I was excited for some Scottish romance. There was spice from pretty much the beginning. I found the male narrator a little hard to understand and not a fan of his girl voices.
Kaia is moving to Scottland to start her life over as a blacksmith. She has a one night stand when she arrives. Unfortunately, she finds out later that this one night stand is also a blacksmith. They have unmistakable chemistry and there is a good cast of characters.

Talk about a giddy romance. This book was just perfect. I was happy and giddy and just in love with the romance. Not only does it have a great romance but the magic, and friendships, and mystery that pulls you into this story. I truly enjoyed this book so much. The narrators definitely help make the book just that much better.

Wild Scottish Gold by Tricia O'Malley is a cute and heartwarming continuation of the Wild Scottish Hearts series. This delightful installment takes listeners back to the magical Scottish Highlands, blending romance, mystery, and a touch of the mystical in a way that’s both fun and feel-good.
The narration by Will Watt and Amy Landon is excellent. Their voices complement each other well and bring charm and energy to the characters, making the listening experience even more engaging.
If you're a fan of cozy paranormal romance with endearing characters and a vivid setting, Wild Scottish Gold is a lovely addition to the series and a satisfying listen.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4 out of 5 stars)

Wild Scottish Gold by Tricia O’Malley
The Enchanted Highlands series #7. Scottish romance with a bit of paranormal thrown in. Can be read as a stand-alone but better as part of the series.
Kaia is moving to Scotland and the town of Loren Brae as a blacksmith and jeweler. It will be a new start for and she’s excited to have her own designs created. When she gets to town, she finds all kinds of new factors in her life. The first is that the man she had a passionate one-night stand with before landing in Loren Brea also lives there. That was not the planned professional start she had in mind. The second crazy factor is magick! Who knew she inherited more than just a cottage? Kaia makes friends quickly and can’t seem to stay away from Thane. Her new start in Loren Brea is much more interesting than she anticipated.
🎧 I listened to an audiobook copy narrated by Amy Landon and Will Watt who do all the non-dramatized versions of this series. The pair does a fantastic job with the performances bringing the characters and the Scottish village to life. Even the highland coo. Will’s voice is deep and performed with a very heavily accented Scottish brogue which had me slowing down the playback a bit from my usual of 1.5. I also needed to up the volume to capture the full dialog.
I do love these two narrators together. They have become an intrinsic part of the series.
Entertaining, a bit spicy, and with the addition of the familiar, more witchy than some of the prior books.
I received a copy of this from NetGalley and Dreamscape Media.

This is a cute part of a series of books that can be read as stand a lones. perfect for lovers of witches and magic. Duel pov and some smutty scenes.
I listened to the audiobook version of this, and I wouldn't recommend it. I did not enjoy either of the narrators for this book.

I have loved every book in this series, and Thane and Kaia's story was no exception!
Both characters were easy to love, as all of Tricia's characters are.
We meet Kaia when she inherits a cottage in Scotland, and upends her life to have a go at things in the town of Loren Brae. When she lands in Edinburgh, she quite literally runs into a hot Scotsman, and a one-night tryst ensues. When she shows up to her first day at her new job, and said Scotsman, Thane, is her boss, well...will they stoke the flames or let them burn out?
The fact that they were both metalsmiths was really unique, and I enjoyed getting a peek into that trade. Thane is a burnt cinnamon roll MMC - grumpy on the outside, but a total softie when he wants to be, like with Kaia and his niece. Kaia is a strong, independent FMC and I loved that about her. While it took her a while to settle in to being a forge witch, she eventually comes around to the idea and embraces her magick.
The progression of romance from one night stand to falling in love was so sweet and spicy - I think this was the spiciest of the series so far, and I was here for it! Will and Amy did an amazing job with the narration, as always. They are one of the few duos who I truly love in dual narration style. They each connect well with the characters and you can tell by their performances that they are enjoying the story as well.

I read this book without reading the first books and it definitely holds as a stand alone book.
This book was very easy to listen to. I found it to be a fairly simple book, which made it the person lazy Sunday book.
I will definitely be checking out the first books in this series.

Metalworking and magick
I love Loren Brae and wish that it was real. It is a pleasure to visit each time a new Wild Scottish story is complete.
Kaia is the latest in arrivals from America meant to join the Order. Like many of us she has had hard knocks, but Loren Brae offers her the chance at a new sort of life.
I think Thane is my new favourite hero of this series. He is gruff and yet gentle. He is loyal and loving. And man the sparks that rise when he and Kaia are together.
Love Wild Scottish Gold. And watch out for the kelpies.
May 2025 - I listened to the audiobook. The dual narrators make these stories. I enjoyed it again the second time.

I loved this so much. The perfect touch of magic, and workplace romance. The found family is fantastic and just makes this book feel like a warm hug. As always Amy Landon & Will Watt bring an A++ performance!

I received an ALC (Advanced Listener Copy) of this audiobook from NetGalley & Dreamscape Select & Lovewrite Publishing.
With each book, this series just gets better and better. We have wit and spice right from the very beginning. Kaia and Thane did not expect to be more than a one-night thing, but fate, it seems, had other plans.
Only they both know how badly things can go if you’re dating someone you work with, and Kaia wants nothing to do with it. But chemistry and desire can’t be denied.
Can they open up and let each other in? Can they work side by side, and still keep their distance or will the sparks that fly be more than just fire?
I, for one, loved the way this book turned out. It was easy to follow, and we also got a little rundown of the series, so you don’t have to go back and re-read if you don’t want to.
The narrators, as always, smash it out of the park and give life to this whimsical story.

What a lovely story! I've enjoyed all of Tricia O'Malley's The Enchanted Highlands books, but Wild Scottish Gold is my favorite so far! I just really clicked with these wonderful characters, and I love how O'Malley weaves the magic into the story.
The audio version of Wild Scottish Gold is beautifully performed by AmyLandon and Will Watt. They do an marvelous job with this one!

Wild Scottish Gold AUDIO by Tricia O’Malley is another of her series of romances taking place in Loren Brae, Scotland. Kaia has inherited a cottage from an elderly aunt and as her life was going nowhere at home, she decided to give Scotland a try. On her way she meets a man, knowing she will never see him again. She gets to Loren Brae, finds her cottage, rents a space in a much larger blacksmith shop and begins her new life. Then, the man appears, Thane. He is the owner who had been out of town on a job. She is embarrassed but still very attracted. She knows better to get involved with someone at work, but does anyway. She also get involved with some women in town, who appear to be steeped in magic. They have an exclusive society which is charged with the protection of the town from the kelpies, who are mythical beasts. So easily she slips into the magic of the place, even the ghost coo that haunts the place. She meets a crow that speaks to her, literally.
This series is so much fun. A little bit of magic. Plenty of spice. Interesting characters. Enough reality to make it all believable. Kaia has low self-esteem and so believes that all the good coming to her is undeserved and begins to self-sabotage. Between her parents and her best friend at home, she begins to see reality. Then, when her local friends come to her assistance, she truly sees the light. Thane loves her. That is another reality she can’t believe at first, but comes to. She manages to settle into her life in Loren Brae. This series is so fun. Just enough magic. Just enough romance. Just enough spice.
The narrators are Will Watt and Amy Landon, both of whom are excellent. Amy feels like she’s in a race to finish and reads so fast, I had to put my iPod on .75 to enjoy the story. Will is perfect.
I was invited to listen to Wild Scottish Gold by Dreamscape Select. All thoughts and opinions are mine. #Netgalley #DreamscapeSelect #AmyLandon #WillWatt #TriciaOMalley #WildScottishGold

This is the seventh novel in Tricia O'Malley’s The Enchanted Highlands series of paranormal romantic comedy. The series is set in the magical small Scottish village of Loren Brae, home to likable humans and mythological creatures. This story could be enjoyed on its own, but I think it will be more enjoyable if you have read some of the previous books introducing Loren Brae’s residents and magic.
This story started with a one-night stand, which is a trope I’m not particularly fond of, but it worked ok here. Other tropes are rivals to lovers, workplace romance, he falls first, and protective hero.
Our female lead, Kaia, is a metalsmith from the United States who has inherited a cottage in Loren Brae from a relative. She is renting access to a nearby forge, not realizing that it’s owned by the male lead, Thane, who has been regretting not getting her number after their night together.
I had mixed feelings at times about the romance aspect of this story, but Kaia is strong enough to explain what she wants, and Thane gets his act together and figures out how to help her feel safe without trying to control her. They have some very sweet moments towards the end.
This was a fun story with some steam, some suspense, and some laughs. It’s a good choice for those looking for a cozy romantasy with spooky elements. I especially enjoyed the friendships; the magic and mythology; and the ghosts, familiars, and animal companions, who are really the highlight of this series.
The audiobook production was excellent, and I enjoyed the duel narration by Amy Landon for Kaia’s point of view and Will Watt for Thane’s point of view. Both narrators have pleasant voices, good pacing, great accents, and are able to convey humor and emotion effectively. I recommend the audiobook for those who enjoy humorous magical romances (although be aware that it is occasionally not safe for work or children).
I received a free copy of the audiobook through NetGalley. I volunteered to provide an honest review.

Tricia O'Malley did it again, she wrote another one of my favorite books! I love the world she has created and have absolutely fallen in love with all the characters. I have read multiple of her other books and this one was just as stunning as the others. I loved the romance and the meet cute in this one and I loved the raven familiar especially! Cant wait to get my hands on another one!

4.25⭐️ Another wonderful romance with a fantasy element. I’ve enjoyed this series so much. The ghost coo especially.
5⭐️ on the narration by Will Watt and Amy Landon. Truly a fantastic combo! I think a Scottish accent is my favorite to listen to in an audiobook. So dreaming.
Kaia just needs one more big sale. Then she can start over in the cottage she inherited in Scotland. She doesn’t expect to find the handsome Scottish man she had an impulsive night with again. Thane happens to be a local blacksmith vying for the same big project as Kaia. The fires in their blacksmith workshops aren’t the only thing that’s getting stoked. Their chemistry is palpable. When Kaia shows up with bruises everywhere from Kelpies, she must trust in Thane to believe and help her.
Thank you @netgalley @triciaomalleyauthor and @dreamscape_media for the advanced listener copy.

Kaia moves to Scotland looking for a fresh start, but she wasn't counting on Thane. A one night stand with a stranger feels like just what she needs, until she realizes that they have to work together. And as if navigating her continuing attraction for Thane wasn't enough, Kaia learns that she's a forge witch.

I really liked Wild Scottish Gold! Both narrators really brought the characters to life; Thane in particular. His voice was so deep and growly. I would definitely read more from Tricia. I loved the blend of real magic with the magic of Scotland, and how Kaia found where she belongs.

4.5⭐️ Rounded Up!
I love this series more and more with every installment! This book started off with a bang (literally) and the spice wash top notch throughout the story. Very “I can’t quit you” vibes. I loved Kaia! She’s ridiculously relatable and she’s been through some shtuff. Thane is absolutely adorable! I love his relationship with his niece and the fact the he will go out with his manicures still on. He’s a protector and he’s downright swoony. I really enjoyed seeing them mix in with the rest of the characters from the series and, while I am VERY excited for the next book, I am dying for Agnes and Graham to have their moment in the spotlight 😆❤️🔥
As with the rest of the series, Amy Landon and Will Watt are amazing with their narrations. They make it easy to plan on listening to this entire series at least once more in the future. In fact, this series has turned me into a big fan of both of them and has convinced me to look up other books they have narrated.

Kaia Bissett came to Scotland for a fresh start. No entanglements. No mistakes. No mixing business with pleasure. But one impulsive, scorching night with a stranger shatters that promise—especially when the stranger turns out to be Thane Blackwood. Her new landlord, and apparently, her biggest rival. And then the story begins.
I liked this short story! Liked the characters, the magick system! I really enjoyed it!
The narrators did a great job!
Thanks Netgalley and the publishers for this audiobook!

Wild Scottish Gold by Tricia O’Malley is an engaging and delightfully spirited addition to her ongoing series. Brimming with charm, magic, and a generous dose of romance, this novel delivers a captivating escape into the mystical highlands of Scotland.
O’Malley masterfully weaves elements of fantasy with sizzling chemistry, creating a narrative that is both whimsical and sultry. Readers will find the magical elements particularly enchanting, adding depth and intrigue to an already compelling storyline. The vibrant setting and character dynamics are enhanced further in the audiobook version, where the Scottish accents bring the atmosphere to life in a truly immersive way.
As part of a series, Wild Scottish Gold benefits from familiarity with previous installments. New readers may find it helpful to begin at the start to fully appreciate the character arcs and world-building. That said, this novel still stands strong on its own, offering plenty of adventure, romance, and mystical allure.
Overall, Wild Scottish Gold is a lively and satisfying read, perfect for those who enjoy romance with a touch of the otherworldly and a setting as rich and wild as the story itself.

Story: 3.5 ⭐ (Rounded up)
Spice: 2.5⭐
Narration: 4 ⭐
Amazing narration as always. It was performed by the same narrators from the other books in this series. Great expressions, accents, and production.
Always take me back to Loren Brae. I love this enchanted place and would love to visit!
I was a little sad that I did not connect to the main characters in this book as I had the others. I think it may be the romance as I like attraction, but I prefer the tension/slow burn. This was more of an instalust/love situation. The plot was great; you get a lot of cameos from the other characters including our favorite magical ones. There is always emotional growth which was present as well.
I would totally recommend if you have read her other books in the series!
