I love everything about this series! I have mainly been reading them, but have recently discovered how great audiobooks can be. This one did not disappoint. The story was great. I love Kaia's strength mixed with her vulnerability and Thane's gruff exterior, but cuddly interior (at least when it comes to those he cares about). Will Watt and Amy Landon did a great job bringing these characters to life. I felt like I was in Loren Brae and experiencing the Kelpies right along with Kaia and Thane. I could feel the tension as the threat of the Kelpies loomed and the fight Kaia and Thane were going through internally as they came to know each other and the threat around them. Highly recommend!

This series is fast becoming one of my favorite series. I love how relatable the series is. How well it’s written and how smooth everything goes. I feel like this one was the easiest for the character to pass the challenges but she had the hardest time with the selkies. I like this narrator and how the narration is. These books are colorful and down to earth. I enjoy the writing style and the plot just sucks me in. I love finding out what the new person has as a career and seeing how they balance all the new, how they handle just being thrown into the deep end and end up loving the community around them. I can’t wait to start the series over and discover things I missed the first time through.

What a lovely, cozy Scottish romance! I have not read the other books in this series but I had no trouble getting into the story and loving all the characters. Reading this one made me want to go back and check out the rest of the series! I'm often in the mood for a sweet, slightly magical romance to gobble up in between longer series and I'm so glad that I now have a list of Tricia O'Malley's books to tackle. Would recommend this series of books to anyone looking for a sweet, low stakes romance - especially listen to the audio if you love a Scottish accent! I couldn't get enough of it.

What can i say that I haven't already said about this series a million times. These are my comfort reads, when the world is too much or my stress is too high this series is my escape. I LOVE Loren Brea and I just need one email asking me for my unique set of skills so that I can move and live the life of my dreams. Seriously though. I loved Kaia i thought that she was absolutely genuine as a character and that she fit right in with the rest of my Order gals. Her and Thane have such a beautiful connection and I loved how their story played out. Thane was every thing that I have come to expect from a man of Loren Brea and man i hope that when I get my invitation there's one there for me too! All jokes aside I really can't get enough of this series and the surge of happy vibes and comfort I get when i embark on one more adventure there. I know it will eventually but if this series never ends I would never complain. As always the narrators of this were absolute perfection and lets be super honest if Will Watt could talk me to sleep every night i would pay a ridiculous amount of money. I cannot wait for book 8!!

American Kaia sets out to start a new life in a small Scottish town—but she quickly finds herself facing more than she bargained for: like discovering that her passionate one-night stand lives in the same town… and, oh yes, magic!
I absolutely adored this book—so much so that I plan to go back and start at the very beginning of the series - these can be read as standalone, but reading from the beginning would help paint a better picture of the overarching plot. The narrators were fantastic, and I especially loved Will Watt’s performance as Thane’s niece (his voice work was spot-on!). If you're looking for a paranormal cozy romance with a Scottish accent, then check out this series!
Tropes featured include: instalust, enemies-ish to lovers, and found family.

All admit, this was the first book I’ve read by Tricia O’Malley. Contemporary romance isn’t a genre I spend a lot of time in but this story was very enjoyable. The magical realism/folklore elements and magic woven into the story was lovely and fit very well. The romance was fun, the tension was there, and the ending felt complete.
Thank you NetGalley and publisher for the ARC of this story.

Wild Scottish Gold is the 7th book in Tricia O’Malley’s Enchanted Highlander series. This is the story of American metal worker Kaia Bissett. With Scottish roots, Kaia has inherited the cottage once belonging to an aunt she never knew. Along with the cottage came a small car and a lovely property sitting near the shores of Loch Mirren in the picturesque town of Loren Brae.
Kaia has made mistakes in the past. Poor judgement and naivety found her in a relationship with the foundry boss who had sworn he was single, but had lied about everything. Jobless, Kaia used her metallurgy skills to make jewelry and sell it wherever she could. While this was not enough to support herself, it was enough to get by with her parents help and save enough so she could accept her inheritance. Hoping to find work doing metalwork and doing her jewelry on the side, she goes on the most unexpected journey of her lifetime.
Allowing herself a few days upon her arrival in Edinburgh to explore before moving on to Loren Brae, Kaia encounters a larger than life Scotsman named Thane. With a wonderful time together, they part ways without sharing much personal information. Little does Kaia know he is from Loren Brae and owns the metalworks there. This information may have come in handy when Kaia rents space from the company’s foreman, Ian, putting her again in the position of workplace relationships.
But the workplace is the least of her worries! When the Order of Caledonia members discover Kaia possesses magick, she is quickly recruited and the ladies of the Order mentor her as she learns her craft and passes three challenges.
This is another enchanting addition to a lovely mystical series by Tricia O’Malley. The characters are well written and the story is well plotted. I very much enjoyed this book, as I have the series, and do recommend it to all fans of this genre.

There is nothing like listening to a Scottish narrator! He made this book for me.! Listening to his voice made me imagine this whole story in Scotland. The story starts off with some great spice, and then as the story goes on, the fantasy was woven in. This book is definitely a comfy cozy read. If that is what you want, this is the book for it. Sit down with a cup of coffee and a warm blanket, and listen.
Thank you Dreamscape Select audio for allowing me to listen to this advanced audiobook!

This one gave strong self-pub energy—rushed pacing, thin world-building, and narration that didn’t help (especially the female voice, which grated more than enchanted). To be fair, this is book seven in a series I haven’t touched, so maybe the world makes more sense if you’ve been along for the whole ride.
That said, I didn’t find much here to draw me in. Others seem to be loving it, so maybe it’s just me—but I won’t be booking a return trip to these enchanted highlands anytime soon.

This book was a solid 3 star for me. It was a totally fluff book in my mind, the romance, the magic, the friends all seemed a little too well put together. The heroine came off as someone quite talented but stupid, How could you not know your boyfriend had an alternative life, especially after such a long time. She just goes on and on about trust, etc... but really use your brains. Have convos, woman!!!
Narration was decent. The male narrator had a really thick accent, but it was not off-putting. he just needed more attention. the flow between male and female was done well.

I really tried to like this, but the narration was so distracting. It felt like the FMC narrator did not do a pre-read of the book. She kept putting emphasis on the wrong words of the sentences. I actually thought I was listening to an AI narration. I will say both narrators did a great job switching between Scottish and American accents. It was just so hard to pay attention when the narrator sounded like a robot. There was no emotion or connection behind the narration, which is what I really need in order to escape into the book. I know the narration is what ruined this for me, because graphic audio is adapting the books in this series and I listened to a sample. The writing sounded much smoother coming from the graphic audio narrators. I haven’t read the other books in this series, but if I do I’m going to listen to the graphic audio versions.
The plot itself was a cute, magical realism, Scottish romance that reminded me of a hallmark movie. This is book 7 in a series but it can be read as a standalone. It’s exactly the kind of book I would pick up to have a cozy, little bedtime read.

Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to listen to the audiobook in exchange for my honest review.

Kaia and Thane. This is the 7th book in this series, and the one I have enjoyed the least. It’s also the only one I’ve listened to on audio, and if I hadn’t gotten the audio through NetGalley, I would have bailed and switched to the ebook. I was excited at first to get accepted for an ALC, until I realized I was accepted on the release date so I’m pretty sure anyone could listen. Still, I enjoyed the first 5 books in this series so I was looking forward to book 7. (I haven’t read 6 yet, but knew that really wouldn’t matter much.)
The narrators. She sounded like she was either whispering or on the verge of crying most of the time. It was all very dramatic, even when it seemed like normal dialogue that didn’t need to be dramatic. At the beginning he sounded like he put cloth in his mouth or something but eventually he settled into his accent.
The story. If you haven’t been reading this series, this isn’t going to make any sense to you at all. Without the backstory, there’s not much to this book except her being a jerk to him, dithering a lot, and talking to a bird. Even the magic was kind of phoned in. The early books the three acts were a big deal. Here we know the first, we can assume what the second is, and the third is a by the way she got that.
So I’m not sure what the point of this book was. There was no chemistry between Kaia and Thane. Not sure if that was the book or the narrators, or both. It might be time to wrap this series up.

Thanks to NetGalley and Lovewrite Publishing for an ARC of Wild Scottish Gold! This romantasy series continues to be a perfect palette cleanser - sweet, light, and easy to digest. Each story and relationship is unique enough to avoid a repetitive feel.
Kaia and Thane’s story introduces our forge witch to the Order of Caledonia, with an affinity for magic infused into metal. The Kelpies are stopped, the order continues to grow, and more snarky familiars are earned. Can’t wait for the next installment!

**ALC Review**
Wild Scottish Gold is a mesmerizing tale that sweeps readers into the breathtaking landscapes of Scotland, where love, magic, and Celtic mythology converge. Kaia, seeking a fresh start, inherits a charming cottage in Loren Brae, but her journey takes a fateful twist when she shares a night with Thane in Edinburgh neither of them can forget.
As destiny intertwines their lives further, Kaia discovers that Thane is not only her (kind of) new boss but also the source of an irresistible connection that defies professional boundaries. Their undeniable connection pulls them back together, time and again, creating a slow-burn romance that’s utterly irresistible. Their story unfolds against a backdrop imbued with mystical elements and the rich allure of Celtic folklore, adding an enchanting depth to their romance. Also, there is a “talking” Raven.
One of the absolute delights of this book was the inclusion of familiar faces from past installments. The girls’ night scene was a pure joy, capturing the deep friendships that have formed over the series. And the lads' pub scene—filled with camaraderie, humor, and a touch of nostalgia—was such a treat. Some previous books in the series haven’t incorporated returning characters as much, so seeing these moments where past favorites come together made this feel like a true celebration of friendships, old and new.
Amy Landon and Will Watt do a fantastic job narrating this book! I don’t know if Will Watt is Scottish or not, but I can get on board with his accent if not! ☺️
The vivid descriptions bring the magic of Scotland to life, while the heartfelt journey of Kaia and Thane keeps readers turning pages. With its blend of romance, intrigue, and ethereal charm, Wild Scottish Gold is an absolute treasure for anyone who craves a story that’s as enchanting as it is heartwarming.
Thank you to NetGalley, Dreamscape Select, and Lovewrite Publishing for the advance copy to review for my honest opinion and feedback.

I was excited for some Scottish romance. There was spice from pretty much the beginning. I found the male narrator a little hard to understand and not a fan of his girl voices.
Kaia is moving to Scottland to start her life over as a blacksmith. She has a one night stand when she arrives. Unfortunately, she finds out later that this one night stand is also a blacksmith. They have unmistakable chemistry and there is a good cast of characters.

Talk about a giddy romance. This book was just perfect. I was happy and giddy and just in love with the romance. Not only does it have a great romance but the magic, and friendships, and mystery that pulls you into this story. I truly enjoyed this book so much. The narrators definitely help make the book just that much better.

Wild Scottish Gold by Tricia O'Malley is a cute and heartwarming continuation of the Wild Scottish Hearts series. This delightful installment takes listeners back to the magical Scottish Highlands, blending romance, mystery, and a touch of the mystical in a way that’s both fun and feel-good.
The narration by Will Watt and Amy Landon is excellent. Their voices complement each other well and bring charm and energy to the characters, making the listening experience even more engaging.
If you're a fan of cozy paranormal romance with endearing characters and a vivid setting, Wild Scottish Gold is a lovely addition to the series and a satisfying listen.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4 out of 5 stars)

Wild Scottish Gold by Tricia O’Malley
The Enchanted Highlands series #7. Scottish romance with a bit of paranormal thrown in. Can be read as a stand-alone but better as part of the series.
Kaia is moving to Scotland and the town of Loren Brae as a blacksmith and jeweler. It will be a new start for and she’s excited to have her own designs created. When she gets to town, she finds all kinds of new factors in her life. The first is that the man she had a passionate one-night stand with before landing in Loren Brea also lives there. That was not the planned professional start she had in mind. The second crazy factor is magick! Who knew she inherited more than just a cottage? Kaia makes friends quickly and can’t seem to stay away from Thane. Her new start in Loren Brea is much more interesting than she anticipated.
🎧 I listened to an audiobook copy narrated by Amy Landon and Will Watt who do all the non-dramatized versions of this series. The pair does a fantastic job with the performances bringing the characters and the Scottish village to life. Even the highland coo. Will’s voice is deep and performed with a very heavily accented Scottish brogue which had me slowing down the playback a bit from my usual of 1.5. I also needed to up the volume to capture the full dialog.
I do love these two narrators together. They have become an intrinsic part of the series.
Entertaining, a bit spicy, and with the addition of the familiar, more witchy than some of the prior books.
I received a copy of this from NetGalley and Dreamscape Media.

This is a cute part of a series of books that can be read as stand a lones. perfect for lovers of witches and magic. Duel pov and some smutty scenes.
I listened to the audiobook version of this, and I wouldn't recommend it. I did not enjoy either of the narrators for this book.

I have loved every book in this series, and Thane and Kaia's story was no exception!
Both characters were easy to love, as all of Tricia's characters are.
We meet Kaia when she inherits a cottage in Scotland, and upends her life to have a go at things in the town of Loren Brae. When she lands in Edinburgh, she quite literally runs into a hot Scotsman, and a one-night tryst ensues. When she shows up to her first day at her new job, and said Scotsman, Thane, is her boss, well...will they stoke the flames or let them burn out?
The fact that they were both metalsmiths was really unique, and I enjoyed getting a peek into that trade. Thane is a burnt cinnamon roll MMC - grumpy on the outside, but a total softie when he wants to be, like with Kaia and his niece. Kaia is a strong, independent FMC and I loved that about her. While it took her a while to settle in to being a forge witch, she eventually comes around to the idea and embraces her magick.
The progression of romance from one night stand to falling in love was so sweet and spicy - I think this was the spiciest of the series so far, and I was here for it! Will and Amy did an amazing job with the narration, as always. They are one of the few duos who I truly love in dual narration style. They each connect well with the characters and you can tell by their performances that they are enjoying the story as well.
