✶ PRE-READING ✶
I expected a functional, straightforward guide aimed at younger adults or those just starting out on their own. I was hoping for clarity, organization, and real-world usefulness - something less abstract and more hands-on. I think everyone can always use a bit of advice so I was hoping to find some useful bits in here.
✶ POST-READING ✶
As I thought... this is definitely geared toward readers who want clear direction and structure. The tone is friendly but firm, and the checklists and planning pages are especially helpful if you're someone who likes systems and order.
It surprised me by... how comprehensive it was. While some parts felt very American in context - particularly around healthcare, insurance, and financial systems - the core advice is widely applicable. It covers an impressive range of topics without feeling overwhelming.
✦ RECOMMENDATIONS ✦
For anyone looking for a solid foundation in life skills, particularly young adults just starting out. It’s also a good refresher for anyone who feels like they missed some key “how to be a grown-up” lessons along the way. Best suited for readers in the U.S., but still useful beyond that with some regional adaptation.

This is a great start to consider necessary topics. I felt like it was a good starting conversation with big sister to a younger sibling…Before you start to research things for yourself.
Definitely recommend taking most of these things with a grain of salt. I’ve had plenty of questions. Not expert advice in any of these topics by any means.
