This review is so over due. It was on my kindle and it went forgotten for too long. I've always like Jessica Scott and her military romances, which is the reason why I asked to review this title to start with.

Once I started to read Homefront I realized I have missed some earlier books in the series, so I felt lost at times but was able to stay on point enough to keep going. I can't imagine the after effects of war has on the soldier himself and the family. For Gale, he was young and married when he signed up and the military took his toll on his family causing a divorce. Now that he's back on US soil and close to his family he wants things to be different. However, that is a large hill to climb.

Mel has always loved Gale but her daughter came first so when Gale barrels back in to their lives it throws things for a curve ball. She has never stopped loving Gale but life has pushed them in different directions. Their daughter is currently acting out and she needs a break and Gale needs to step and start to parent. This situation has driven these two back in the same vortex.

I liked these two together and loved to see them work through their struggles. I adore the military romances because the effects on military people aren't easy and Jessica does a great job at creating the realness of these situations and how it effects personal relationships.

Homefront was a sweet second chance romance, glad I got the chance to read this sweet story.

Thanks for an ARC to read and give my honest opinion.

I know it's been years since this book was released but I'm slowly going through my TBR pile and finishing old books that I was supposed to review. Better late than never....right?
This was a really sweet second chance military romance. Gale returns to Ft Hood, TX to be closer to his little girl and his ex wife. There's a lot of baggage between himself and his ex Melanie. His chance to be closer to his daughter and get a good look at teenage angst open his eyes to the drama his ex has been through. Showing a united front he works to heal both his girls hearts. Four beautiful stars of entertainment! Really enjoyed such a passionate read.

Beautiful cover, and the blurb definitely caught my eye.
