I really wanted to love this and I think the right reader will EAT THIS UP sadly it just wasnt for me
What I loved: feminism...multiple povs...drama....romance

I haven't read any regency romance and I think this was a perfect starter book for it! It felt like an easy transition in my head. I have read many it Emily Rath's books and had no doubt I would enjoy it but I really loved it! Regency era drama is so fun to read. The cliffhanger will definitely get you so have the next book ready to go!

emily rath is an auto buy author for me and beautiful things just proves why. this was so well written, so good, so cute, so deep. i loved every minute.

I really enjoyed this! Its a slow burn forbidden romance set in a historical setting. Writing was good and kept me interested! I would definitely recommend!
Thank you to Netgally and the publisher for the opportunity to review this ARC.

I thought if anyone could get me on board the historical romance bus it’d be Emily Rath! I adore the whole Pucking Around Series. Unfortunately I think this just isn’t the genre for me. This story was easy to read, so if you need a palette cleansing book and you’re in a real Bridgerton buzz definitely pick this up!

I usually really enjoy Emily Rath’s books, but this one wasn’t my favorite. I did love the setting, Bridgerton vibes that was easy to get into. But overall, I just didn’t connect with the characters as much as I hoped, and that made it harder for me to stay fully invested in the story.

I actually had no idea what I was getting myself into when I requested this book. While I am primarily a contemp romance girl- this regency romance was an amazing surprise! I thoroughly enjoyed this and cant wait to read the rest of the seres!

4⭐, 3.25🌶️
So excited to have FINALLY read this book! I started reading Emily's books with her hockey series, and always knew about her why cooose regency romance, but never picked it up. Until now! This book doesn't end in an HEA for the squad, but it itroduces all the characters and starts up the romance for the group and the individual relationshps with Rosalie.
At times I found myself more invested, and others I was just distracted away from the story, so it wasn't a 5star for that reason. Im excited to read the net two books of the trilogy especcially with that cliffhanger ending!
Thank you NetGalley and Kensington Publishing for an eARC of this book in exchange for my honest review!

Consider me officially in my historical romance era! ✨ I loved everything about this book. I just hope the boyfriends becomes boyfriends in book 2! ♥️

The vibes were so fun!
Beautiful Things is a book of all vibes and all spice in this renaissance world of dukes, lords and knights. Our FMC comes into this world penniless and finds herself in the clutches of falling for three different men in her life. This why choose novel is an easy, bingable read that will be the best palette cleanser to try when you need a lighter and spicier book.
While this book is fun, it does not end with a HEA, and book two will continue to story of our characters dealing with their lives at court and their love for each other.
It only had a very brief plot, but if you are looking for something easy and mindless, this is the story for you.

A regency why choose? Say less. Beautiful things does a BEAUTIFUL job painting the scenes, Countrysides, and characters. It is a slow burn, combined with the propriety of the era so it does take about 50% for anything physical to happen. Book 1 ends on a large cliffhanger with several important things coming to a head at once.

"Beautiful Things" is a remarkable addition to the Regency romance genre, showcasing Emily Rath's talent for storytelling.
The characters are well-crafted, each with their own distinct personalities and motivations. Rosalie, the protagonist, is particularly compelling as she defies societal norms and explores her desires. Alcott, the backdrop of the story, is described with such detail that it feels like a character in its own right. The gardens and corridors create an immersive atmosphere that enhances the reading experience. The romance unfolds gradually, allowing for a build-up of tension that is both satisfying and realistic. The dynamics between Rosalie and her suitors are intriguing, adding layers to the narrative. Rath's prose is sharp and engaging, filled with humor and clever dialogue that keeps the reader entertained. The pacing is mostly well-handled, though there are moments where the plot feels slightly disjointed. "Beautiful Things" is a delightful read that combines romance, wit, and a touch of rebellion. It’s a must-read for fans of historical romance looking for something fresh and captivating.

A why choose romance set in a regency period, sign me up! With sizzling tension and a slow burn that has me anticipating the explosive passion I surely know is coming, characters that grab my attention from their first introduction and a plot that has me eagerly flipping pages, Beautiful Things is a must read.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | Beautiful Things by Emily Rath
Okay, let me just say—Emily Rath knows exactly how to write a story that eats me alive in the best possible way. From page one, I was sucked into this world and didn’t want to crawl back out. The characters? Perfection. Each one brought something so different to the table, which is why I will always, always be weak for a why choose romance. I loved watching the push and pull, the messy emotions, the undeniable attraction—it made every interaction feel electric.
The pacing was fantastic; there were moments that had me giggling, others that made me swoon, and then the kind that leave you clutching the book going “no, no, no” because you have to know what happens next. Rath balances the spice with the feels so well that I was either blushing or aching for these characters in nearly every chapter.
And that ending?! Absolute chaos in the best way. I turned the last page and just sat there, wide-eyed, muttering to myself about how unfair it is that book 2 isn’t in my hands right this second. It’s one of those cliffhangers that doesn’t just leave you hanging—it makes you desperate.
Beautiful Things is messy, magnetic, and absolutely unforgettable. If you’re in the mood for a romance that’s going to make you feel everything all at once, this is the one.

Beautiful Things is a witty, playful Regency romance with a fresh twist. Rosalie Harrow is clever, stubborn, and not at all interested in being caged by marriage, which makes her stand out at the bustling house party at Alcott Hall.
The setup is chaotic and fun, with scheming matrons, ambitious debutantes, and three very different men competing for Rosalie’s attention. James, Renley, and Burke each add their own spark, and the banter and tension kept me hooked.
Emily Rath blends humor, slow burn romance, and just the right amount of spice. The book is a little long in parts, but the vibrant characters and charm of the romance carried me through.

Beautiful Things is a delightful, witty romance full of charm, humor, and high-society antics. Emily Rath crafts a headstrong heroine in Rosalie, whose cleverness and independence make her impossible not to root for. The love triangle—scratch that, love quadrangle—is playful and keeps the pages turning with anticipation. Light, engaging, and full of sparkle, this is a perfect escape into Regency-era romance.

I really enjoyed this book! I was originally intrigued by the Bridgeton vibes and then couldn’t put the book down because I loved the characters so much. The way they talk is so much more polite than some of the morally grey men I usually read about 😂
I really loved the pacing and storytelling. I felt like Emily did an amazing job of writing Rosalie and how head strong and independent she was. I liked how she stood up for herself and others and I especially loved her relationship with Madeline. I don’t read to many books from this era but I’m thinking I may have to because I LOVED it.
The men were just so hot. I think Tom Renley was my favourite. I loved his storyline and getting to know him better. Each man brought something different to the relationship which made this book so much fun to read.

Thank you so much @hambright for this arc

Thank you Hambright PR for the ARC and thank you Emily for doing an Instagram live with me to talk about this book!
Ok, I am not usually a historical romance girlie but I was freaking HOOKED on this one. Emily has such a way of pulling you into her stories, and I was not expecting to love a why choose historical romance but I am ALL FREAKING FOR IT. It was hot, steamy, swoony, with just the right amount of regency and humor that at times I forgot it was historical. The slow burn had me fully invested.
I also loved Rosalie, not looking for love but trying to avoid being poor, and then these men? It was chaotic, fun, and just so entertaining. The ending is a cliffhanger and I am immediately preordering the second book with the new covers, which are stunning.

A why choose historical romance isn't something I'd typically go after but I really enjoyed this book. The Jane Austen/Bridgerton vibes is what initially drew me in. I didn't mind the slow burn because it was done so well that I didn't get bored at all.
Rosalie is 22 and needs to find a husband or work. She finds herself at a party where everyone is looking to catch the eye of the Duke where she finds herself interested in 3 different men. I find myself laughing throughout this book and I didn't want to put this down.
A big thanks to Netgalley and Kensington publishing for the e-arc in exchange for my honest review
