This book is *insane* in the best way possible. It's not just one story, it's like, three completely different but totally connected stories about immortality, crazy choices, and just finding your place in the world, spanning centuries.
First, you're in 1532 with María making this desperate, lif altering decision, and it's so intense. Then, suddenly, you're in 1827 with this young woman in London who's just aching for something more, and it's super romantic and tragic. And then BAM, you're in 2019 Boston with Alice, who's on this wild journey of self-discovery and revenge after something major happens.
The way Schwab weaves these narratives together is just genius. Each one is so captivating on its own, with characters you actually care about, but then they all connect in this deeper, almost philosophical way about life, death, and what it means to truly live. I honestly couldn't put it down. If you're looking for something totally unique, beautifully written, and just unforgettable, you HAVE to read this. Absolute 5 star perfection!

I had heard from early reviews that the beginning of this book is a slower pace and audiobooks for me always help with that!! So an early sneak peek at the audio is huge! And with one of my favorite narrators?! Yes, please!
It’s always helpful when an audiobook that has multiple POVs has multiple narrators too - big win!
The audio is so well done here I will be continuing the rest in this format too!

I am SO excited for this book. I am already so intrigued by the three story lines and I am prepared for Victoria to destroy me.

I had the chance to listen to the first 12 chapters of Burn Our Bones in the Midnight Soul, and it’s safe to say I’m completely hooked. V.E. Schwab’s writing is lyrical, atmospheric, and layered with emotion. From the very first chapter, the story pulled me in.
Though I’ve only had a sneak peek, what I’ve heard so far promises another powerful and unforgettable novel. So far this book carries echoes of The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue with its emotional weight, while carving its own distinct space with a more gothic, supernatural tone. I can’t wait to finish the full story and see how it unravels.
Disclaimer: I received an eARC of this book for review consideration and am voluntarily sharing my honest thoughts.

I don't think V.E. Schwab can write a book where I am NOT imeadiately hooked. This teaser had me salivating and I wanted to to sink my teeth in for more. ;)
This book is atmospherically gorgeous and her writing is the perfect blend of sappic yearning and gothic suspense. The story follows three women from the 1600s to present day and, like always, she can perfectly blend the past with the present. Her characters can fit in their time frames perfectly while still being very identifiable. I cannot WAIT to pick up the full version of this. If you were a fan of Addie, you will be a fan of Maria, Charolotte, and Alice.

I am so excited to listen/read the rest of this book! Even tho it was just a sneak peek, it was perfect for what I was hoping for! Got my signed copy yesterday and cannot wait for the moment to sit down and read it!

Received an audiobook arc from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. The arc contains the first 12 chapters. there are 3 fmcs from different time periods so there are 3 POVs. there are also 3 narrators for the audiobook. I think the audiobook is great to showcase each FMC storyline and you tell the difference between the narrators when they switch POVs. 12 chapters were still an early part of the book so there was a lot of world building and backstory to go through. I thought the beginning was very intriguing. and I can't wait to get the book to finish it.

I only got to listen to a sample of this book but from what I gather it is gothic, queer, brutal, and beautiful—this does not seem like your typical vampire story. It definitely hooked me and I can't wait to finish the story someday.

I need more!! I can't wait to listen to the rest of the audio book. I am very curious to see where the story goes and what happens with the characters. This book feels very dark and mysterious and I am here for it. The narration of this book is pretty good. I've listen to a few books that Julia Whelan has narrated and enjoyed them all. I am definitely most interested in Maria's story. Luddy in Alice's story is a very mysterious and I feel like she is key in some part of the story. Alice would probably be the one that I'm least invested in of the 3 but I want to see how her character plays out in the story. I did feel like it took a minute to really get into the book but by the end of the sample I was invested and feel the need to get my hands on the rest of the story.
I will post my full review on fable, goodreads and storygraph once I finish the full book.

Absolutely love it! This author is an auto-buy for me. They consistently create engaging stories, and this book is no exception.

I think this sneak peek is AMAZING, but now having gotten into the rest of the book post release I wish this sneak peek was longer. This book already has me hooked.

This book was so gripping! I really enjoyed the gothic vibes it delivers along with the historical atmosphere it presents. This was such a great sneak peek into what the book will introduce to us readers and I can’t wait to finish the book as it was quite intriguing and so interesting. I will be purchasing the book to continue the story and see what lies ahead for Maria.

I LOVED getting to listen to the sneak peak before buying the book. You get a huge chunk for a peak too! And the book is PHENOMENAL. So real and genuinely heartbreaking. I already have the full book in my cart. I HIGHLY recommend listening or buying this book!

5 stars
I neeeeeed the rest of this book ASAP. I can't wait to find out more of what happens. I received this audiobook sneak peek from Macmillian Audio on NetGalley. The Narrators are amazing of course!!

During this preview of Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil, I enjoyed the smooth writing describing characters and their appearance, the world around them and any interaction between the characters. Schwab uses words that richly emphasize and the constructs of the sentences are seamless making the mind's imagery easily obtainable.
The reader for the audiobook does a good job conducting the tools in the writing helping bring the story to life easily.
This seek peak definitely has me intrigued and excited to pick up the full length story!

I need more! This was just a sneak peak but it was hauntingly beautiful! V.E. Schwab writes the most atmospheric tales. Julia Whalen always brings characters to life and I am always in awe when she narrates a book.
So far it was a captivating listen and I am ready for the rest!
Thank you Netgalley and V.E. Schwab for a sneakpeak of the audiobook!

This sneak peek has me even more excited about this story than I already was. I cannot wait to dive into this book. Lesbian vampires had me sold and this sneak peek confirmed my thoughts: this will be an absolute delight to read

The narrator did a great job!
Since its only a sneak peak I don't have a full review, but so far I am loving the book!

This is my first book by VE Schwab and wow I cannot believe I’ve never read their works so far. Bury our Bones in the Midnight Soil sneak peak has me hooked with this story. The storytelling is great, I’m able to visualize what Schwab is conveying. The audiobook narrator has a captivating voice. I’m so glad this releases this month because after this teaser, I need to jump into the story fully.
Thank you NetGalley and publisher for the sneak preview

I'm glad I waited until the say before this published because this little teaser was amazing! I would have perished if I'd had to wait too long to continue reading!
