This was a sneak peek - just the first twelve chapters...but wow I'm hooked and can't wait to hear more. Spain in the 1500s and Boston in the 2000s (we haven't gotten to London in the 1800s yet). I'm looking forward to seeing how they tie together. Great start!

I listened to a sneak peak of this book releasing tomorrow. Albeit just 12 chapters, this book was amazing and I couldn’t stop listening. It was engaging and informative. I can’t wait to finish this book. I find Maria’s story my favorite so far.

I was hooked immediately, and cannot wait to finish this audiobook when it’s finally out in the world. Love the characters we’ve met, so far. And i’m definitely intrigued to see where they go from here.

I thought this was a full audiobook, so I was disappointed when it was a sneak peek. The amount I was able to listen to was good and I did enjoy the narrator.

This 100% should be called a "tease" and not a sneak peek, because WHAT IS THAT?!?! So thankful I waited until the last minute to experience this because the way this book gripped me from page one and continued to grip its majestic fingers into me has me counting down until I can read the book at midnight.

I was worried about the various POV's in different timelines, but from what I have briefly tasted.... that wont be a problem what so ever. So thankful I had the foresight to order special editions of this book!!!

This teaser has me hooked and frothing for the release date!!! Lesbian vampires, say less, I am not usually one for period pieces and time jumping but this was written so well. I cannot wait to finish it!

This is incredible so far. The narrators are amazing and I can't wait for the full audiobook to be released!

I already know I'm going to love this book because V.E. Schwab is my favorite author and vampires are my favorite beings!

I love the narrators for Maria and Alice. Maria, narrated by Julia Whelan, has a sofisticated, deep tambre and a nearly Mid-Atlantic accent and can pronounce the Spanish accents perfectly. Alice, narrated by Katue Leung, has an authentic Scottish accent!

Unfortunately, I already know that I don't particularly love Marisa Calin as a narrator, not because of any fault of her voice, but I listened to a few audiobooks narrated by her that I didn't love the books themselves, and so that's turned me off. There are a few books I've liked that she's narrated, so I usually am fine once I know I'm enjoying the plot and characters. She does have a lovely voice with a mellow British accent!

This first few chapters of this book are such a tease, but I'm so glad I got a sneak peek! What trouble with Maria get into? What will happen between Alice and Lottie after their night together???

Fantastic, give me 14 of them!
No, seriously, I loved this preview. V. E. Schwab's prose is stunning in this; the plot is super intriguing, and from the time I spent with the characters, they all seemed awesome. The different narrators did a great job, too! I'm incredibly excited to listen to the whole book once it comes out.

Thank you, NetGalley and Macmillan Audio, for the sneak peek ALC.

After having the chance to preview the audiobook for Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil, I cannot wait to get my hands on the full thing. The characters are all distinct and well-written. The voice acting is phenomenal and the different accents are so impressive. V. E. Schwab’s world-building is stellar. As someone who sometimes struggles with the beginning of books, (essentially, right before the plot kicks in), this book had me hooked immediately. I’m really looking forward to finishing this one, and I will absolutely be recommending to my friends. I also really appreciate the diverse representation!

From the first page, this audio sunk its nails into me and wouldn’t let go. It's a sapphic gothic dream (or nightmare?) told through multiple points of view and unraveling across multiple timelines. I’m absolutely thrilled that tomorrow 6/10/25 is release day because I am HOOKED and I need to hear more! It should honestly be illegal for V.E. Schwab to release a sneak peak, this is torture 😭

Setting aside my melodrama, I do appreciate the chance to dive into the first 12 chapters - so thank you to Netgalley for the opportunity!

Oh I am SO excited for Bury Your Bones in the Midnight Soil by @veschwab to release tomorrow. I was privileged enough to attend a tea with Victoria at the beginning of the year and received an arc of this sapphic vampire novel, but something told me to wait for the audio.

That being said, I received a sneak peak with the first few hours of the audiobook (thank you @netgalley & @macmillan.audio) and WHEW was I right to wait.

Narrated by Julia Whelan, Katie Leung, and Marisa Calin, all three characters truly have their own voice in every sense of the matter. This sneak peak has me so invested already that I’m dropping everything to jump into my physical copy until the full audio releases tomorrow.

I can already tell this book is important and is going to bowl us over. I cannot wait to see where this journey takes us!

I did not want that to end!!! I can’t wait to read the rest tomorrow! There is so much left up in the air for each character, and I’m so excited to find out what is about to happen with Maria! I love V.E.’s writing and the way these stories are starting. This left off in the perfect spot, and I hope to find more sneak peek opportunities like this! So much fun!

The start of three stories, alternating from one to the next as we begin to uncover these three different women just amuses the appetite. If the first twelve chapters are an indicator, this will be a delicious book. María, Lotte, and Alice are such different women, living in such different times. I am curious to learn more of their stories, but even more, I am curious to learn about the thread that weaves them together.
I enjoyed this preview as an audiobook and was delighted by the three excellent narrators (Julia Whelan, Katie Leung, and Marisa Calin).
I received this sneak peek thru NetGalley (for which I want to thank NetGalley and the publisher, Macmillan Audio) for an honest review. The opinion expressed here is my own.

I very much enjoyed the sneak peek. All in know about this book is "toxic lesbian vampires' but we didn't see a lot of that in the preview.

Still, I enjoyed getting to know Maria, Lottie, and Alice. The characters were all pretty relatable and interesting - and the narration was amazing. I particularly like Alice's narrator, but they were all great. I'm very much looking forward to finishing the book.

This is an audio version of the first 12 chapters of V.E. Schwab's new novel, Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil. It's very well-done and has excellent readers for each girl's voice. I cannot wait to hear the full version!

*Special thanks to NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for this digital audio e-arc.*

I loved the sneak peek and I ran out to get my physical copy so that I could finish! While I love being able to listen to the whole story - I also love that I was able to get the book started and know for sure that I wanted to purchase a copy for myself! Thank you for the opportunity to start reading early!
