I really enjoyed reading this comic rendition of the chapter book Mr Lemoncello's Library Olympics. The illustrations are colorful and successfully follow the story. The little remarks from Mr Lemoncello are very funny and the whole book does a good job of teaching readers about dewey and some library and general history.

Thank you Random House Children's Books, Random House Graphic, and NetGalley for the advanced electronic review copy of this book. This is a second graphic novel adaptation of the beloved Mr. Lemoncello series and it was as fabulous as the first one! A never ending adventure and a gift to readers everywhere, shining with power of reading and importance of books and libraries. Can’t wait to share it with my students and hoping for another graphic novel adaptation volume.

As a school librarian, I'm always looking for graphic novels that would be a valuable addition to our school collection. When I requested this ARC, I hadn't read the original novels or Volume 1 of the graphic novel. While it was relatively easy to get acquainted with the characters, I do recommend having some background knowledge before diving into this volume. Some graphic novels can be enjoyed as stand-alones, but this one is not among them.

The plot was easy to follow and engaging. However, I have some concerns about the characters' behaviors throughout the story. We are living in a time when characters portrayed as snotty or unlikable can be viewed negatively by today's parents. I am definitely going back to read Volume 1 before deciding whether to add it to our collection.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this advanced reader copy.

Another fantastic addition to the already amazing collection of Mr. Lemoncello. The graphic novel follows the original novel well giving access to the story to another type of reader.

Kyle and his friends are challenged by people around the country who say they could have escaped the library even faster. Mr. Lemoncello creates a library Olympics to test kids from different regions to see who truly has the skills but as things go awry, he seemingly gives up to Charles Chitlington's mother so Kyle and his friends have to fight to keep the library from being taken over.

I've read the chapter books and now read my first graphic novel of this series. I loved the illustrations and think kids will too. I'm glad the see the story stayed the same in the graphic novel. Will definitely be adding these to my students bookshelf.

I love when traditional novels are adapted to graphic novels. This one was no different. It is so fun to see Mr. Lemoncello live on through more students. I loved the Library Olympics so much because it was also super informative about why libraries are important and the importance of learning how a library works.

Yet another knock out hit with the 9 year old in my life just as much as the 11 and 12 year old students in my classroom. I'll have to get a physical copy or 3 as this already has a wait list.

I am a long-time fan of the Lemoncello series, and I have enjoyed seeing it reimagined in graphic novel form. The original Lemoncello books are very visual and contain a lot of descriptions of the library's contents that the graphic novels do a great job recreating. I also think they help young readers understand some of the references that may go over their heads in the texts.

Mr. Lemoncello's Library Olympics is the second book in the series and it brings Kyle and most of his friends from the first book back into the exciting world of Mr. Lemoncello's library games. This time, they are competing against library lovers from around the country who all want their shot at playing.

As the competition goes along, strange things are happening. Is someone trying to sabotage the contest? Why are books disappearing from the shelves?

This story has a good message about the importance of not banning books, and it's a fun adventure.

Get ready for another round of ingenious puzzles and library magic in Chris Grabenstein's Mr. Lemoncello's Library Olympics: The Graphic Novel! Without giving anything away, this adaptation delivers all the charm, wit, and brain-teasing fun that fans have come to expect from the Lemoncello series, now brought to vivid life through compelling illustrations.

This graphic novel is a whirlwind of clever challenges and unexpected twists. The story centers on a high-stakes competition within the fantastical confines of Mr. Lemoncello's extraordinary library. Readers will be captivated as the characters navigate intricate games and riddles, each more imaginative than the last, all designed to test their knowledge, teamwork, and critical thinking.

The transition to a graphic novel format is handled brilliantly. The artwork perfectly complements Grabenstein's imaginative world, making the library's whimsical contraptions and the characters' expressions truly pop off the page. The visual storytelling enhances the fast-paced nature of the "Olympics," allowing readers to easily follow the rapid-fire deductions and adventurous pursuits.

What makes this book so enjoyable is its emphasis on the joy of learning and the power of collaboration. It celebrates literacy and problem-solving in a way that is both entertaining and inspiring. You'll find yourself rooting for the contestants as they face surprising obstacles and work together (or sometimes against each other) to achieve their goals.

If you love puzzles, mysteries, and the excitement of a grand competition, Mr. Lemoncello's Library Olympics: The Graphic Novel is a must-read. It's a delightful, spoiler-free journey that will challenge your mind and warm your heart, proving once again that libraries are anything but boring!

Having not read the original versions of the books, but always looking for safe graphic novels for my library, I wanted to give this one a try. I just never had a good feeling through the entire book. All of the kids had bad attitudes, and were rather cutthroat (I DO understand this is a competition, but there are parts that are rather underhanded) and I just didn't enjoy it at all. It now makes me wonder if I should read the originals and if those same bad attitudes are reflected in there, pull them from my library. I want our kids to be reading uplifting, encouraging things that make them better members of society rather than learning how to tear each other down with attitudes. :-(

My son read this. He is eleven. He said that he would read it again. He likes the Lemoncello books and graphic novels, so this is a good combination. He liked that it encouraged people to continue reading and going back to the library. At one point, it encouraged team work and not trying to hog the ball and do it yourself. It emphasized letting other people get involved with their ideas.
Recommended.

Thank you to NetGalley for our chance to preview this book.

As an elementary school librarian I am always looking for books that will interest the "non" reader. Graphic novels are great for this.

I can't wait to get book 1 and 2 for the library, I know it will be a hit for many of our young readers.

Thank you netgalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
