This audiobook was FANTASTIC! The narrators truly brought this book to life and added so much depth to the story and the characters. Listening to this on audio was like going on adventure!

A really fantastic audiobook - this was my first Elizabeth Stephens book and I really enjoyed her take on a superhero universe and she did a great job building up the world and side characters alongside our FMC/MMC. The audio narration was also excellent, capturing the essence of the characters really well.

I already read this book once with my eyeballs and truly the story is 5 stars. Pretty sure the narration elevates it to 10 stars! Dara Brown and Sean Bassett both do a fantastic job. The first six or so chapters are read by Dara and when Sean finally comes in with Roland’s POV…words cannot describe. 🔥🔥🔥 I had so much fun both times I read it and absolutely cannot wait for more!

My review of the book:
I have devoured everything Elizabeth Stephens has written and this book was no different! I was hooked from the very first page. I loved the twist on the superhero theme and that Roland wasn't all "hero" or all "villain". My favorite trope is quickly becoming I'm only soft/good for or because of her and Elizabeth is the queen at giving that to us! I also appreciate that Vanessa was able to be a shy and slightly awkward FMC wasn't relegated into the role of 'strong, uber independent, Black corporate woman'. I also loved that the side characters had a feeling of being fully formed. I wanted more of them because I loved them so much! I NEEED Marjorie and Charlie to have their own novela or something because I need them to end up together. Speaking of Marjorie, there is fantastic representation in this book, of all kinds, and it doesn't feel like the author is just checking off a diversity checklist. You can tell that the representation she chose for this book was intentional, but in a way that feels like it's the way she sees the world and as a way to honor those communities. I absolutely need more in this series and we all need more books like this from authors like Elizabeth!

The audiobook was amazing too! The narrators did an amazing job and only enhanced the storytelling with their narration and really brought the characters to life. I also enjoyed that the narrators felt age appropriate and clearly represented the characters they were narrating for.

I am DNF this book at 60%. I was enjoying this book. In it we have a woman who runs a PR firm. In her version of earth 49 alien children crashed on earth years ago. They look human, but they all have special powers. It is decades later and some of these kids are villains and some are heroes and everyone lives in a “super” society. The heroes want to bring on one of the 49 named Pyro because of his ability to control and be fire. Now please be aware. These are no longer kids. They’re all in their 30s, but Pyro, because of incidents while he was a teenager, isn’t a villain or a hero. He’s just kind of not anywhere and has a bad reputation. The PR firm is hired to make Pyro into the superhero the world needs. It’s a very well-done story, mostly. As mentioned previously, I was thoroughly enjoying this story, but then we get to the spice. This is where things go downhill. Throughout the story, we are reminded that our main character is fragile. She has social anxiety. Even though she runs a PR firm, she lets other people talk for her. She doesn’t like to be touched. She doesn’t like to be around men. There is a history of child abuse from her father before her adopted family. She’s in her 30s, but she still has this trauma, sees therapist, etc. This gets odd because even though she is this socially anxious and scared individual she takes on the Lois Lane clause. It seems so far out in left field but OK I’ll get into that. When you get the first full on spicy scene that is what took me out of the story. The scene itself was fine if it was in any other book, but here you have an overbearing male, shoving his thumb in her mouth, soaking, “I’m not going to FU” but… It’s the manhandling and how the woman reads as completely into it, when this is a woman who can’t normally stand to be touched or around people. The whole thing just took me completely out of the story and no matter how much I try I have no desire to go back to it. It’s like it’s two different characters. I know this book is getting a lot of great things said about it, and it’s a best seller, and other TikTokers love it. Good for them. I loved most of this and if they would’ve left the spicy scene out, I probably would think this is fantastic read. But that first spicy scene did not match the rest of the book. That’s my biggest complaint. It doesn’t match the rest of the book which is cozy and sweet. It is grumpy sunshine. The guy’s kind of a dick, but it’s just so impossible. Not the aliens, not the sci-fi, not the superheroes. The spice seemed implausible, and it took me completely out of the book. So, this book is a DNF at 60%

omg the audiobook! Woo. Listen, I've read audiobooks for a minute and usually I do one or the other - read a book with my eyes or my ears. This time, I did both and I get it. The experience of taking it in simultaneously is unparalleled. The narrators were SO good and it was just as good as the first time I read this delightful book 1. Cannot WAIT for book 2. Can't believe I have to hold out until November!

Elizabeth is and has been an auto buy author and this is exactly why. She delivers. This romcom that starts out like a little work romance, with a little don't like each other to love you down forever where he falls first and HARD but is actually a superhero monster romance? Delightful!! There's a splash of some very spicy spice but it's the way he will do anything for her and the way she shines because she knows she's safe that really does it for me.

“He’s a villain looking for a hero rebrand. She’s the marketing genius who can make it happen.”

This monster romance between Vanessa and Roland was a fun time! Roland is immediately obsessed with Vanessa and will do anything to make her happy.

I enjoyed the story and am intrigued where the series might go from here.

My main complaints were about the insta-love elements and how possessive Roland was immediately. I know some people love that but it’s not really my favorite dynamic.

Get ready for a swoonworthy sci-fi, romcom in All Supheroes Need PR! It was scrumdidlyumptious, I want to experience it all over again. The narrators did an amazing job of bringing these characters to life. It is dual style narration, so the chapters alternate.

The existence of ‘superbeings’ had only been discovered within the last twenty years, after they fell to earth. Known as the 48, these gifted beings had been categorized into villains and superheroes. Vanessa Theriot is a PR director who is tasked with rebranding the image of a former supervillain who is now ‘switching sides’. However part of the deal in making Roland Casteel a hero involves Vanessa playing the role of his fake girlfriend.

This book had the perfect balance of romance, wit and humour. It also deals with some sensitive themes as well so do check the content/trigger warnings beforehand. I just need to say Roland Casteel is BOOK HUSBAND material! This man starts off a bit standoffish towards girl Vanessa but something shifts and then he is SO DOWN BAD for her which you’ll get to experience first hand from his POV.

I was very intrigued by this change and had a couple of theories flying through my mind as to why there was this immense connection between the two. Vanessa is a little hesitant about the fake dating but comes around to play her part. She is a bit of an introvert and has really bad social anxiety but her confidence improves and she comes out of her shell as the story goes on. Vanessa has a great support system in the form of her colleagues which are also her friends as well as her adoptive family. They were a great addition to the cast of characters.

Elizabeth did an amazing job of weaving diversity in this novel, ranging from ethnicity to gender, we need more authors creating stories where everyone can see themselves in the characters they are reading about!

I cannot wait for more from this series ☺️

I first read Elizabeth Stephen's alien romance and as a Marvel fan was excited to see a superhero romance coming. It took me two tries to get into this book but when it captured me I couldn't put it down. I can't wait for the next one. The male narrator did his thing, with the mood changed and deeper, lower voice to indicate anger.

I absolutely loved this book! The narrators were awesome and brought it all together. The characters, story, and plot stay with you even after finishing the book. I loved that the story was a fresh take on a superhero/paranormal romance book. Congratulations to the author on yet another fantastic novel .

Thank you to NetGalley and the author for letting me review this audiobook!

I haven't read or engaged with many superhero movies/stories/comics/books, but this was a fun way to engage with that world through romance. I appreciated the diverse cast of characters as well as the character and plot development.
Narration was superb, and I look forward to more books in the series.

This was a fun, new twist on paranormal romance - superheroes! The slow-burn romance paired with the intrigue and suspense of learning more about the world and planets the heroes and villains came from propelled me through this book at lightning speed. The relationships felt genuine and heartfelt, going into the backstory of each main character. I'm anxiously awaiting the next installment!

3.5 rounded up.
I went into this blind based almost purely on the cover and based on that and the first 25% ish i thought it was a super hero rom com. Then WHAM all of a sudden we have a crazy mystery, a complex interplanetary plot, and monster / alien porn.
Not to say that I didn't still eat it up, I was totally hooked for the plot, but the romance had me wishy washy. I loved them together most of the time, but I didn't like his way of easing her into intimacy involving light choking out the gate, and some minor dom/sub play. It just felt too rushed given what we were learning about her past and her anxiety.

Thank you to Netgalley and Montlake for this ARC (I actually have the audiobook ARC and bought the paperback, and alternated between the two).

This is such a fun book! From the banter between Rollo and Nessa, to the relationship with her brothers, to the endearing inner thoughts Rollo has - major touch her and die vibes, you'll have a great time with this one. I like how Stephens approaches a classic superhero vs villains world in a different way, giving a nod to one of the most famous alien-human relationships to ever exist.

One of my favorite things about the book is how Nessa may have come from a traumatic background, but she's loved by everyone around her and is overall lovable, even by skateboard kids (loved that part!).

I can't wait to read the sequel and see where this world goes. What shenanigans will Nessa and Rollo get into next?

Decent book with a good premise. I loved that the characters are all very diverse and well fleshed out. The relationship was okay, it wasn't my favorite. I just couldn't see them together. The book does come with a significant Trigger List that I don't actually remember seeing before jumping in the book. I would advise looking at the whole list before going into this one since I know some of these TW are intense.

The flow of the book I think is where I struggled. The writing has potential but the plot felt like 3 books that was forced into one book. The book was constantly jumping from one thing to another and it made the book a little confusing.

I also hated the spice. There was too much and I didn't like the way they were written.

We need more books like All Superheroes Need PR. This was such a fun and unique read and I would like 100 more like these! Elizabeth Stephens did such a fun job of capturing such a captivating story and I flew through it. The audiobook was also phenomenal, and the cover was the first thing that stood out to me. We are being intentional about making sure this book is available in our bookstore!

Touch her and die
Who did this to you?!
Grumpy growling superhero
Workplace
Spicy
"good girl"
Alien hormones

Have you watched "the boys"?! I totally got those bad ass vibes from this! Alien superheroes+ a bad ass relatable FMC. Rolo aka the wyvern 🫠 had me in a puddle multiple times. I was laughing out loud on multiple occasions.

And the side characters!! Loved them all so much I hope this turns into a series. There was loads of representation in this book as well. Definitely a favorite of the month!

Thank you to Brilliance for the ALC/arc

Soooooooooo how do I explain All Superheroes Need PR? If you took I Am Number Four by Pittacus Lore, Renegades by Marissa Meyer, and the smuttiest monster romance by CM Nascosta rolled all into one. Remember that scene from Breaking Dawn where Edward didn’t want to hurt Bella during sexy time and then it fades to black? This one does not fade to black AT ALL and he ROCKS her world with his super hero 🐓! 💅🏻 And it was GOOOOOOOD!

If you need more reason to pick it up, that isn’t smutty and or sexy at all, there is fighting and superhero activities that also happen. Her life is threatened and he goes all touch her and die. But I also find that super sexy, sooo…!!!

Thank you to Montlake Publishing and NetGalley for my ALC.

ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS!

I had received an audio arc from the author Elizabeth Stephens via NetGalley, the audio was perfection!

Superhero romance is a new to me combo but it worked so well. Loved the world and all the characters.
Sprinkling of omegaverse vibes at the end sent me screaming.

Loved the banter between Vanessa and Roland. Always great to read a relatable FMC. Roland’s (MMC) perspective was priceless. His inner monologues had me kicking my feet with how immediately obsessed he was.

All Superheroes Need PR by Elizabeth Stephens has very quickly become one of my favorite books I have read this year.

Broody, cold Superhero Roland Casteel (AKA the Pyro) becomes obsessed with his new Shy PR director Vanessa Theriot immediately upon meeting her, and it's decided that to change his image, she will become his Lois Lane.

This book truly has everything that I love in a book, fated mates, fake dating, a beautiful monster man, and the most fantastic spicy scenes.

I can't wait for the future books in this series and have loved every second I spent in this world.

This book had me giggling, gasping, and falling to the floor (especially whenever Sean Bassett spoke in this audiobook)

Both narrators were fantastic, and I would relisten to this audiobook over again in a heartbeat.

Thank you so much Brilliance Publishing & Brilliance Audio for an opportunity to listen to this alc!
