I had previously read one other book by this author, which I loved, so I was excited to jump into her newest release.
This book is written from Anna's point of view and alternates between two time periods, "before Theo's death" and present.
Six months after Anna's husband, Theo, dies unexpectedly, Anna meets Parker, and a whirlwind romance begins. Just about the time Parker moves in, strange things start occurring in Anna's house. It seems as though everyone has secrets, and Anna isn't sure who she can trust.
As the twists began, I started to wonder if I should root for Anna or if I should hope that bad things happen to her. I was unsure if she was shady or a good person. Eventually, I had the "bad guy" figured out, but I just didn't know what his motive was.
All in all, this book is definitely worth your time. You won't be disappointed!
Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to read this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion/review.

Well, this was a twist that I did NOT see coming! Diabolical actually. This was a fun read full of turns that’s are completely unpredictable and with an unreliable narrator that’s hiding much more than we think.
I loved the time jumps in the book that would go back and give you more insight as you go, the story unfolds in a very unique way with bread crumbs to pick up as you try to piece together what’s really happening. It’s twisty, it’s foreboding and it keeps you guessing.
I did find getting into the story a little slow, it really does take a while for the story to build. As I was reading this was slightly off putting, but after finishing I think it was well done to set the tone for the events of the book. But at the time, it did drag a bit.
I could have done without the purposeful creating suspense sentences at the end of most chapters, it felt forced and took away from it for me. I don’t know why those types of things bother me, I’d just prefer for the story to be told without unnecessary and forced devices. I didn’t need the last sentence of chapters to be things like “I had secrets too”, “he can never find out”, and others along those lines.
Overall, it was a fun read, and I loved the unreliable narrator and the avalanche of twists at the end.

I jumped into this after reading previous books by the same author- and I’m glad I continued, as I started reading I had no idea how it was going to play out although there were small hints throughout, I kinda predicted it near the end but not exactly how it played out, kept me intrigued and continuing page after page to get more!
I do recommend!

It was brilliant a great read! Amazing… it was filled with twist after twist in the end, which was something I never saw coming… If you’re after a book that you won’t be able to put down, this is it.
Three words to describe this book are: enthralling, breath-taking and hard to put down! I loved it!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ stars!

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for this arc.
I absolutely LOVE Anya Mora. I’m yet to find a book I don’t enjoy and this certainly didn’t disappoint! I couldn’t put it down and pretty much devoured this book in one sitting. Just when I thought I had it all figured out the twist hit me and boy was is good!

Anya Mora writes books that grab you and won't let you go. There are no perfect marriages but this marriage is full of secrets. There is a surprise twist at the ending.

When you lose your partner, you fall into a deep, dark hole. But you have to keep going, because your daughter is counting on you, and even though you're deeply grieving yourself, you try your best to help her cope with the loss too.
You swear you’ll never marry again, but apparently, Cupid has other plans…
What starts as a fairytale slowly but surely turns into a nightmare. Sometimes a frog turns into a prince, but sometimes a dream prince turns out to be nothing more than an ugly toad.
Who is behind all the strange things suddenly happening, and who is trying to manipulate whom?
I'm a fan of stories with dual timelines that switch between past and present. I found the concept of the book intriguing, and I was fascinated by Anna’s job.
The author skillfully wove emotions into the story and showed that grief is different for everyone. Sometimes it brings people closer, but other times it drives them apart. Communication is key, but apparently, it’s sometimes easier to pour your heart out to a stranger than to a loved one. Once you’ve lost your way, it’s often hard to find it again, and the grief that started it all only grows heavier.
My brain is half-cooked from all the thinking and guessing—yet I came up with nothing. I never could have predicted this ending.
A well-developed idea with a steady pace and a fluent writing style. 5 shining stars.
Thank you.
