I have never clicked "listen now" so fast when I saw the sneak peek for 'Bury Our Bones" was available! And after devouring this little teaser in one day while running around the house, I am even more excited for the book's release next month. I was hesitant about starting this and then having to wait for the book, but I'm actually very glad that I've now listened to the audiobook, because each narrator was absolutely fantastic. I feel that I now have each of the main character's voices ingrained in my head and when I do finally get my copy, my reading experience will be enhanced because I've listened to this first portion. Each narrator did such an amazing job of bringing each character to life, I can picture Maria, Alice, and Lottie perfectly. Now I just need June 10th to get here so my life can be changed :') Thank you so much for this sneak peek!!

Although I have not received an advanced copy of this book, I have two different editions on pre-order. I am a huge fan of VE Schwab and have always loved her writing style.
This sneak peek preview delivered exactly what I was expecting: interesting character setup, a mystery I would like to unravel, and classic Schwab prose that easily flows the story forward.
Looking forward to this release.
Thank you to Macmillan Audio and NetGalley for providing a sneak peek audio clip for this upcoming release.

I initially read and reviewed the text version of Bury our Bones in the Midnight Soil, and was thrilled when I saw that an audiobook preview was available. The incredible narration provided by Julia Whelan; Katie Leung; Marisa Calin elevates the story to even higher levels of enjoyment. This is a five star book with top-notch audiobook narrators. Highly recommend!

This was a perfect snippet of Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil! Just enough to intrigue and hook me. I cannot wait for it to come out soon.

Absolutely hooked from what I’ve heard from the 12 chapter sneak peak of the audiobook. I’ve already pre-ordered a physical copy of this book, but the audiobook narration is so good it makes me want to buy the audiobook to follow along with as well! I really enjoyed listening to this preview. I’ll likely be editing my Goodreads review to match once I’ve read the entire novel, but so far — in love with the story so far, and very excited to read the rest of this book when it releases!

I received the sneak peak audio of the first 12 chapters via NetGalley and that was a big mistake. How the heck am I supposed to wait until June 10th for the release of the book.
The beginning of this book is FANTASTIC!!!!
The story follows 3 different women across 3 different points in time. I’m already highly invested in each’s story and am dying to know why we are getting their stories.
The writing in this reminds me a lot of Invisible Life of Addie La Rue which is a personal fav of mine. I will absolutely be grabbing the audiobook on release day so I can finish up the book!

Thank you Netgalley for the ARC! All opinions are my own.
I read this on my Kindle, but I was just given access to a sneak peak of the audio and i am SCREAMING that I didn't wait because it is SO GOOD. I only listened to 2 of the 3 POVs, but they are so good and I am absolutely obsessed with the narrator for Alice's POV. I could listen to that Scottish accent all day and I bet Lottie's voice actor is just as good. I will definitely reread (re-listen?) to this in the future because I just NEED it.

Original review:
I feel I am in my gothic novels era. these dark tales of toxic romance just keep sucking me in. In Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil, we are treated to toxic love-sapphic-vampire-gothic romance, and my goodness those are themes and tropes I never knew I needed together. This book is LUSH. It's like a delicious dark wine that you just want to savor. The writing is like poetry, truly atmospheric and modern day gothic.
The story itself; it takes a while to get going, because I promise, it's not going where you think it is. At least, not for a while. This is a story that you really need to take your time with but, but if you make it to the halfway mark you will not be able to put it down.
A lot of people are saying this book could have been shorter, and that it's too slow. I don't disagree - the middle part is much slower and more character driven, at about 60% the plot really picks up.... but I think this is one of the books where the slow burn really works. And actually the character driven parts were actually my favorite.
Another win for VE Schwab, cant wait to see what she comes out with next.

Thank you Netgalley and V.E Schwab for this preview of the audiobook!
This was such a great intro into this story. It is one of my most anticipated reads this year, and this just made me feral to have the rest of the book in my hands.
The narrator did a fantastic job and brought the story to life and had a very nice soothing tone that I really enjoyed. I will be purchasing when this is released!

Hooked me and I already preordered the book! So happy I was able to listen to the sneak peek and get a taste of the book

I AM IN A MESS!
THIS IS ONLY A SNEAK PEEK AND I'M TOO FAR IN TO STOP.. help!
So, I am listening to the audiobook sneak peek and had to start it all over again. I love Maria, I love the narration.. the different timelines and spaces/places, we are actively traveling with the story.
This isn't a direct quote, but " women are like flowers, the beautiful ones tend to be poisonous".
I'm enthralled and my current favorite is Maria. 5 stars, so far! I cannot wait to listen and read the whole story!
Thank you to V.E. Schwab. Macmillan Audio and Netgalley for the peek, but now I NEED the rest!
If you're thinking about it, just do it.. trust me.

The first 12 chapters of this book have me wanting more! I need to know what happens to these women from different places, and in two different time periods. How are they connected? Are they related? I feel for Maria because sometimes the worst thing is getting what you want. Ultimately, I hope she has a happy ending! I love V. E. Schwab's writing and hope that is they don't get a happy ending, at least their lives will be interesting!

Thank you to V. E. Schwab, MacMillan Audio and NetGalley for an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
As a lover of Schwab's other works I was once again blown away with this sneak peak! The first 12 chapters just weren't enough! Schwab has such a gift for writing characters that speak to a variety of audiences so that every reader can see a little of themselves on every page. Can't wait to go out and buy the novel!
5 STARS!

First of all, I find it totally rude that it’s only a sneak peek! But holy moly I ABSOLUTELY DEVOURED THIS AUDIO!
As I expected, VE Schwab’s incredibly vivid and elegant style leaves me feeling very much in a picturesque mood filled with so much historical beauty. I couldn’t have been more impressed with their inclusion of superstitions, prejudices, curiosities, and the meanings of hunger in figurative forms such as for power and well you know. ..
This is the best thing to receive this week, and I’ve already pre ordered the audiobook!
I feel like I would do literal anything to get my hands on more, and I’m so very grateful to Macmillan Audio for this sneak peek in exchange for my thoughts.

For a lot of people, even these first 117 will be an immediate five-star experience, but for me, it's just enough of a taste to have me intrigued but not entirely hooked in eternal love. The potential is there! But for me, this part was more historical fiction with a hint of female rage and a whole lot of sapphire longing, and I'm going to need more vampire vibes for this to creep up into five-star territory. I can very much see why the Addie Girls are losing their minds over this book, though, and I look forward to reading more of it soon!
Thank you to NetGalley for the chance to preview this audiobook with its three incredible narrators

This sneak peek was great and got me excited for what's more to come and have the whole book in my hand. It couldn't come out soon enough.

I am now frothing at the mouth for June 10th to come and I can listen to the rest of this book!! This is already so amazing and I can only imagine it’s going to get better! Thank you so much for this sneak peek!!

I highly enjoyed this sneak peek and look forward to reading the rest of the book after the release! I love following all three of the women and their different times and am excited to see what else happens.
I am not reviewing on socials based on just this sneak peek (as it is not the full book), so I am not including any links below.

Thank you to Macmillan Audio and NetGalley for the audioARC in exchange for an honest review.
I’m not going to do a full review of this book here, just know I cannot wait for the rest. I’ll wait until I read it in its entirety after it comes out. Since I received this sneak peek as an audiobook, I’ll just review that aspect of it.
I’ll definitely be listening to the full audiobook when it comes out.
This book has three narrators. Julia Whelan, who narrated the audiobook for The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue, narrates Maria’s chapters in the book. Marisa Calin, who narrated Tes’s chapters in The Fragile Threads of Power, narrates Lottie’s chapters. And finally Katie Leung, who voiced Cait in Arcane, narrates Alice’s chapters. All three have great credentials as in voice work, which makes sense given this is a V.E. Schwab novel, so the publishers are willing to shell out for a really good audiobook. You love to see it.
All three readers read well. They were all clear and I didn’t have any trouble following them, but it wasn’t dry. It really felt like someone was reading me a story. I love that they all have different accents! I feel like it added to the story a lot. I liked the way all three of them read, but I think I liked Katie Leung’s reading the best. She’s a very warm reader, which is my favorite type.

This sample of the story feels ominous, dark and brooding. I was most interested in Maria in the 1500's, and I wanted to swoop in there and rescue her from that man who was her husband.
The narrators were excellent, especially the one that did Maria's story.
Thank you to Macmillan for the copy of this book. Opinions are my own.

I was thrilled to see this title available under "Listen Now," but was disappointed to realize it was only a sample of the full audiobook. It definitely amplified my FOMO for this book! I had originally planned to pick up the physical copy, but after experiencing the high-quality production by Macmillan, I’ll likely continue with the audiobook instead. The narrators—Julia Whelan, Katie Leung, and Marisa Calin—delivered phenomenal performances that brought the story to life. June can't come soon enough!
