When Kara checks out her neighbours house, thinking her friends husband is having an affair, she unintentionally sees his murder. Running from the man who shot her friend, she finds herself in the middle of the crime.

A fun, quick ride with nice flow.

This was a quick novella and Chad Zunker did a great job of packing a lot of excitement into this short story. I was able to guess part of the ending, but I was surprised by part of it.

Amara Jasper did a great job narrating this story.

I have a love hate relationship with short stories. I'm glad to say this one was a love. I was engaged from the beginning and wondering where it was going.

I thought Kara was a little over the top and I guessed who did it. But for the whole listen, I was into the wacky neighbors. It really packed a punch with a lot depth and a lot of action in the time it had.

Amara Jasper is a new to me narrator and she did a great job bringing it all together and engaging me.

Such a good book. 😂 give you a reason to learn to mind your business and not be as nosey. A very quick read and a great story I truly enjoyed this book. I highly recommend it.

Suburbia’s secrets run deep in this action-packed domestic thriller. A nosy neighbor gets in too deep—secrets, betrayals, and consequences abound. Fast-paced and addictive. I love a juicy nosy neighbor trope!

Good Neighbors is a short story in the Alibis collection by Chad Zunker. The audio version is narrated by Amara Jasper. Intent on being a good neighbor, Kara Reed is checking to see if Bill McGregor’s evening visitor while his wife, Mindy is absent, might be the other woman she suspects. Kara’s husband has told her not to get involved, but there she is, jaw dropping as something entirely unexpected happens. And suddenly, she’s a target for a very nasty person. Lots of action and a predictable twist, but alibis didn’t feature.

I did read the short story first, and I enjoyed it a lot, but I liked the audio even better. This is a short but suspenseful story, the narration is great, and the characters are wonderfully likeable. Thanks to NetGalley for this entertaining eaudio.

This little story is definitely a close tie for my favorite in the series! Suburbia, secrets, and a caring neighbor who gets in way too deep! Kara’s curiosity felt so real, and I loved how the tension slowly built with every page.

Even in such a short format, I felt a strong connection with the characters, and the twist totally caught me off guard! Suspenseful, sharp, and while in some ways it was so engaging that I didn’t want it to end, it was also so suspenseful that I’m glad I was able to quickly get to the final wrap up!

Thank you so much to Netgalley and Amazon Original Stories for the advanced copy of the book! All thoughts and opinions are my own!

Thank you to the author, narrator, publisher and Net Galley for providing a free e-audio of this title in exchange for my review.

This short story is part of the Amazon Original Stories series, which is quite a nice little series of short stories and a great way to introduce yourself to new authors. This was a new author for me, and I think I might try out full length novels by this author now. Characters were enjoyable, atmosphere was tense and suspenseful, and the mystery was decent, didn't leave things hanging. Very fast read.

4 stars. Recommend to anyone looking for a satisfying quick mystery read.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC opportunity!

I really enjoyed this one. Even though its a short story, it had plenty of action and suspense and build up. It gave enough details that you actually felt like you were getting the bigger story.

This has been my least favourite so far of the Alibis series. It was okay but a bit formulaic. I was hoping for a twist at the end that blindsided me, but it just finished up nicely. The narration was good.

This was a decent audiobook novella. A lot is packed into this book and wrapped up nicely.

There isn’t a whole lot to say but it was good and worth the read.

ARC audiobook provided in exchange for an honest review.

I loved Amara Jasper’s narration on this book! It’s a short story, but she had me listening to it in a single session! The book itself has many suspenseful moments and I got sucked into it way more than I normally do in a short story, I wanted more! If you’re into thrillers, mysteries, and a touch of horror, check this book out!

Kara is just trying to help out her neighbor, Mandy, who suspects her husband of having an affair. So when she sees something suspicious, she goes over to investigate. This was another good short story in this collection, and will definitely have you thinking that you should just mind your own business!

A suspenseful and entertaining short story. This is part of the Alibis Collection, short stories featuring secrets, lies and deception.

This is a read or listen in one sitting, pacy story. I enjoyed the audio production and the narration by Amara Jasper, which depicted the tension and twists well.

Good Neighbors by Chad Zunker is a punchy, suspenseful short story that delivers plenty of tension in a tight runtime. The premise is simple but effective: when Kara agrees to keep an eye on her best friend Mindy’s house, she quickly finds herself in over her head. What starts as innocent neighborhood watch duty turns into a dangerous game of secrets and deception.

The pacing is fast, making this a perfect one-sitting listen. I especially enjoyed the way the story plays with perspective—you think you know what’s going on, but there’s more beneath the surface. The narration was solid and brought the growing sense of dread to life nicely.

While the twist wasn’t entirely shocking, it was satisfying and well-executed for a short format. Overall, this is a quick and entertaining listen for anyone who enjoys stories about suburban secrets and how curiosity can take a deadly turn.

This book was ok I just feel like it was predictable. Basic thriller tropes and I feel like I knew what was gonna happen within the first 10 minutes of the story. It wasn’t bad though I still enjoyed the narration.

I didn't realize this was a short story when I requested the audio ARC. Short stories aren't really my thing and, as expected, I didn't have enough time to get really invested in the characters or story. I think that's more of a me problem than a story problem, though, hence the 3 stars.

Thanks, NetGalley and Brilliance Publishing, for the audio ARC in exchange for an honest review.
