boyfriend, a nonexistent social life, and a beloved dog in need of unaffordable, life-saving surgery. Her luck seems to shift when "The Stranger" offers an irresistible proposition: slip a pill into a new member's drink, and the resulting death will solve all her financial woes.
The target, however, turns out to be none other than Tony Fiore, Kim's bad-boy ex from high school, now a cleaned-up multi-millionaire named Anthony Fuller, accompanied by his gorgeous fiancée, twenty-two-year-old PJ Walsh. Stunned by the reunion, Kim can't bring herself to go through with the poisoning. But then, in a horrifying twist, PJ dies at the table just as dinner concludes.
Kim is left reeling. Was someone else at the club, a member or a worker, tasked with poisoning PJ, just as she was instructed to poison Tony? Who would want both of them dead? With no one to trust and "The Stranger" demanding answers, Kim is forced to peel back layers of deceit, uncovering a deeply buried truth far more shocking than she could ever have imagined. This gripping novel is a tangled web of lies, betrayals, and unexpected turns, perfect for listeners who crave suspense and a protagonist fighting for her life amidst a deadly conspiracy.

Everyone here knows that my dog, Luna, is my reading buddy and best friend. She’s a happy go-lucky pup that loves long walks, delicious food, and the occasional ball (except you can’t have it to throw for her). I’d love to say she’s also super smart – like majority of her breed – but she doesn’t have much going on behind those ears. Regardless, if Luna needed lifesaving surgery that I could not afford, I might do exactly what Kim Valva does.
Kim Valva is a waitress at a country club that is going through it! Her boyfriend cheated on her, her social life is a disaster, and her goldendoodle, Murphy, needs surgery. One day she gets a package that could turn her luck around. A mysterious figure, calling themselves The Stranger, makes an offer she can’t refuse: put a pill in a new member’s drink and when he dies, she will have enough money to save Murphy. Unbeknownst to her, the target is her high school ex, Tony Fiore, and he’s with his fiancée, PJ Walsh. Kim couldn’t go through with it and vowed to find another way to help Murphy. Except, by the end of the evening, PJ is the one who ends up dead.
I loved this game of cat and mouse and raced to the last page (by speeding up the audiobook). This book has it all: entertainment, comedy, murder, and so many twists your head will be spinning. Hendricks writes a well thought out premise through multiple POVs that draw you in for such a wild and addictive ride. I was fortunate enough to be provided with an ALC copy narrated by Emma Love, who does an AMAZING job! If you enjoy audiobooks, I highly recommend getting this one!
Thank you to Netgalley and HighBridge Audio for my ALC!

Great listen. Hard to put down. Well written and also great narration.loved the surprises and twists the author put in.

You expect a sassy and even mysterious offering from Hendricks and this did not disappoint. There were The Last Mrs. Parrish vibes for sure. I listened to this audio version all in one day. The narrator portrayed the characters well.
This is great for anyone wanting to get lost in a book with characters you might not love in the end, but you crave to see justice done. It seemed to pave the way for a future sequel. I'll be there for it.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARL. All opinions are mine.

Really great! Great narrating! I loved the twists and turns! Also the last line of the book is AMAZING!!
