The witch's curse. The demon loosened. The unmasking.

There is no one in the realms of Christian liturature like Billy Coffey. Stephen King might come close in his better times (and I love Stephen King, he aims for the heart in the best of meanings), but there is more wisdom and hope in Billy Coffey's works. And the raw, the real and the calling the spades the what they are! Billy Coffey is unpretentious, knows what despair and pain is and the stories he is telling are about us in our humanity and nakedness of souls.

But they are not for the faint of heart. They are not for the traditional, conservative reader. Or maybe they are, to push us out of our boxes into the realm of heart-wrenching truths, sin, pain and redemption.

A group of kids are out to celebrate in the mines. But mines are forbidden and the witch lives nearby. And love and duty bring the kids to her, and they leave with curse that will fall over all the city. And it unleashes the demons inside the human hearts in their shock, suffering, anger and urges. And the hearts are tested. And the old sins, which are really the barrier against the living truth, are out on light.

Deeply recommender. Wise, powerful, and yet humbling and bringing the light.
