I really enjoyed this book from start to finish. Ana’s journey from feeling powerless to discovering her true strength felt genuine and engaging. The story balances action, romance, and political intrigue well, keeping me hooked throughout. The relationship between Ana and Leon is complicated and slow-burning, with plenty of tension and emotional depth. I appreciated how both characters had flaws and layers, making their interactions feel real. Zara Storm’s world-building is immersive without slowing down the pace, and the magic system added a unique touch that I hadn’t seen before. The supporting cast was well-developed and brought warmth to the story. The ending left me eager for the next book, with a cliffhanger that promises exciting developments ahead. I’m definitely looking forward to continuing this series.

Even though I didn't get this read in time before it was archived, I'd still like to leave a review, I loved it, a great story from start to finish, action packed and wasn't just a repeat of some of the fantasy books I've read, a real stand out for me, have preordered the second in the series

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this e-arc in exchange for my honest review..

This book was so, so good. If you love the fae, if you love royalty and political intrigue, secret identities, and enemies to lovers - this is such a fantastic read. The religious sect was the only issue I had with the book, but even the violence pertaining to that was really done well. The whole world was incredibly well down and trust me when I say - you won't be able to put this book down! It's 350ish pages of nonstop violence and magic and it's utterly delicious.

A little bit more world- building, quicker pace and it would be perfect. I enjoyed the story, the characters and the build up. It set up a great opening to the series. Enjoyed a lot!

Curse of the Sun and Stars by Zara Storm absolutely blew me away. If you love books with Fae, royalty, hidden magic, secret identities, and a delicious enemies-to-lovers arc, this one’s for you. Add in a fanatical religious sect, high-stakes violence, and a world full of mystery, and you’ve got a fantasy that’s impossible to put down.

The pacing was perfect—I flew through the pages. The characters were intriguing and well-developed, and while I guessed a few plot points ahead of time, it honestly didn’t take away from my enjoyment. The story is that strong.

I freaking loved it!

Huge thanks to #NetGalley and the publisher for providing an ARC to read. I feel lucky to have gotten my hands on this. If you’re craving fantasy romance that hits all the right beats—danger, tension, passion, and magic—read this immediately. I rate this 5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ and about 2-2 1/2 🌶️🌶️.

Started out slow but picked up the pace as it went on. I feel like we could use more world-building, but maybe we will get more in the upcoming books. The romance-to-plot ratio was good, and I always like an enemies-to-lovers storyline. This book delivered everything it was supposed to, so I will be reading the second book!!

A solid first book of a new series. The world building was adequate, but could use some more - hopefully this is filled in more in the second book. The characters are interesting, the pacing good and the story/plot was developed well enough. I think that where this book seemed weak, or lacking in information that the second book will fill that in. I certainly think it is worth the read and enjoyable enough to finish off the series.

Curse of the Sun and Stars by Zara Storm is a fast-paced, romantic fantasy adventure that skillfully blends enemies-to-lovers tension with high-stakes magic. The story follows Lira, a fiercely independent heroine cursed by a prophecy, and Cassian, the brooding prince sent to hunt her down. Their chemistry crackles from their first encounter, and Storm does a fantastic job of letting their relationship simmer and spark without rushing the payoff. The world-building is rich and immersive, balancing ancient myths with new twists. What really makes this book stand out is its emotional depth. Lira’s struggle with destiny and choice is palpable, and Cassian’s own journey is handled with nuance. Storm doesn’t shy away from hard topics—loyalty, sacrifice, and the price of freedom all play major roles. The supporting cast is memorable, too, adding humor and heart.

I really enjoyed Curse of the Sun and Stars! The world-building was rich and interesting, and I loved seeing Ana grow stronger and more confident throughout the story. The magic system took a little getting used to, but it added a unique touch once I settled in. The romance had good chemistry, though I would have liked a bit more time for their connection to build. A few parts felt a bit slow at the start, but the story picked up with some great twists and tension. Overall, a fun and engaging read, and I’m definitely looking forward to the next book!

A dreamy, mythology-inspired romantasy that feels like stargazing in book form. It started a bit slow, but once the magic system clicked, I was in. The writing is lush and the romance is very much “fated but complicated.” A great pick if you love poetic prose and celestial vibes.

4.5 stars!!

This is the 1st book of the Fated to the Sun and Stars series

Y’ALL. This one hit HARD. 😭🔥
The description of this book hits true - it really does give Beauty and the Beast meets Anastasia in a dark fae court filled with betrayal, magic, and enemies‑to‑lovers tension that will eat your soul

Highlights that I loved:
– Ana/Morgana: a hidden heir born without magic, raised in isolation and betrayal—she’s scrappy, vulnerable, and completely badass when the throne is on the line

– Leon, the fae prince: ruthless, and fiercely territorial 🔥 he's the perfect MMC; feral, complicated, unforgettable

– Enemies-to-lovers done right: that sharp, savage pull between them is chef's kiss, and it builds slowly before exploding—right when you’re emotionally unprepared

– Court intrigue: a “viper’s nest” of betrayal, conspiracies, and shadowy players—so many layers of tension, power grabs, and emotional stakes

- Magic and stakes: as the court tightens its grip and secrets unravel, the tension skyrockets - LOVED the plottwists.

Minor Quibble: Some pacing wobbles in the early chapters—felt a bit slow before the tension fully hooked me. But once the betrayals and magic show up? I couldn’t tear my eyes away .

📚 This book is perfect for fans of:

- Court drama and intrigue
- Enemies-to-lovers romantic tension
- Betrayal-filled kingdoms & power plays
- Emotionally charged romance with high stakes

🖤 Curse of the Sun and Stars is a fully immersive, heart-wrenching romantasy. It will break you and put you back together—leaving you ready for the next boooook!!

A Dazzling Debut: Curse of the Sun and Stars by Zara Storm
Zara Storm kicks off her "Fated to the Sun and Stars" series with a captivating first installment, Curse of the Sun and Stars, a fantasy romance that plunges readers into a world brimming with ancient magic, intricate plots, and a compelling fight for survival. This dual POV narrative expertly navigates the perspectives of its protagonists, ensuring a seamless flow that avoids repetitive rehashing of events—a refreshing touch that keeps the story moving at a brisk, engaging pace.
At the heart of the tale is Ana, a young woman inexplicably devoid of magic in a realm where it dictates existence. Kept alive by a mysterious daily potion concocted by her nursemaid, Ana's years of imprisonment shatter when she uncovers a dormant, ancient magic within herself. This discovery propels her into a world she never knew existed, filled with dangers and revelations at every turn. Fate, in its twisted way, brings her face to face with a Fae Prince who once abandoned her to her presumed demise. Ana is left with a monumental choice: succumb to the desire for vengeance, or risk everything for a man who might betray her all over again.
Storm's world-building is a definite highlight, crafting a rich and believable magical system that feels both unique and well-integrated into the narrative. Readers will appreciate the sense of discovery that permeates the story; rather than being spoon-fed information, you truly feel like you're uncovering the mysteries alongside Ana. The side characters are well-developed and contribute significantly to the plot, adding depth and intrigue to the unfolding events. And of course, the romance woven throughout is sure to appeal to fans of the genre, offering a blend of tension and undeniable chemistry.
Curse of the Sun and Stars is a strong start to what promises to be an exciting series. If you're looking for a fantasy read with an interesting magic system, compelling characters, and a romance that keeps you guessing, this is definitely one to pick up. I'm eagerly anticipating book two!

3.5* Rounded Up

This was an overall fun book and a great start to a new series. The world building was well done and the author did a great job making the FMC likeable, and she really went through it. The beginning of this book was well done as it had world building and character background to make the reader care about both of the main characters. The MC did not have as much background so it was a bit more mysterious as far as his loyalties but his POV's gave enough of a personality to make him interesting. I think the only part that kept me from rating it higher was that the development of the relationship felt very insta-lust for me and I am not a huge fan of that. I wanted a tad more development of a mutual understanding/friendship before them being all of a sudden into each other. I do like that their relationship expectations were realistic to the plot which was refreshing. Overall this was a great start to a new series and I am looking forward to the next book as this one ends in a pretty epic way.

I received an eARC thanks to Netgalley and Publisher, all opinions are my own.

Curse of the Sun and Stars is the first book that I have read by Zara Storm. The pacing is good and it is full of well developed characters that you will love and a few that you will hate. It has secrets, betrayals, lies, murder, kidnapping, love, friendship, magic, fae, and royalty. It has a little bit of everything. It is an enemies to lovers fantasy. I love how Ana loves so deeply and is willing to do anything, including putting herself in danger for those that she loves. I really like Leon’s character even though there is so much more that we don’t know. I can’t wait to read what happens next for Ana, Leon and the rest of their group.

A solid 4 star read. I found this to be very typical of the romantasy genre, enemies to lovers, hidden magic, oppressive rulers etc but I did find it to be an easier read than some other similar books which I appreciated as I don't always want a book that feels like a slog. I would have liked there to have been more of a build in the relationship between the MMC and the FMC as it seemed a bit instalovey for me.
As I was nearing the end of the book I was thinking along the lines of yeh okay its another romantasy that was good but maybe I wouldn't carry on with the series, but then the ending happened and now I need a sequel please.

This book is everything I love and want in a romantasy book. It was addictive and bingeable, and I couldn't put it down. I loved Morgana ("Ana") and getting to see her character arc from weak, powerless, self-doubting prisoner of sorts to a more confident, powerful princess she always had to potential to become. Leon (aka the Nightmare Prince) is a perfect, scary, murderous, broody MMC who is only soft for Ana, despite his best efforts to resist his feelings for her. I knew the ending was leading up to some kind of betrayal, but I'm so confused and hurt for Ana and can't wait for the next book in the series! The epilogue felt a little disjointed, being the only chapter from Sophos POV, and unnecessary as it didn't seem to give any information we weren't already given. Thank you Netgalley for the e-ARC!

It was a little slow to get through the initial Otscold portions, but it definitely helped to establish Morgana's character and motivations throughout the rest of the book. I really liked how Morgana escaped the ship by orbiting a rowboat to drop into, and look forward to her development in future books.

This was quite a sweet story.
It revolves around Ana (Morgana)-human and Leon (Leonidas)-fae prince, and it has 2 POVs.
Morgana has grown up in Gallawing, a manor in Otscold, Trova, sheltered from the world around her as she is sick and powerless, and has to take medicine each day to be able to survive made by her dryad nanny ( Etusca). She is fed up and feels like she is actually imprisoned there. One of the guards that are supposed to protect her wants to SA her, so she has been planning for a long time to escape. The evening she's planned to escape, she goes to her friend's Pub to say bye, but she encounters Leon and his group, one of them having an argument with her friend's brother. She realises they are fae and tells him, while also trying to strike a deal with Leon to help her escape the guards from Gallawing. He refuses and leaves her to be captured and taken back. That night Bede ( the man who wants to assault her), decides to do the deed, but she manages to save herself and kills him in the process by burning him to a crisp with her power.
When her parents die, she then finds out the shocking truth of why she was kept hidden at the manor, and then she will soon be on the move until the end of the book with Leon and Alastor, thinking she is a captive, and the religious group with too much power in the kingdom trying to capture her after her almost assasination. Nothing is as it seems, and I'm very curious as to how the next book will go.
I've finished reading this book in less than a week.
The story is quite fast paced, so you don't really get bored at any point. Ana is very loyal and I liked that about her a lot, and Leon is great, but we don't find out much about it through the book apart from teeny tiny tidbits. I also like that Ana is strong willed and had enough of other people telling her what to do, and wants to train so that she can look after herself and will never be powerless again.
What I didn't like about this book was how predictable the villain and some parts of the story were. There were however other plot points that were not predictable and I never knew how it will end and what will be happening.
The names were very random and it took me so long to remember some, and the magic system was quite hard to understand initially but you get used to it after a while. I also didn't like that the fae were only a little bit better than humans ( lifespan and a bit stronger), basically not what you expect fae to be. The relationship as well felt more like a father daughter relationship as she is quite naive and Leon has to teach her a lot of things.
As I said before, I will definitely want to see how book 2 goes as the ending was very short and didn't want Leon to be nasty really, but hoping he will redeem himself in the next one.

A Magical Start to a Promising Series!

Curse of Sun and Stars pulled me in with its lush world-building and unique magic system. The characters were engaging, especially the strong female lead, and I enjoyed the slow-burn romance that added just the right amount of tension. Some parts felt a bit slow in pacing, but the twists and emotional depth made up for it. Overall, a great fantasy read that leaves me excited for the next book!

Thank you Net Galley and Victory Editing for this ARC!
