Chick-or-Treat is a book full of cute photos of chicks dressed up for Halloween, near Fall/Halloween props or photoshopped in front of spooky backgrounds. It's a quick read, but I think it could've been done a bit better. I think preschoolers will like seeing the chicks, but older kids won't be interested.
I received a free copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

This super cute board book for toddlers uses real photos of chicks in silly situations for a punny Halloween read. This was adorable and I could use this in my October lesson plans. Small children will definitely laugh at the funny situations the chicks get themselves into!

My son thought this book was hilarious. Seeing cute chicks in a bowl of Halloween candy or a chick asking a cat if they could be a cat for Halloween. Every page, my three year old would say "aww how cute!"

Such a cute story about a Halloween adventure for little chicks! I will definitely be adding this board book to my Little Free Library when published!

Thank you to NetGalley and the author, Lynette Ordonez, for a digital ARC in return for an honest review

Hmmm maybe I'm missing something here...I know I'm obviously not this book's target audience :) but I fail to see the connection between (admittedly cute) chicks and Halloween. I'm British* so perhaps this is an American thing?? This is a nice enough book but I can't get over the incongruity of Chicks and pumpkins. I'm not even keen on the photos, some of them are really badly photoshopped. In this day and age, if you're not going to take actual photos, at least get AI to make them half decent. I can't speak for other people's children, but if I had given my Son this book when he was little, he would've just looked at me with confusion.

*Yes, I am British, but as a family we wholeheartedly celebrate Halloween every year and welcome neighbourhood children to our display to hand out candy. Also, one of our favourite films is Tim Burton's The Nightmare before Christmas. I have no problem with combining Christmas and Halloween but throwing Easter into the mix is just pure madness ;)

OMG! This is going to be the most adorable board book. These chicks are soooo stinkin cute. I especially love the ones in pirate hats. I’m a Pediatric Literacy Nurse, and this is a book I’d love included in our NICU library.

This is a cute book of chicks dressed for Halloween. Ideal for toddlers, it shows chicks with a mother hen, chicks in costume, or chicks peeking out of a jack-o-lantern.

I recommend this book for daycares and libraries.

All in all, I'd say that this book is really great if a Halloween-themed board book is what you're looking for. The book started off very strong with puns on every page and adorable pictures of chicks to go along with them. However, I found that these puns stopped somewhere in the book, before coming back again for one last page. Put simply, I would have liked to see some more consistency with the writing pattern that seemed to be chosen at the beginning of the book. Other than that small thing, though, this book covered its bases. The images were adorable and matched the tone of the book, and a variety of different Halloween elements were touched on. Lastly, an interesting and effective choice that was made was having some of the Halloween activities relate to chickens. Pretty much everything about this book tied together in a neat package!

Chick-or-Treat It's Halloween is a cute little children's book about chicks and Halloween... what's not to like?! I'm not sure if it's just my kindle or the actual layout, but the pictures were a little out of place. Overall, a cute and quick little read that children will fall in love with!

Quite a cute little book. Felt it didn’t always quite tie in to the Halloween theme and at times was a little hurt of a stretch, but loved the adorable baby animal pictures, and all in all was quite sweet.

Chick-or-Treat! It’s Halloween! is a sweet little board book featuring real photos of baby chicks dressed up for spooky season. It’s definitely more cute than high-quality, but toddlers will love the festive costumes, pumpkins, and silly puns. While not a must-have, it’s a fun seasonal pick for tiny readers.

Thank you to Lynette Ordonez and Teacher Created Materials for the eARC!

Chick-or-Treat! It’s Halloween! is an eggstra adorable read, full of cluck-tastic fun and feathered festivities. My nieces, proud chicken moms, will love it—and I’m sure it’ll inspire their own Halloween hen photo shoot. A sweet, quick treat for little ones around the holiday!

I'd like to extend a thanks to the author, Lynette Ordonez, Teacher Created Materials, and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this cute little Halloween children's book, Chick-or-Treat! It's Halloween! I will share my review to Goodreads, Amazon, and Barnes & Noble upon release.

Very cute little board book focused on chicks celebrating the holiday of Halloween, in various backgrounds like in a jack-o-lantern. Children will enjoy for the cute animals and festive atmosphere. Each of the pages also has a little fun saying that will spark engagement with babies and their adults. Thanks again!

Chick-or-Treat! It's Halloween is an adorable book. There are some really fun chick and egg puns! I recommend it for a toddler or small child who is interested in chicks and Halloween.

This was cure! However using chicks did feel like this was weird mix between Easter and Halloween!
I know my toddler would love all the images though. I’m unsure about some of the play on words. Simple ones like peek-a-boo work though!
