This was my least favorite in this series. Which really sucks cause I really loved this series and was very excited for this story! Starting with the things I liked. Seeing Ophelia work through her grief and her fears was really well done! I loved getting to see inside her mind. The friendships are the heart of these stories and that was very much honored in this book! I was worried with how the last book ended we would need get to see the bffs together as much but it really did not feel that way! The way Justine was so present for her when she needed her! I just loved all the girls friendships. We really only get to see 3 of the 4 girls but they have such a great bond! Getting to see them grow is one of my favorite aspects of connected standalones. I like the historical aspects when it came to mountain climbing for women. Edie Cay gives a breakdown of her research and drops the facts at the end in the acknowledgments. I am glad I read it cause it was interesting to learn what truths were hidden in this fictious story.
What I did not like about this book was the romance. Which for a romance book really sucked. Julian drove me crazy with his obsession with the age difference between him and Ophelia. Which was in the double digits with her being 26 and him being late 30s. Something that truly did not matter. Like it was not even an age difference that matters this day in age. It would not have mattered in the 1800s. But he literally thought about it none stop! It was so annoying! He also acted way more childish then Ophelia. But he would call her naive when really she was just this honest person who could not imagine being another way. Who was just trying to connected in a deeper level. I think he should have begged more. That man should have been begging on his knees. Period.

Joined by grief for Ophelias father, a sense of adventure and a need to see Ophelia achieve her dream of reaching the pinnacle of Matterhorn, Julian and Ophelia bond. What starts as friendship, turns into more, except that Julian makes mistakes that puts a wrench in the burgeoning relationship. The groveling was well written for these two adventurers to get their hea.

Into The Sky With You is the fourth and final title in the Ladies Alpine Socitey series and brings us a unique romance between Ophelia and Julian, both climbers, both devastated by her father’s death, and perhaps, both are headed for a different kind of adventure of the heart (right after they climb that next mountain). I have not read the earlier books in this series (although after Ophelia and Julian, well, I’ll be going back for the other ladies’ stories), yet I didn’t feel the least bit lost. Anything I truly needed to know was found in either the dialogue or the narrative.

I adored Ophelia. For a woman of this time period, she stood out from the rest as a strong woman with determination and focus. Yes, she was destroyed by her father’s death, and it also took strength to go beyond the grief and face the mountain, and her future again. Julian was everything I love in a hero, a man facing his own challenges yet open to loving a strong woman. Together they shine.

If you love a romance that deals with grief and healing, coming out stronger on the other side, a couple that will face challenges, but their love shines through, then you’ll love Into The Sky With You by Edie Cay. It’s a well-written romance with believable characters, deep friendships, and challenges to be faced. I’m going to enjoy going back to the beginning of the Ladies Alpine Society.

Julian comes back to London after years away in South America exploring its mountains. He's got no family left but a mentor, an almost second father to him. As soon as he arrives he goes to visit him to show him everything he mapped out, but turns out he has died and his family, particularly his daughter is still in deep mourn but incredibly interested in her father's protégé's explorations because she's an alpinist herself. They share their love for the mountains and have so much in common... (read and find out just how much).
This is the 4th book in a series.

MY OPINION:
I love historical romances, and honestly the alpine twist was amazing (I'm gonna need to start a granola boy tag). I really liked Ophelia, she's strong, knows what she wants and isn't concerned about finding a husband at all. Julian is the guy I'd like to fall for, definitely. Thoughtful, smart, resourceful, driven...
Their friendship is cute and the eventual development of a romantic relationship is frustrating but I get it.
However I did not like him first thinking she was her mother (whom he used to have a crush with, it seems) and like having that little debate of wether he liked her for the resemblance or for herself to then proceed to think of her as a girl. She's 28! For that time she was well beyond childhood, and by the standards a spinster... He's only like 10 years older, super normal for that time to have that age gap with your wife... I wanted to slap some reason into him, but men.
I had fun reading this, I liked the descriptions and the characters and I couldn't put it down. I never felt like I missed something from the previous books and definitely will read them.

Into the Sky with You? More like launched me straight into the stratosphere of feels. I couldn’t put this book down if I tried—and believe me, I didn’t try very hard.

Ophelia is an inspiration. Climbing the Matterhorn and getting published at a time when women were expected to do little more than look pretty and stay quiet? ICONIC. She’s smart, stubborn, and a total force of nature with zero interest in anyone else’s expectations. I want to be her when I grow up (I say from the comfort of my couch).

And Julian? Ugh, my heart. The pining. The LONGING. I was feral.

I haven’t read the other books in this series yet, but clearly that’s a personal failing I’ll be correcting immediately. Also, can we talk about Ophelia and Justine? That friendship lit up every scene. I’ll be reading her book next, no question.

And Ophelia’s relationship with her brother? Those scenes had my whole heart. It’s so refreshing to see a family figurehead prioritizing her happiness over outdated societal expectations. More of that, please.

Thank you to NetGalley, Dragonblade Publishing, and Edie Cay (you absolute QUEEN) for the privilege of receiving this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Second Chances in the Shadow of the Matterhorn
Ophelia’s last mountain-climbing expedition ended in tragedy, leaving her grief-stricken and weighed down by guilt. Just as she begins to lose herself in the aftermath, Julian—a friend of her father’s—enters her life. Their relationship is anything but simple. It brings both heartache and the possibility of healing.
Julian encourages Ophelia to return to the Matterhorn, urging her to let go of the blame she carries. He promises to climb with her, hoping the journey will help her find peace. But misunderstandings and emotional wounds threaten to keep them apart. Will Julian keep his word? And will Ophelia finally reach the summit—both literally and emotionally?
This Victorian romance is heartbreaking at times, but it is ultimately a story of courage, resilience, and second chances. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend it to readers who appreciate emotional depth and historical settings.

This has been an interesting and enjoyable series, full of adventure, family, and romance. Although the Ladies' Alpine Society is not all related by blood, they have formed a tight-knit group that means more than is found in most families. Sir Julian Dunstan, an explorer and typographer, returns to London but finds that his mentor has died as a result of an accident while climbing the Matterhorn. He finds an instant connection with the man's daughter, Ophelia, resulting in a friendship that promises to develop into something more. Unfortunately, Julian makes some bumbling mistakes, causing Ophelia heartache, but being the strong-minded woman that she is, she ploughs through the pain and throws herself into planning the Ladies' next ascent of the Matterhorn. Fortunately, Julian comes to his senses in time, and even though he has to do some grovelling, he does manage to get to the small party in time to join them in their climb. The novel comes to a lovely conclusion with the promise of more adventures in the future. I received a copy of this romance as a gift through Dragonblade Publishing and NetGalley, and this is my honest and voluntary review.

Book four takes on another journey in this heartwarming story that takes us to the Matterhorn. Ophelia portrays the perfect lady grieving the loss of her father. Julian, her father's protege, shows up after ten years of being a recluse. Together they deal with grief, disappointment, age differences and more. Beautifully written and with great emotions, this series continues to intrigue me and keeps me looking for the next adventure.

This book had a wonderful premise (female mountain climbers!) and a hot Hero (he's an adventurer that makes maps!) but alas, it had a major issue that I could not get passed. After the Hero and heroine meet--and spend time together for like, a month, he starts sleeping with a scandalous widow--that he doesn't even like! That was a dealbreaker for me. This is my first book by this author, but I'm kinda blown away that she would include this in a HR. I don't know of anyone who would want to read a story where the Hero is sleeping with someone else while he's getting to know the heroine.
