All Superheroes Need PR is a sci-fi/paranormal romance set in our current world. With a premise that is slightly similar to Superman's origins, we have 48 young superbeings who fell to Earth and were eventually split into heroes and villains. The world adapted and there are now organizations behind each group. Roland AKA the Pyro is a free agent—he is neither with the heroes, nor with the villains. Needless to say, both sides are bidding for the Pyro. It was expected that the Pyro would choose the villain side because he has a very...hotheaded reputation, but he surprises everyone by siding with the heroes.

That's where our shy heroine with social anxiety (relatable), PR director Vanessa, comes in. Her company has been hired to rebrand Roland's image—basically, to turn him into a hero. And of course, there's a Lois Lane clause in the contract, and Vanessa gets chosen to play Roland's very own Lois Lane and fake date him for PR purposes.

It was a bit difficult to situate myself in the setting for the first two chapters, but I quickly adapted to the worldbuilding, which reminded me a lot of The Flash (TV show) and The Incredibles. The organizational level of heroes vs. villains also reminded me a lot of Despicable Me, where the heroes and villains have their own organizations and hierarchies. In addition to the cool worldbuilding, we have a big cast of diverse supporting characters who are all placed in strategic roles to propel the plot and the romance forward.

I honestly had so much fun listening to this book on audio. The story has the perfect balance of romance, comedy, supernatural shenanigans, and mysterious overarching plot. It was really easy to lose myself in the world and get swept away by the characters. The romance is insta-love, with a dash of fated mates, and it is pretty fast-paced, but to be honest, it works out really well based on the context and the characters themselves. The fated mates aspect was executed in a different and unexpected way, compared to other paranormal romances. My absolute favourite part though is the final act. The climax is fast-paced and exciting with lots of action and revelations that answer the reader's lingering questions—everything you'd expect from a superhero movie. The ending is a perfect HEA for Roland and Vanessa, but it also leaves room for future plot development and love stories. Listening to this book truly felt like I was watching a superhero movie.

I can't end my review without talking about the superb audiobook narration! Both the female and male narrators were exceptional and sounded exactly like how Vanessa and Roland were described. Special shoutout to Dara Brown! Her voice for every single character is so distinct that I could tell right away who was speaking even if their name was not mentioned right away! Mind-blowing!

Elizabeth Stephens creates another brilliant and chaotic story with endearing characters. Vanessa is a shy but sweet PR manager trying to win the bid of an exclusive contract for the world's newest potential superhero. She's anxious and reserved but also surprisingly fierce. She loves her found family and is content with the life she has.

Until Roland, or the Pyro, enters the boardroom. Roland is incredibly uninterested in everything...until her. And the story takes flight from there.

The audiobook is absolutely amazing. Dara Brown and Sean Bassett did a phenomenal job bringing these characters to life

This book was so good - I straight up devoured it!! This is story is funny and engaging and emotional and was just so freaking fun to read! I have been a fan of the author since I read her omegaverse books and was so excited for this book. I thought the premise was unique and interesting and I loved the idea of a superhero who was in need of a PR makeover.

Vanessa and Roland have amazing chemistry!! From their first meeting together there is no question these two have an intense connection…but it’s not all smooth sailing at all!!!

I loved Vanessa!! As a fellow introvert with anxiety, I thought she was so relatable and easy to root for. Oh Roland…when we meet him he is this intense Pyro who was brooding and a bit of a jerk…but there is so much more to him!

He ends up all in for Vanessa!! He’s protective and possessive and has quite the mouth on him 😉 Both of these characters have some great character growth and I loved Vanessa’s family.

The audio was great! This was my first audio book narrated by Dara and she did an amazing job with the voices and the emotions. Sean was amazing in the epilogue - it is a must listen!!!! 🔥🔥

I’ve actually read quite a lot of Stephens’ work, and I can say this is her best. It’s the most polished, smoothly edited, and well paced. The spice was really thoughtfully added and I think absolutely spot on for a trad published book. I went in expecting a fun time but am honestly blown away by the flexibility and range of skill shown in writing a genre in a different tone than usual. I really hope publishing pushes for adequate advertisement space, I think this has real potential to hit mainstream shelves as a fun summer romp and make waves.

First off, the narrators were phenomenal. The way they brought the story and characters to life is absolute perfection. They truly knocked it out of the park. I was lucky to get an ALC copy and once I started listening, OMG… it’s so freaking good, I couldn’t put it down. I will be needing to read the eBook or paperback version when it comes out.
This antihero/villain-turned-superhero tale is most definitely going on my list of favorite reads this year. From the funny and adorable moments to the suspense, action, and seriously steamy scenes, it’s hard to pick a favorite part since it has a little bit of everything, and it’s all done so well.
Think Smallville, The Boys, Lucifer… If you’re into superhero rom-coms, sci-fi romance, a dose of action, a lot of spice, and a hero who’s got way more going on than just saving the day, this one’s for you.
Read it. Listen to it. Whatever format you prefer. Add it to your TBR.

I saw this gorgeous cover and was immediately intrigued. I was so excited to get a ALC and ARC of this so I could read and listen at the same time! The voice actors for this dual narration were *chefs kiss*!

This is not your average rom-com- it’s so much more. The plot is fun and interesting, but not too fluffy. It definitely kept my attention. The characters have depth, are relatable, and diverse - which is to be expected if you’ve read this author before. I loved all of the varying relationships and personalities.

While there’s definitely an “insta” component between Nessa and Rollo, it wasn’t cringe at all and their connection was genuine and vulnerable. They were stumbling around in the dark together and I was rooting for them the whole way. Their dynamic was just what I wanted and the tension and spice had me kicking my feet! Rollo can boss me around ANY DAY.

10/10! No notes, Elizabeth is fast becoming one of my favorite authors. I need to hurry up and make my way through her backlist.

What a fun ride this was! It felt like the TV show The Boys mixed with an early 2000s romcom.

I loved the two main characters and their grumpy sunshine dynamic. The enemies to lovers was also done really well.

The representation in this was also really great but felt real and natural without being thrown in for the sake of it.

The plot was really engaging and had me intrigued in what direction it would take and I'm pleased to see a followup is always lined up.

Both narrators were really strong and worked perfectly for the characters.

Overall this was a really fun listen and I really liked the writing style so am looking forward to reading more by this author!

There were too many tropes, I hate to say it, but too many. This made it difficult to understand what was happening intermittently throughout the book.
Vanessa was fun, I have to say that I did enjoy her for the most part.
This book has lots of quirkiness throughout. Enemies to lovers vibes.
I did feel like the book wasn't complete, if that makes sense. Like, there has to be more to this book that is just missing? There was so much world-building in the first half of the book, I felt like the end of the book wasn't there.
The structure of the book was lacking, and I felt the writing felt disjointed in the second half of the book.
The characters were all unique. They were developed, but I felt like I was missing something in a lot of their development.
I think had I gotten "more" from the book, I could have rated it higher.

I am sold on the entire series. I don’t know how many there will be or who they’ll feature but this was absolutely fantastic. Elizabeth Stephens was meant for contemporary romance, giving readers lines that making us burst out with both laughter and disbelief! I was INVESTED and it was so hard to turn this audiobook on pause. Narrator Dara Brown had me had me begging for me! She was FANTASTIC. This was my first audiobook narrated by her but most certainly won’t be my last. I felt like I was IN the story, experiencing the feelings and situations. Partnered with Sean Bassett and you had the perfect narrators for this series. I hope they return for book two!

ASNPR is a fun, often funny, urban sci-fi/fantasy about a shy girl with her own PR firm, a gaggle of protective brothers, and a new client that she just cannot seem to act normally around.
What follows is so much fun - a real page turner- that I legit read it in one sitting.
I love the twist ending, which I admit was a bit surprising! And I cannot WAIT for the sequel - I hope a full series because this really is a world of characters.

Nessa and Rollo were absolute magic from Chapter 1! The premise of the plot drew me in before I knew I had an opportunity to review so I preordered the book months ago. I was not the least bit disappointed as Elizabeth is a master storyteller with a very vivid, brilliant imagination.

Rollo, an alien Wyvern, needs to rehab his image from villain to superhero and who better than to do that than Nessa, a shy, introverted awkward woman who runs her own PR firm for the 48, a group of aliens who fell to Earth. Rollo is against the idea of rehabbing his image initially but he changes his mind and comes back with a contract. That includes my favorite trope - fake dating! Sign me up! The moment these two came into contact, I could feel the tension. The narrators, Dara Brown and Sean Basset, were absolutely amazing at bringing Nessa and Rollo to life. Nessa was perfectly awkward and Rollo - that gruff voice - was the perfect bad boy who wanted to be a good guy.

I squealed, screamed, kicked my feet, scared a few people in public while listening during shopping excursions - that’s how immersed I was in the story! It was very humorous, heartfelt and funIt was worth every minute!

I don’t do spoilers but if you love paranormal romance with fake dating between an awkward woman and a bad boy villain with lots of kinky spice, read/listen to All Superheroes Need PR! You will not regret it!

All Superheroes Need PR by Elizabeth Stephen. Elizabeth Stephen has done it again! She doesn't miss! I don't think I have heard a book by her that I didn't love! She is one of those authors whose books are hard to put down. This book was perfect! If you enjoy the TV series "The Boys," this book will give you similar vibes. We have Roland, a villain-turned-superhero, with the help of Vanessa. I started and finished this book in one day.

Over two decades ago, forty-eight young, gifted superheroes fell to Earth and were eventually marketed as opposing brands: heroes and villains.

The audiobook is dual narration, Dara Brown and Sean Bassett. Dara is a new narrator to me, and she did a good job. Sean is becoming a favorite. They both did a good job narrating the story and bringing the characters to life. They were easy to listen to and understand. I listened at 2x speed.

Vanessa Theriot, 34, is CEO of a PR company pitching to win the PR gig for Roland Casteel, one of the "48", a group of gifted superheroes who fell to earth in capsules two decades ago. His pinked tinged eyes and tendency to set things on fire from objects to his temper make him the trickiest client they've had yet. To make it more challenging, Vanessa is pretty sure the "Pyro" hates her guts. But in a strange twist of fate, they're offered the contract as long as Vanessa will personally fulfill the Lois Lane clause, i.e. be the girlfriend. And as more than just a publicity stunt.

This book wasn't for me. The overall concept and plot leans towards bonkers, and from the description I was feeling X-Men crossed with Dr Horrible. Unfortunately what it didn't have was the balance I prefer in my books that go off the rails. Vanessa is a young BIPOC woman with an incredibly traumatic past; she's done therapy to work through it, which is admirable, but she's shy in public and has confidence issues. (Truly to me the most unbelievable part of the book is that she's the CEO of a PR firm...). She's been adopted by a loving family, but her brothers still treat her a little like the 13-year-old she was when she came to them. Roland immediately steps into a hyper-protective role, with his instincts all screaming "possess."

There's an unspoken fated mates connection, which reads as insta-lust while we try to determine exactly what Roland is. Their relationship goes from 0 to 100 quickly as Roland proposes on their first date. In the bedroom, this book leans spicy, but also unfortunately for me, leans into "good girl" and possessiveness that don't tend to work for me. If you pick this up, just keep in mind that our Super is humanoid, but definitely not human.

I did enjoy the overall concept of the world with these 48, and honestly, I'd consider reading the next book in the series, despite not loving this one. The cast of characters is incredibly diverse racially, Vanessa's right-hand at the company is a transwoman and we meet her gay colleagues in the first chapters as well. The cosmopolitan nature of their world and a core group from all over make it a reason to pick this up.

Elizabeth Stephens really said, “What if we have superheroes but make it spicy, hilarious, and original?” and absolutely delivered. All Superheroes Need PR was everything I didn’t know I needed! This was a fresh twist on the superhero trope that gave us a grumpy, chaotic flame-thrower named Roland (The Pyro) and a Type A PR queen Vanessa, who’s just trying to keep him from burning his career (and everything else) to the ground. He’s not exactly hero material, but when he agrees to let Vanessa rebrand him, with the catch that she plays his fake girlfriend? The slow burn turns explosive.

Their banter? Impeccable. Their chemistry? Off the charts. I laughed, I blushed, I stayed up way too late reading. Stephens nails the balance of worldbuilding, romance, and humor while also poking fun at celebrity culture and image control. The audiobook takes it up another notch! Dara Brown and Sean Bassett were perfection. Their delivery, the energy, the tension? A+ all around.

I was so lucky to win this book as a ALC and like all Elizabeth Stephen’s books this one did not disappoint! Pretty sure I finished the 12 hour audiobook in 36 hours. Roland the MMC villain/superhero was down bad for the FMC Vanessa and I was so here for it. Honestly when the audiobook got to the first chapter from Roland’s point of view I was so excited and it instantly had me smiling. If Elizabeth Stephens wasn’t already an auto buy author for me then she would be after this book. If you love rom coms, but also love sci-fi romances this book was made for you! 10/10 a million times recommend. And if you haven’t listened to her omega series, really what have you been doing with your life?? Thank you again for the chance to listen to this! It genuinely made me laugh out loud and I loved every second of it!

I loved this book and reading it put the biggest smile on my face.

48 aliens with superpowers fell to the earth two decades ago and slowly they were labeled as ‘heroes’ or ‘villains’. Pyro is the last of the supers to not be labeled so he is a hot commodity for PR companies. This idea was genius and created such a wonderful and exciting world. I was a huge fan of Smallville growing up and this just scratched that same itch.

Vanessa was such a funny and relatable character. She runs a PR firm, but she also feels like a real person. She makes mistakes and she is very clumsy. She makes a fool of herself in their first meeting with Pyro, but then finds herself signing a 10 year PR deal. What she doesn’t realize when she signs the deal is that she has also agreed to be Pyro’s, soon to be rebranded as Wyvern’s, ‘Lois Lane.’ Enter one of my favorite tropes, fake dating.

I love the chemistry between Roland and Vanessa. I love the action in this story. I love the representation in both main characters and the side characters. I love that Vanessa and Roland both had foster families growing up but still had very different childhoods. I love how fast paced this story was and kept me reading until I finished in a single sitting. And I loved the spice.

This is a Romantasy/Sci-fi romance that reads a lot like a contemporary romance. This is a wonderful book for readers that have read a lot of contemporary romance and are looking into dipping their toes into the fantasy/sci-fi side of romance. There isn’t a ton of world building and the world building is simple to understand.

What a delightful, hilarious read from Elizabeth Stephens. I absolutely loved this unique premise (and honestly, one that makes a lot of sense if we were to ever introduce superheroes to our world). Vanessa and Roland's chemistry was OFF THE CHARTS, and I loved their dynamic. I do wish less of the book had been focused on the marketing/corporate side of things, just because I'm a corporate girlie who reads to forget about this stuff. But other than that, this was a wonderfully fun book!

The romance is a little spicy, these people are sorting out what 'consent' means but their hearts seem to be in the right place which actually surprised me, the plot was much more thought out that I expected. The author did a good job of coming up with a series concept which will hold a series together but also allow her to make each volume about a self-contained romance. And with a cast like this she could make over 45 books if she wanted to, though I don't think "Spicy Cozy Romances Which Are Not Fantasy" is not the next big thing. I could be wrong.

This is a spoiler I guess, but the story is kinda werewolf romance adjacent? Kinda? People picking this up for superheroes might be surprised / not have wanted that, so I feel it should be mentioned.
