This audiobook was such a fun and wild ride. Not really sure how to explain this, but if you like the movie The Incredibles, I think you'll like this. It has that vibe of story and superhero with the added bonus of a romance. I really enjoyed the narrators, they did a great job. I'm looking forward to trying this author's other books.

I absolutely adored All Superheroes Need PR by Elizabeth Stephens! The friendship group in this story is everything: supportive, loyal, but still willing to call each other out when needed. It’s that perfect balance of humor, heart, and realness.
Our FMC, Vanessa, had a rough childhood until she was adopted by a genuinely sweet and loving family. She’s got more brothers than she bargained for, plus a mom and dad who would do anything to keep her safe—sometimes even literally fighting with lacrosse sticks. Meanwhile, MMC Rowland, aka Pyro, has had a totally different life. He crash-landed on Earth from another planet and was shuffled into a foster family where he never quite felt like he belonged. He’s the kind of guy who barely cares about anything, walking around in singed workout clothes, with unkempt hair and a beard, just not caring what anyone thinks—until he meets Vanessa.
And oh boy, Rowland sure messes that up! His vibe is not just a little deranged but totally cuckoo, which just makes the story even more entertaining. Luckily, Vanessa’s strong support system gives her the strength to develop a thing with him — starting from a working relationship and slowly evolving into more.
The book is a first-person dual-POV sci-fi romance. Vanessa runs a PR company that helps the Forty-Eight, a group of alien kids who crashed on Earth twenty-two years ago and lost their memories. These aliens are starting to divide into heroes and villains, and Rowland recruits Vanessa’s agency under the Lois Lane Clause—meaning she’s agreed to pretend to be his girlfriend.
The genre is a bit tricky to pin down — it’s definitely a blend of sci-fi romance, superhero vibes, and some paranormal elements, even touching on Omegaverse tropes. If you love speculative romance with a mix of urban fantasy and paranormal, this book is a wild, fun ride. It’s also pretty spicy, with lots of kink and intense moments. Rowland can be a bit forceful and possessive early on, which leans into darker romance territory, but Vanessa calls him out and he genuinely changes, keeping the story from going full dark.
Overall, I’d recommend All Superheroes Need PR to fans of paranormal, alien, and speculative romance who aren’t afraid of some heat and enjoy a complex, layered story with big personalities and heart. It’s both a fun, spicy adventure and a heartfelt exploration of support, love, and finding your place in the universe.

I am obsessed with this story. I have now read it with my eye balls and my ear balls and it is absolute perfection. The narrators did a fantastic job of bringing this story to life and I know it’s going to be one of my go-to comfort audiobooks. If you like monster and/or alien romance or are a fan of the The Boys you are going to be as feral for this one as I am. Elizabeth Stephens simply does not miss.

2.5 stars rounded up. It took me awhile to get into this. It was a lot of stop and starting and that could be because the only other story i read from this author was a short novella with loads of spice and it was so good i rated it 4 or 5 stars. I think what went wrong for me was that it took a minute to get into the meat and potatoes, the spice, and the characters. I didn’t know what the main plot was, even towards the end of the book.
There was so many different plot points. It was hard to follow and focus on what should be going on. With the PR company situation, then the Lois Lane situation, and then finally the “intruders” and memory shift. I feel like the last plot point could have been in another book. It felt rushed and sloppy. Sorry.
The spice. From someone who wrote such a spicy fantasy book, we didn’t get much until like 70% into the book. Which is unfortunate because this author writes spice good and I was looking forward to it.
The characters…man! I feel so bad but I did not find any of these characters likeable! The main MC was way too aloof, strange, and anxiety filled for my liking. And coming from someone whom has anxiety it was just a bit much especially since she’s a ceo of a PUBLIC relations company. Very strange. Roland was just like a pawn to me. He didn’t have any personality. It went from him being rude to her to, “she’s my girl!”, to I love her. It was such love bombing done wrong and they had no chemistry. And the fact that he called her a B****. And the excuse she made for it…ick.
I wanted to like this so much because once again my first impression of this author was so good. Hopefully future books I like more and I hope this author continues to write more monster/paranormal, romance
Now audiobook wise, i think both narrators did a great job but the voice Roland…omg his voice was like sweet velvet.

This book is utterly delicious! I’ve enjoyed Elizabeth Stephens Xiveri Mates series, and was very excited when she started talking about her upcoming superhero series. This was such a delight of a read, I read it in a single sitting! (I’d started it with my eyeballs and was struggling, but when I got an audio copy, I zipped through because I could not put it down!) Vanessa and Rowland are excellent and I love the development of their relationship. I also love Vanessa’s friendships and family. This was such a great read, and I cannot wait for the next part of the series!
I love the narration and especially when Sean Bassett’s voice would get all low and growly, oof, so good! Definitely recommend listening to the audiobook!

More than 20 years ago, 48 young heroes came to earth, and for marketing and capitalist reasons, they were eventually split into two groups that were promoted as The Heroes and The Villains, respectively. Villain Roland Casteel, widely known as "The Pyro," is looking to become a hero. Roland meets with Vanessa Theriot, a PR manger and the owner of her own PR company, in hopes that she can help change his public image.
The plan seems simple enough. Change his name, change his look, and give him a heroine? Vanessa agrees to become Roland's "Lois Lane" and suddenly they're fake dating!
Vanessa starts to become infatuated with Roland, but just as things are going good, they turn south. A supervillain has Roland acting like his old villainous self, but this time it's to save someone he's fallen madly in love with.
This book is hilarious, spicy, sweet, relatable, heartwarming, a little dark (as it covers topics sensitive for some audiences), and just overall a really good read! There is anxiety and PTSD representation in this book through the main character, Vanessa, and her character's situation and emotions are so easy to identify & resonate with. (⚠️ - Please make sure to check the Trigger Warnings for this book on the author's website!)
As a comic book, superhero, romance, and paranormal romance fan reading this book was really an enjoyable experience. It felt so good to laugh so hard.

Thank you so much to the Publisher Montlake, to the author Elizabeth Stephens, and to NetGalley for an audiobook arc of this book!

I recieved a free ALC of this book as a gift from the author.
"Sometimes superheroes don't give a fuck about the world. Sometimes, they just want the girl."
I have read the majority of Elizabeth Stephens blacklist at this point and adored all of them, so it was no surprise I loved this book too. I just really get on with the way she writes romantic relationships; MMCs who are gone from minute one, absolutely obsessed with their FMCs and FMCs who are each strong in their own unique way. Roland, or Rollo, is probably my favourite MMC from recent memory; I actually swooned at almost everything he said. Vanessa was wonderful too, and reminded me so much of myself which greatly helped my enjoyment of this book. She was socially anxious and panicky, but still so smart and strong in other ways. I've never read or thought I would like a superhero book before, but this one was definitely worth the read.
I also loved the found family aspect of this book, and the effortless way the author incorporated such stunning diversity. All other authors should be taking notes; it really isn't that hard.
As for sex/smut/spice, I'm not sure why I've seen so much about this book being majority that as there were actually so few scenes. One partial set scene (no P-in-V, but other things) at 55% and nothing else but a few mentions of oral until after the 85% mark where there were only 2 full sex scenes through the rest of the book.
TW/CW: mentions and memories of verbal and physical child abuse by parents, PTSD and anxiety experienced on-page, mentions of transphobia, mentions of death, kidnapping, mentions of foster care and adoption, arson, light CNC and somnophilia kink (consensually explored), light BDSM elements, mentions of guns and gun violence, general violence relating to superheros and supervillains, and other things I may have missed
