Can Jasmine Mas write anything that doesn’t intrigue me? Her female main characters are strong and simply put legendary. Their prowess and determination will be something that lives rent free in your head. Thank you Harlequinn and Jasmine Mas for the opportunity to read and review.

Do we have a name for books with really strong adherence to tropes that are fast-paced and fun easy reads? It feels like a genre in and of itself and Psycho Shifters is a great example of this kind of book. Reverse Harem/Why Choose, Omegaverse-adjacent (A/B/O breed designations but a very different spin on them), Abusive/tragic backstories, Government control, The Fancy Dress, The Leader, The Mysterious One, The Spoiled Bad Boy, the Best Friend, All Sleeping in One Room, The First of Their Kind Protagonist, Secret <spoiler>, and the list could go on. There are parts of this book that weren't really for me, namely the very loose to non-existent understanding of consent. It was easy to think of this fantastical realm as pretty old school but there were these insertions of modern tech and suddenly there was this magic that turned a party into a reality show broadcast around the realm. Not wearing underwear when the dress is so short it could show because somehow that is worse than showing your private bits? But it was face paced, full of action and drama, and I would happily go on to read more. Sometimes scoffing at some of what I'm reading is part of the fun.

This was a wild ride that took me a little time to get into. The whole omegaverse setup was totally new to me so I definitely spent the first part of the book trying to figure out how everything worked. By the end I felt like I had a solid grip on the world and its rules. Once I was fully invested the book ended and I nearly ran right off the cliff. 😂 I wasn’t ready. I loved that all of them have tortured pasts and got this far despite that. I’m not a huge fan of the bully trope though so I think that’s main reason for not rating it higher. I am excited to get to Aran’s story later on in the series because I think that’s going to make for a really good book.

Psycho Shifters had a wild, intriguing premise that made me think I was in for a fast-paced, steamy, chaotic ride. I expected paranormal drama, alpha tension, and dark romance vibes. And while it delivered on the chaos, everything else felt a bit off.
The story moves quickly, but not in a way that felt satisfying. Characters are introduced fast and without much depth, and I found it hard to connect emotionally to any of them. I wanted more world-building and more time to sit in the tension before everything escalated. It all felt a little rushed.
The main character had a strong voice, but I struggled with some of her choices and especially with how she was treated by the shifters. Their behavior often crossed into toxic territory, and I found it hard to root for any of the relationships. I get that the book leans into the darker side of romance, but it never gave me the emotional grounding or chemistry I needed to stay invested.
There were a few twists and intense moments that kept me curious, and I could see glimpses of something more layered underneath the surface. But it didn’t come together in a way that felt cohesive or earned. The writing felt repetitive at times, and the pacing made it hard to fully engage with what was happening.
If you love over-the-top paranormal drama with a very messy cast and don’t mind toxic dynamics or loose world-building, this might be your thing. But for me, it didn’t land.

🖤 Semi-bully RH
🖤 Dangerous, morally grey alpha men
🖤 Found family vibes, battle training, and “touch her and die” energy
🖤 Dirty banter, unrelenting angst
🖤 No damsels, just a girl who’s been through hell and is still standing
Psycho Shifters throws you headfirst into a dark, twisty, reverse harem world with alpha chaos, brutal tension, and one FMC who’s ready to burn it all down before she ever plays victim.
This book? FERAL. Unhinged. Messy. Chaotic. And I devoured every single page.
You’ll be clutching your Kindle, side-eyeing the MMCs, and begging for book 2 the second you hit The end!

This book is feral—and I mean that in the best way.
Sadie is thrown into a brutal shifter world with three alpha jerks (Jax, Ascher, and Cobra) who make it clear she’s not welcome. But she’s not some scared little thing—she’s angry, traumatized, and ready to burn everything down if it means surviving.
This is a slow-burn, semi-bully-style reverse harem with zero fated mates or insta-love (so far). The guys are at times awful. The tension is brutal. The vibes are dark. But it’s addicting in that can’t-look-away kind of way.
Not for everyone, but if you like your shifter romances mean, messy, and scorching with potential, Psycho Shifters is worth the chaos. And the new duet style recordings are great!

I knew I would like this book but I definitely enjoyed it more than I expected. I didn't expect this book to be so spicy and dirty! I feel like the first spicy scene just came out of nowhere, but it worked. I did feel like some of the scenes didn't flow well into the next scene which is the only reason I didn't give it 5 starts. Totally worth the read though. I even requested the next books in the series from my library.

I was entranced by this whole book. The fmc, Sadie, had such a dark background story that instantly had me on the edge of my seat and rooting for her. I was really surprised when the first twist occurs and she is brought to the alphas. I loved the mmc's personalities and how they all become so protective and possessive whenever they think Sadie is in danger or in pain. The plot was really well laid out, the humor is refreshing and perfectly timed, and the found family was unique and fun. Then the cliffhanger ending?! That last chapter was needed for more in depth understanding. I cant wait for the next book!

Psycho Shifters by Jasmine Maas is an absolute five-star knockout! From the very first chapter, I was pulled into a wildly unique world that masterfully blends danger, desire, and dark humor in all the right ways. Maas has created a setting that feels raw and unpredictable—unlike any shifter universe I’ve encountered before—and I couldn’t get enough of it.
The characters are truly the heartbeat of this story. Each one is distinct, chaotic in the best way, and brilliantly developed as the plot unfolds. Whether they made me laugh out loud, roll my eyes, or unexpectedly melt, I genuinely loved them all. Watching their relationships evolve added emotional depth that made the intense moments hit even harder.
The touches of comedy were perfectly placed and much needed—offering a refreshing balance to the high-stakes action and twisted romance. Maas has a gift for timing, and it shows in every one-liner, awkward moment, or unexpected laugh during the chaos.
This book has it all: sizzling tension, off-the-wall personalities, sharp banter, and a storyline that kept me up way past my bedtime. I am officially obsessed and already ready for more. If you’re into shifter romance with a dark edge, found family vibes, and characters that will live rent-free in your head—Psycho Shifters is a must-read!

Absolutely ate this book up...seriously, in a day! I've never read a shifter/omegaverse before and what an introduction. The world building and magic system was interesting yet easy to follow. Perfect for someone new to the genre. Sadie definitely made the "top FMCs" list. Her strong will yet self-deprecating humor was a great mix. One minute I'm cheering on a bad a** and the next I'm cracking up! And I loved the vastly different personalities and back stories of the 3 males (hello, reverse harem!) and reading their POV. I immediately purchased other titles by the author and can't wait to finish the shifters series!

Thank you to Jasmine Mas and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this ARC and listen to this ALC and give my honest review!
In all transparency here, I LOVED and DEVOURED The Blood of Hercules - so I was super excited to read this book; it had been on my TBR for a while.
First I’ll start with the audiobook - the narrators and the duet style narration was perfection! Mollie Stark was wonderful and really added to the FMC’s comedic inner monologue and quips. (As soon as I heard Teddy Hamilton’s voice I knew it was going to be good.)
I really enjoyed the banter and tension in this book. Especially between Sadie and Cobra. (Who doesn’t love a tortured shadow daddy?) And that twist though! I will definitely be continuing on to read the rest of this series!
If you enjoy the following, you’ll enjoy this book:
-Why Choose/Reverse Harem
-Enemies to Lovers
-Bully Romance
-Shifters
-Inexperienced FMC/Older confident MMCs
-Touch her and die behavior
-Shifters, beasts, and fae
-Secrets and spies
-Battle training
-Angst and banter
-Sword crossing

***4.0 Stars***
Overall,
While this book follows the formulaic genre of paranormal shifters and romance, I found this book very refreshing and FUNNY. I laughed out loud multiple times. The FMC finds herself in an untenable situation suffering for years, finally a reprieve she is tested and finds out that she is the first female Alpha and is sent to go work at one of the portals to the never ending war, where of course there are 3 giant handsome alphas waiting for her. This book is written in first person and we get to understand all of the FMC's thoughts and man this girl is hilarious. Other than that the usual tropes apply, I would say this is a bit of a slow burn, don't expect much in the way of romance in this book. I will definitely be reading more from this author and the rest of this series.
*** Thank you Netgalley for the chance to read this book in exchange for my free and honest review***

Let’s talk about Psycho Shifters—because wow, this book is a ride. If you’re into dark romance with intense alpha energy, feral shifters, and a heroine who refuses to back down, you might want to buckle up and dive in.
The story centers on Quinn, a tough-as-nails survivor with a sharp mouth and a dark past. She’s thrown into the world of shifters—four of them, to be exact—who are aggressive, unhinged, and wind up completely obsessed with her for reasons she doesn’t understand. Each guy brings his own brand of crazy to the table (seriously, they’re not called Psycho Shifters for nothing), and the group dynamic is tense, chaotic, and very steamy.
What I loved most about Quinn is that she’s no damsel in distress. She’s been through it, but she doesn’t let it break her. She’s fierce, smart, and not afraid to stand up to a pack of dangerously hot men who clearly aren't used to being told “no.” There’s violence, twisted power plays, and moments that had me side-eyeing characters—but that’s exactly the appeal if you enjoy dark fantasy romance.
Is it toxic? Oh yes. Is it also addictively entertaining? Absolutely.
The writing is fast-paced, dramatic, and full of tension—both sexual and emotional. Jasmine Mas really leans into the dark themes, so I’d definitely check the trigger warnings before diving in. But if you’re a fan of the “why choose” trope and enjoy morally grey characters who blur all the lines, this one hits the mark.
Final thoughts:
If you're into messy relationships, alpha male chaos, and strong heroines who give as good as they get, Psycho Shifters will keep you turning the pages way past bedtime. Just prepare yourself for some serious emotional whiplash... and probably the need for book 2 immediately!

2.5 ⭐️ I have some pretty mixed feelings on this one. On one hand I read this book in less than 24 hours. On the other hand, it felt all over the place, and the plot/storyline was very chaotic. There was too much going on, so it was hard to see character development (or understand why certain characters made some of their choices).
I would have liked to see some other POVs from the guys, since the majority of the book was Sadie’s POV.
Overall, it was a very easy read, and I’m interested enough to read the second book, but I’m hoping for a little bit more cohesiveness, and some more world building.
Thanks NetGalley for the ebook.

This is a guilty pleasure book, and we are here for the vibes! I read this after being introduced to Jasmine Mas via Blood of Hercules. While the story was vastly different from BOH, her writing style clearly carries through both. Can't wait to start the next one!

Most of the time, I read to be transported—give me lush prose, inventive worlds, complex plots, and stories that make me feel.
𝘉𝘶𝘵 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦𝘴?
𝘐 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘢 𝘨𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘺 𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘦𝘴𝘦𝘣𝘶𝘳𝘨𝘦𝘳 𝘰𝘧 𝘢 𝘣𝘰𝘰𝘬.
Something deliciously messy, drama-drenched, and gloriously unhinged that I can devour in one sitting.
𝗘𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿: 𝙋𝙨𝙮𝙘𝙝𝙤 𝙎𝙝𝙞𝙛𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙨.
Is it a good book? Maybe not in the traditional sense. But is it fun, fast-paced, and absolutely unputdownable? Oh, 100%.
You’ve got the classic resilient, snarky orphan with a tragic past, constantly underestimated—surrounded by a harem of possessive, obsessive, completely deranged alphaholes who 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 want to hate her… but can’t.
What can I say? It’s hella fun, absolutely ridiculous, hilariously extra, and I’m immediately picking up book two.

I listened to the audiobook of this one so I can't say much for the ebook. This book was MUCH better (in my opinion) than her Blood of Hercules book but still not my favorite. The audiobook was fantastic though so I gave it a pretty high rating.

Psycho Shifters takes place in the Cruel Shiftersverse series about Alpha and Beta shifters tasked with protecting the realm. The book came out in 2022 but has been rereleased with a special edition paperback with sprayed edges as well as a duet audiobook with multiple narrators.
Ever since reading Blood of Hercules, this series has been on my tbr and I can tell you, if you loved BoH as much as I did, you’ll probably love this series too. They have very similar tone, characters, plot, themes and just overall vibes. I’m looking forward to reading the rest of the series. The narration was spot on with the multiple narrators all doing their own characters throughout the chapters so it made it easy to follow along with which character was speaking.
⚔️ reverse harem

🔥 slow burn
This is a quick, easy to digest omegaverse romantasy. It was fun, a bit wild but the world building was really easy to follow along with. Some great humor mixed in. I would recommend it to friends.
Thanks to NetGalley, Harlequin Audio, Harlequin Trade Publishing & Canary Street Press for the eARC and ALC copies to read and listen to.

God she's so funny! I genuinely think jasmine mas and I would get along so well. Her characters have the best humor. I couldn't put it down.

I did deduct a start due to not knowing this ends on a cliff hanger! I thought this was an interconnected standalone, not a true series. This book is also a slow burn but it was UBER GOOD.
