Love this author! Book is set in South Carolina. We previously lived in the Carolinas. It's lovely there and she describes it so well. Love her character development!

This begins in the mid 1950's when a plane explodes over the town & pieces fall to the ground around the area. Edith is home with her small son & her abusive husband has just left their home. She hears a thud & finds something that fell from the plane, which she keeps secret (& continues to do so for years).

Fast forward to current time, where we meet a mom & her young son, travelling to SC to meet up with family. Sometimes predictable. A cute story, but also deep and a bit of puzzle/mystery.
