A blossoming relationship that is bombarded with negative outside force s trying to pull them apart. Thoroughly enjoyed the steadfastness of true love and specially the resolution and redemption at the end.

I received an ARC of this book and leaving my review voluntarily.

This is one riot of a story! Between the multitude of villains , Marina’s marital situations , nasty debutantes , and vengeful ex-fiancés, you will need to hold onto your hat. I adored Caleb and his burning desire to know who the beauty is that he eyes at a ball. Marina’s caught in a situation she does not want and chased by a man who she definitely wants to avoid and finds herself in the middle of the biggest mess! Watching these two get to know each other , and seeing Caleb’s protectiveness shine through was so sigh-worthy. The reader learns real quickly who has atrocious attitudes and figuring out who is the true villain is well hidden. I love the who-done-it type mysteries and this one does not disappoint. The characters feel very real and the chemistry between Caleb and Marina is a treasure. Loved every minute of this!

Want to visit the world of Bridgerton and solve a mystery? When Marina enters her third season on the marriage mart, she has basically decided that marriage is not for her. That is...until she ends up unchaperoned in a room at a ball with her hostess, Lady Crowden and a shadowed gentleman who is most certainly not her husband. In a crazy turn of events, the bumbling suitor Marina was trying to avoid and her nemesis, Elizabeth, barged into the room where Marina was hiding. Lady Crowden, attempting to preserve her reputation claims she caught Marina with the newly arrived and titled Earl of St. Aiden, Caleb Halliwell. While he was in the market for a wife and had previously caught sight of Marina's beautiful eyes, being forced into an immediate engagement was not part of the plan. To make matters worse, the man Marina jilted at the altar two years ago had just returned to London society and was at this very same ball. Could things get any worse? As Marina and Caleb spend more time together and realize that this engagement could be the best mistake that ever happened to them, there is an attempt on their lives. But, who was the target? Who is the perpetrator, and will it be the only attempt? With the pressures of London society mounting, assumptions that Marina will jilt yet another man, and jealousy raging from a cast of characters, is a happy ending possible?

I really enjoyed the historical romance and the mystery aspect of this book. The writing from multiple perspectives really helped to give the reader clarity as to the character and mindsets of Marina and Caleb as well as the minority characters, all of which play key roles in the story. Marina's character had development over the course of the book but seemed less dynamic and more flighty than Caleb's character. His personality was fairly clear from the beginning with actions throughout the book that were consistent and demonstrated how he was so unlike the rest of the ton and knew himself and his values. Cycling through the points of view of Mr. Nutter, Lady Crowden, Elizabeth, and other secondary characters was a great writing technique to move the story along and add key plot points and explanations that added to the mystery and kept the reader guessing as to who was responsible for the events that occurred. By the end, everything did make sense, however, the beginning few chapters (after the introduction with Marina's first wedding) felt rushed like an attempt to very quickly introduce all the characters to the point that I was confused who was who for maybe 30 pages. Adding a bit more context or events or something to help slow the book down in the opening chapters but give the reader more character development of some of the minor characters earlier on when we are going to keep facing them throughout the book would have helped or waiting to introduce them in more details when we first encounter them could help the reader feel clarity.

Overall, this was an enjoyable, easy read with likable FMC and MMC and some humorous situations sprinkled in. I would recommend this book and am curious about others by the author based on this read.

What happens when a lying jilted fiancé, an undesired suitor, a rival tormenting debutante, and a conniving socialite all try to interfere with Miss Marina Ashton’s chances of a successful Ton marriage. Follow Marina thru all the written and unwritten rules of Regency England’s Ton to find out if she can make a suitable match in her third season. Who will it be? Will it be a love match? But wait…who is trying to injure her? Maybe even kill her?

I found this to be a well paced story that kept my interest. There was an appropriate amount of Regency details without being overwhelming. There were several unexpected twists that nicely added to the flow of this book. I’m only sorry that I hadn’t read some of the other books in “The Hellion Club” series by Chasity Bowling as several characters in previous books were referenced. I guess that just means that I can add to my “want to read” list! Anyone who enjoys reading historical romances would like this book. You won’t have long to wait as its release date is May 27, 2025.

Marina Ashton was supposed to wed during her first season, but ended up leaving the groom at the alter because of things she found out about him. Now she is in her third season and only pretending to find a husband.

Caleb Halliwell, Earl of Aiden is only in London to find a bride that meets all the conditions of his inheritance. When Caleb sees Marina across the ballroom he instantly knows she is the one, but he needs an introduction in order to speak to her.

Marina and Caleb are forced into a betrothal due to circumstances not of their making but of other people forcing it. While not how Caleb pictured being with Marina he is happy that it is to his benefit. Marina is not sure how she feels about being betrothal to a stranger but wishes to avoid any type of scandal. Will two strangers find love together under the circumstances that they were put in?

I loved Marina and Caleb’s story!! The book was very entertaining, absolutely delightful and really kept you engaged in the story!! I liked all the twists and turns the book took before Caleb and Marina actually made it to the alter and really liked how the book ended!! I highly recommend this book!!

‘Has anybody seen my Earl?’ is book 10 of The Hellion Club. I hadn’t read anything by this author before but I have some catching up to do since this book is great! Creative plots, great character building and romance development. The characters are clever, smart, genuine and really draw you in. I love that the conversations weren’t switched in favor of unnecessary confusions but that the main characters had honest and real conversations from the start and really got to know each other. The book also paints an honest picture of the hypocrisy of Society where a man who earned his money through hard work was looked down upon in favor for a ‘gentleman’ who never worked but squandered away the fortune he had thanks to the hard work of others. Or the double standard where not going through with a wedding was marked scandalous, but having secret affairs while being married was acceptable.
The book is about love, vanity, pride, envy, wrath, greed but also about love, mercy, loyalty, friendship, redemption and forgiveness. Underneath the romance and the mystery, it is also about external superficialities versus hidden inner qualities that you don't always see immediately, and the lesson that you should always look beyond the surface and look for the hidden gems - search for them - in each other and in yourself.
A very engrossing read, well written, well paced, with depth and great character development. The conclusion had me on the edge of my seat (I would’ve had her uncle Devil accompany me!) although the last villain made my sigh an exasperated sigh… (There were so many villains in this book; one less wouldn’t have hurt.)
I will definitely keep this author in mind for future books, and I want to back track and read other books in this series. I already know that the lovestory of Devil & Willa, Marina’s uncle & aunt, is featured in book 1 ‘A Rogue to Remember’. So that one is on top of my To Be Read list, and I will explore from there. I am happy to have found another great writer! Go read this book, you won’t be disappointed!
Thank you Dragonblade Publishing, Netgalley and author for providing an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Okay I have to say Caleb is a pretty amazing book hero. He's so practical, protective and supportive of Marina. She on the other hand puzzles me by hiding the truth behind leaving a man at the altar. Her family and friends are clearly supportive, so why does she not lean on them??

This was a fast read that was well paced and interesting enough yo be read in one sitting.

After Marina has fainted at the alter and has not wed her intended, she is the subject of much unfavorable gossip among the ton. When she is mistakenly caught alone with a man she just met, she feels she must accept his proposal of marriage. Caleb, while attracted to the beautiful Marina, is surprised into offering her marriage. However, there are many people that are set against this marriage and will do anything to stop it Can they have their happily ever after? I received an ARC from NetGalley and Dragonblade Publishing for my honest review.
