PLEASE......give me any book written by the great author Dan Jones! LIONHEARTS, the third and final book in his Essex Dogs series is wonderful!...bloody, funny, shocking and historical!! Lovejoy is the main character here along with his other Essex Dogs buddies...but it's the Scotsman that steals the show! I loved this series and I love this book, in particular. The history that comes out of Mr. Jones' books is truly awesome, most based on actual happenings. The grit and rawness of his descriptions of war in the 1340's defies any horror story.
Highly recommended!

Lion Hearts, book III of the Essex Dogs saga is set in England, focuses on the channel, nobility's faults, and abuses of 100 Years' War veterans trying to eke a living post plague. Some of the story feels anachronistic, and it seems like the conclusion wasn't the ending.
