Book Six in this series (the British publishers just about to come out with #8, so there's a wait for American fans to get the next pair) is a Halloween one. Arthur is really doubting the chance of him enjoying the spooky fair in town, but gets dressed as a mummy anyway (after a bit of accidental magic from Maggie that makes him look like *her* mummy). Once again there's a lively story, with these all being decent chapter books, and once again the moral is kind of thrust onto things as a last-minute judgement call. But I still think this is a four star read – the Halloween is not as stereotypical and beggy as in the bulk of stories set that time of year; there is hubris for some characters there to be less than likeable; and in amongst all the talk of bravery and being scared a couple of little twists and turns to make it all worthwhile.

I received an advance reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review via netgalley and the publishers.
Maggie Sparks and the Fang-tastic Fairground is the 6th book in the Maggie Sparks series and a perfect addition for autumn/spooky season coming up.
Maggie is excited as it's Halloween. She's getting to go trick-or-treating with her best friend Arthur and fun at the fair afterwards.
Arthur is scared of all things spooky and very hesitant to go trick-or-treating. Maggie convinces him and has a hiccup with her magic, creating Arthur's mummy costume, and the pair get a fright at the fair.
This was another fun and mischievous addition to the series, and as always, the illustrations had me giggling away throughout the story. I can't wait to see what adventures the pair will get up to next.

Another great Maggie Sparks book. Some Halloween magic to give my little one a giggle. This is the third book we’ve read in the series. Love them

Another hit addition to the Maggie Sparks series! My kids and I love following all of her magical antics through each book! This one is a perfect Halloween read for the fall season, and got us in the spooky spirit!
Thank you NetGalley and North Star editions for my ARC in exchange for my honest feedback!

We love this series, all the volumes so far. The themes always have a creative fun plot tewuat, and Maggie is not always a perfect character. Perfect for Halloween. Well-written, great size and awesome illustrations that the kids can replicate.

My girls (age 7 and 10) love the Maggie Sparks series and this was another fun adventure. It was easy for them to read and as big Halloween fans, they loved the more spooky theme of this story.

BLUF: Just the sweetest story about bravery, friendship, and not jumping to conclusions!

Perfect Halloween treat for little readers to dip their tiny toes into the "horror" genre - entirely age-appropriate, with a dash of spooky, a sprinkle of creepy, and plenty of smiles!
"A's:" Review:^
I could read all of this all by myself and I wasn't scared at all!
"I can't wait to read this at Halloween! Can I be Maggie for Halloween this year??"
"C's" Review:*
There was one scene that was a little scary for me, but I was brave and only hide behind Mommy once when she was reading this to me! I loved the fun costumes and the Halloween party they go to! I love Halloween and asked Mommy to read this again right away!
Dad's Review:

Kids’ opinions are wholly accurate yet paraphrase, but I will call out their direct quotes.

Maggie Sparks and the Fang-tastic Fairground is a great addition to the Maggie Sparks series. This book is great for independent readers, it includes some illustrations. The story follow a witch (Maggie) and her best friend (Arthur) on her favorite day of the year Halloween.

I received an electronic ARC from North Star Editions through NetGalley.
Maggie and Arthur's adventures continue on Halloween. Maggie loves this holiday as she gets to be herself and not hide that she is a witch. The Halloween Fair is a huge event and she and Arthur have an amazing time until they spy on and trail their teacher. Maggie doesn't realize Arthur is not with her until she flees from Miss Raven who is dressed as a vampire. I love that Arthur rescues Maggie from her fears and learns he has been brave all the time. The hints for the next adventure sound interesting. Readers will love the connections to their own lives with a little magic thrown in.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This series is so cute and fun! This book was a great addition to the series and was a fun read. Kids will love this book.

Funny, clever, and magically Halloween. Maggie and Arthur are a fun pair, balancing each other's personalities. Family dynamics felt natural, even the tense moments.
This is perfect for young readers around 8 years old. There's a good vocabulary built into the books with inconspicuous definitions and uses.
Overall a very solid exciting read. The illustrations are adorable with fun details. Sketch style really matches the theme, too. Definitely a book I'm reccing to friends, especially young girls into witchy things.
Thanks to NetGalley, Jolly Fish Press, and Steve Stallman for an advanced copy in exchange for am honest review.

Maggie Sparks and the Fang-tastic Fairground was a very fun and quick Halloween read. I think it is a must for any child who enjoys Halloween and has previous knowledge of spooky topics. I loved the storyline of Arthur facing his fears and Maggie realizing that she might not be as brave as she thought. The story was well paced and ends with a bit of mystery with Ms. Raven not showing up in any photographs. I highly recommend.

Maggie Spark is a kid witch. She doesn’t always know how to use her magic, which she isn’t supposed to practice without asking permission, anyway. But does that stop her? No, it doesn’t.
In this book, the sixth in the series, Maggie is all excited about the faire that is going to be held at Halloween, plus she gets to go trick-or-treating. Arthur, her best friend, is terrified about the spooky things that come out at Halloween, but he tries to be brave, nonetheless.
I love how light these early chapter books are. In this one, besides being excited about Halloween, the kids are also convinced that their teacher is a vampire, and that there are real monsters out there. And then, they come upon Maggie’s grandfather chatting to a real ghost, zombie and werewolf.
Light, quick reads. I’m sure kids will love to see what Maggie gets up to now.
Thanks to Netgalley for making this book available for an honest review. This book is being published the 1st of August.

Spooky, sweet, and full of Halloween magic!
A charming early chapter book with just the right mix of fun and fright. Maggie’s bold personality and magical mischief make her an irresistible character, and her mission to make Halloween less scary for her friend Arthur is both heartwarming and hilarious. Great for readers who love a little mystery, a little magic, and a whole lot of Halloween fun!
