The plot was good however I found this book to be pretty predictable. Maybe for a reader who's new to reading psychological thrillers this book would be a good intro but it just felt like I knew what was coming most of the way.

I received this free eARC novel from NetGalley. This is my honest review.

This has been on my TBR pile for so long, and I'm glad I finally got around to it. I really enjoyed the storyline and seeing the characters change throughout the story was a great character development. The plot was great and kept my attention. I'm glad I got the chance to read this and will be on the lookout for more in the future!

I did not end up finishing Damage Done by Amanda Panitch, and will not be writing a review. The premise sounded great, and the early reviews I saw indicated it would be in the same vein as some of my favorite YA mysteries (Dangerous Girls), but I've come to realize that maybe unreliable narrators aren't my kind of character.

I have to question if the category Children’s Fiction is appropriate for this book. Is it a YA thriller? The teen characters and especially the narrator/protagonist had the limited perspectives of children. I did like the first half of the book, which explained Lucy’s situation pretty well. The second half seemed convoluted and less believable, and for this reviewer, left too many conveniently overlooked explanations to be completely rewarding. Still, YA readers will likely rare this one 4 or 5 stars.

The book did not really work for me. I DNF'ed it. I wasn’t able to connect with any of the many characters in the book and I found myself putting down the book a lot because it was never really catching my attention.

Excellent story! I totally recommend. This is one of the few books that you want to send to someone.

Before Lucy was Julia. Julia had a twin brother who liked to kill animals. Before Julia had a boyfriend and a best friend. After her brother killed them all in the band room, Julia survived and her brother shot himself and is in a coma.

Trying to live a new life as Lucy Black, Julia finds a new friend in Alane, and starts having feelings for Michael. When it seems like her life might actually go somewhere, Julia begins to notice someone following her around, and she’s convinced its her brother’s former psychiatrist. Confronting him, she learns the horrible truth, her brother has woken up from his coma and has some interesting things to say.

Someone compared this one to Gone Girl and I would have to say that the unlikeable/untrustworthy narrator and the suspenseful plot make that a pretty true comparison. A really fun wicked read!
