Ideal for readers who crave intense, emotionally charged fantasy romances with strong, complex female protagonists navigating power struggles and forbidden attractions in a high-stakes world.

This was a very fun and quick read. Shifters? Why Choose? MM? An air of mystery? This story had it all and it was fairly entertaining! We follow our girl Sadie who is stuck in a horrific living situation as a servant to an abusive beta, and all her life believes she's a null shifter (the lowest class that exists with no extraordinary abilities). Her only distinguishing features are her long platinum white hair, ruby red eyes, golden skin, and comparatively short stature. When she's randomly grabbed for testing one day, it turns out she is the first female alpha to exist. She's then brought against her will to a fortress called Portal 3 and comes face to face with three gorgeous, asshole shifters Jax, Cobra, and Ascher, who aim to make her life a living hell. I think the premise of the story was very interesting and had a lot of great ideas that made for a fun read. This type of book is very squarely within the genre that I truly enjoy but I think the execution fell a bit flat for me in terms of the writing and the character development. The writing was a bit juvenile and we just didn't get to spend enough time with the characters or have any real explanation to understand the dynamics of the main characters together. Why are the MMCs so against a female alpha? We know they think she might be a spy for the fae but we didn't really get much context or are shown why the fae queen is so evil to warrant the aggressive treatment of Sadie. I also think it was odd that the first of the 3 MMCs to pursue a sexual encounter with Sadie was Cobra given how he doesn't talk to women ever (except for Sadie). I would've thought he'd be one of the last to pursue her, as they were all attracted to her. Unfortunately, at the end of the day, I just didnโt feel a strong emotional attachment to any of the characters in this story to care enough about how their storylines progress. I do think readers who love romantasy, bully romance, and fast-paced stories will enjoy this book! Thank you to Netgalley, Harlequin Trade Publishing, and Canary Street Press for the eARC in exchange for an honest review.

I went into this book knowing only that there were shifters, omegaverse, and why-choose. That checked a lot of boxes for me. The story was so entertaining! I loved Sadie's humor and personality. With all that she went through in her life, it's shocking that she could even still joke.
I have so many theories running through my head about the characters and where the story is going. There's definitely more to what the alphas mean. Speaking of alphas, I like them all for Sadie. Their unique looks and personalities drew me in. I'm so glad this is a why choose series. I would hate for Sadie to have to only choose one. I can't wait to continue this series! It's so addictive. I finished this book too quickly. I highly recommend it!

This is a 4.75 for me rounded up. I really really enjoyed this book. I don't know what it is about Jasmine's writings, but I just zoom through them and can usually finish them in a day if I start them early enough. Her books are just such fun page turners that it's so easy to get lost in them. One thing you know when you are reading a Jasmine Mas book is that there will be sarcasm, banter and self-deprecating humor and all of which I love. So many of the lines and situations had me giggling like whenever Sadie tries to run and acts like it is torture because same, I hate running. I would say this is more bully than enemies to lovers though they certainly don't like one another or at least they like to think they don't, but all the MCs are drawn to one another in a way that shows they are just fighting their feelings so there is a lot of tension build up to go along with this being a slow burn. But anyone who doesn't love slow burns I would totally recommend this one because I think you will enjoy it because again the way Jasmine writes its doesn't feel like a long, drawn-out ordeal but rather it just fits best with the story and what is going on. Now this was actually a reread for me as I read this when it was indie published and I had just as much fun reading it now as I did then. Which shows me that this book and author are well on their way to being not just an auto buy author for me (which they already are) to also being one of my comfort authors/books.
Now for the characters you first have Sadie who has been abused her whole life, and you can see it not only on her body from the scars but also in the way her mind works. All she really thinks about was surviving and taking care of her sister and that was before her ALPHA designation revealed itself so rather than just trying to survive her abusive situation, she now has to survive literal monsters that she is expected to fight. While her alpha form is very powerful and up for the task her regular self.... let's just say it needs work, a lot of it. But thankfully she has the 3 MCs there to help and support her... sort of. I really enjoyed the MCs who are not only fighting their feelings for her but also 2 of the men are together as well. I loved all three for different reasons, but my favorite is as always, the more psychotic of the men which is Cobra who is also the shiniest and I also love shiny things. I am so excited to reread this series and fall back in love with these characters and even though I know what happens next, I am again excited to read the next book as this one leaves on a great cliff hanger.
This book is about Sadie who is an indentured servant just trying to survive as best as she can. She is abused by the man (Dick) who took her in and has been since she was a child. She is just trying to survive the next two years when her adopted sister will finally be home from school, and they can run away together. But one night during a violent confrontation with Dick another man breaks in and takes her to the mystical lake. This lake is used for testing people when they come of age to see if they are an Alpha, Beta, Omega or a Null. It is when this stranger test her blood in the lake that it is revealed that Sadie is an ALPHA! And not just any alpha but she is the first female alpha ever recorded. But that little fact doesn't save her from what happens next. Because alphas are immediately consigned to fight against the monsters that comes through the portals because alpha's have the special ability to shapeshift into powerful monsters capable of fighting back. With these results she is dumped at bootcamp where she comes under the care of the three other alphas that are in charge on this facility. These alphas are not just her trainers but her roommates as well and they are not what you would expect. As they as one is covered in tattoos, the other literally has jeweled skin and the other one has HORNS! But the one thing they have in common is that they are super powerful and super arrogant and they don't think she belongs because not only can she not fight but she also can't shift yet so she should just get out of the way and leave. But she is about to prove them wrong and when they hear her roar, she is going to make them eat their words.
I received an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review.

This book was so much fun! ๐ค
Shifter romances and reverse harems?? ๐ฅต Yes please. The MM scenes were chefโs kiss and donโt even get me started on the tattoos and piercings ๐๐ if you know, you know.
Itโs wild, sexy, and addictiveโthe perfect escape if you love spicy paranormal with power plays, possessive love interests, and badass female leads.

Well that was a fun ride. Having read Blood of Hercules previously, I had a notion of Jasmine Masโ signature sarcastic humor to process dark themes in which the FMC seeks self-validation by her own worth while being heckled and prodded by morally gray men who are irrevocably attracted in a why choose fated mates kind of way. While Blood of Hercules uses Greek mythos as itโs foundation, Psycho Shifters uses a conglomeration of fantastic beings, primarily shifters and fae.
If you want a quick, fun, easy-world-to-dive-into read with humorous one-liners and frustrated alphas crumbling at the sight of a seemingly weak but resilient FMC? This is your book. Is it revolutionary? No. Is it a fun fucking time? Hell yeah. It does not take itself seriously, although even through the humor, there is a subtle commentary that you can relate to the current world.
I really wanna listen to this in the new audiobook format to see the performance, which probably will elevate the reading experience.

I could not put this one DOWN! It was incredible and I knew it would be with Jasmine and the set up of the world and the building and I just need more immediately. I can't believe it has taken me so long to find this series and so glad that it got picked up and will be in book stores everywhere to get more attention.

Thank you so much for the ARC for my honest review! I loved this so much! I'm left with so many questions! I will definitely recommend this book to my followers and will continue this series. I loved the fmc! I love Jasmine's writing style!

As a huge fan of Blood of Hercules by Jasmine Mas I just had to check out her other works! I did enjoy this book and it also leaves on an intense cliffhanger that leaves yo wanting to. know what happens next! I thought the humor throughout this book was so fun and added quite the touch of uniqueness to this book. There is a lot of death and pain throughout the book so if someone is looking for a lighthearted romantasy book this isn't the series/book for then.
I definitely had high expectations from blood of hercules and this did not disappoint! definitely another unhinged (in the best way!) read that left me wanting more and wanting to head to book 2 immediately! Definitely a fast paces book having you flip through the pages as well on the edge of your seat.

I was not expecting to hear about the toilet troubles our main character was having......
That was quite the surprise.
Im not sure this was my cup of tea if im honest... one of the MMC was constantly calling women sluts and that just rubbed me the wrong way. like im sorry am i supposed to like this man??
The world building was not great and i really wish there was a bit more and it was paced properly.
Not my favorite but not the worst thing ive read.

5 Stars!!!
I absolutely devoured this. After Blood of Hercules (which I loved), I had high expectations, and Jasmine Mas delivered again. This book is chaotic, intense, a little unhinged, and I couldnโt put it down. The chemistry between the characters is wild, and the darker elements are written so well. Itโs fast-paced, messy in all the right ways, and exactly what I needed. Jasmine Mas is quickly becoming a go-to author for me.

This one had an interesting concept and some unique world-building that caught my attention, especially if youโre into paranormal romance with a twist. The plot moved at a decent pace, and there were moments of genuine tension and intrigue.
That said, I struggled a bit with the character developmentโsome felt a bit one-dimensional or rushed. The romance was there, but it didnโt quite grab me emotionally. Also, a few plot points felt predictable or underexplored.
Overall, it was an okay readโfun in parts but didnโt fully deliver on the potential. If youโre a big fan of the genre, it might be worth checking out

As a very vocal lover of Blood of Hercules, I of course had to start working my way through Jasmine Masโs backlog and Iโm kicking myself for not doing it sooner. While some elements felt similar to Blood of Hercules, a lot of this was pretty unique and made this stand out from other shifter books on my shelves. That mixed with some (a lot) of bullying and some sarcastic humor made this hard to put down.

These beasts are brutal and slightly terrifying, but you wonโt be able to help but swoon at their protective instincts around Sadie. Watching them slowly soften up to her makes them just lovable enough to look past the many red flags these shifters are throwing.
The ending sent this story into a direction I never saw coming, and put a bit of a pit in my stomach BUT I trust that things will be made right. Hopefully. Please.

The story felt slow with not much momentum or buildup of mystery. I was hoping for more development in the characters, their world, motivations, and relationships beyond just physical descriptions. There are cool elements like different realms, creatures, magic, and politics, but they arenโt really explored in depth. No one seems to question much of anything, which made the story feel a bit flat and less engaging than it could have been.

Amazing. No notes. Perfection.
Love this why choose! (Because seriously I could not choose between them if you paid me)
This book isnโt even out yet and Iโm waiting on the edge of my seat for book two- it was that good!! I ate up the whole thing in one sitting.

*Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC!*
Jasmine Mas does it again!
I love the new cover and the story is just as amazing. I can't wait for the audiobook!!

This had potentialโdark vibes, hot shiftersโbut it felt too chaotic and rushed. I couldnโt connect with the characters, and the romance moved way too fast. Just not for me.

Alpha deliciousness. Is it just me or does Jasmine Mas write male characters that have us swoon. I was entertained from the beginning. It was emotional, it was full of action and blood with that spice that makes one blush. I would definitely love to see where this story is going.

โPsycho Shiftersโ by Jasmine Mas is a fantasy novel centered on Sadie, a lowly servant who discovers she is, in fact, an Alphaโa top-level shifter with immense potential. Taken to an outpost tasked with guarding a portal to the Fae lands, Sadie finds herself in the company of three other shifters: Jax, Cobra, and Ascher. While the premise holds promise for intrigue, adventure, and character growth, I found the book deeply unsatisfactory in execution.
The concept of the book is intriguing at its core. A servant discovering her hidden, powerful identity is a classic fantasy trope that, when done well, can lead to a transformative journey filled with self-discovery, action, and emotional depth.
Unfortunately, the potential of this premise is squandered. The book fails to balance the development of its characters, plot, and world-building. What could have been a richly layered fantasy feels instead like a superficial story bogged down by repetitive writing and underwhelming execution.
The writing style in โPsycho Shiftersโ comes across as juvenile and unrefined, making it difficult to immerse oneself in the story. This is particularly evident in Sadie's inner monologues, which are often awkward and cringeworthy. Rather than offering insight into her thoughts or emotional landscape, these dialogues feel tedious and repetitive.
One of the most glaring issues in the prose is the overuse of certain words, which creates an impression of laziness and lack of variety. For example, the word โhideousโ is used 11 times, โmassiveโ appears 111 times, โlargeโ is repeated 118 times, and โlittleโ is used a staggering 177 times. These repetitions detract from the reading experience, making the text feel monotonous and amateurish.
Sadie, the protagonist, struggles to evolve beyond the archetype of a downtrodden heroine who lacks confidence. While her newfound status as an Alpha could have opened avenues for character growth, the portrayal of her self-perception is frustratingly one-dimensional. Sadie's repeated self-deprecation, where she views herself as "small and hideous," becomes tiresome, especially when contrasted with the incessant reminders of how "huge and gorgeous" the other Alphas are. This dynamic not only diminishes Sadieโs relatability but also perpetuates a shallow lens through which the characters are viewed.
The supporting characters, Jax, Cobra, and Ascher, are likewise underdeveloped. Each of them seems to fall into predictable tropes, and their interactions fail to add depth to the story. Of particular concern is Ascher, whose point of view is riddled with misogynistic undertones. His frequent derogatory references to women as "sluts" (the word is used 18 times in the book) are not only offensive but also detract from any potential complexity his character might have had. Instead of contributing to the plot or providing meaningful conflict, these perspectives serve only to alienate readers.
Overall, โPsycho Shiftersโ by Jasmine Mas feels like a missed opportunity. While the premise had the potential to deliver an enthralling fantasy tale, the execution falls short in almost every aspect. The writing is repetitive, the characters are underwhelming, and the plot lacks direction. The misogynistic overtones in Ascher's point of view further mar the reading experience, making it difficult to recommend this book to anyone.
For readers seeking a fantasy novel with compelling characters, engaging prose, and a strong plot, there are far better options available.

I received an arc of this book in exchange for my honest review. I was so excited to read this one after how much I loved Blood of Hercules and Jasmine Mas's writing style. Her characters have hilarious inner dialogue that adds another layer to the story line. In this book our main character Sadie is an unassuming, petite female who is actually an alpha in a world of shifters. After being abused for years, she is taken to a training facility/war camp where she encounters the other three alphas who run it, Jax, Cobra and Ascher. The men assume from her appearance that she is lying and a spy. Having to prove herself again and again, Sadie uses the Numb that she developed in her abusive childhood to help her fight off people five times her size. When battle comes and her shifter form is shown, the men finally start to see her for what she is, and start to think of her as their possession which creates a whole different issue. This book has mentions of child abuse, sexual assault, and other violence, please read triggers accordingly. Thank you to NetGalley and Harlequin for giving me the opportunity to read and review this publication.
