After receiving a sample of the audiobook for Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil. I had to go straight to pre-order the whole book. The women's lives in this book hooked me right away. I can not wait to finish the whole story.

This audiobook sneak peek is not fair! I have listened to it twice! The narration and the dual timelines are magic. I was immediately taken with Maria and the way her mind works. This is my first V.E. Schwab encounter, and I plan to purchase this book and explore the author's backlog as well.

So far, it is deliciously dark and problematic, and I love it!

Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil, is a very different writting from what V E Schwab has previously done. She has chosen to do 3 POV's for queer vampires who transpire through time. Making three powerful females the center point to this book, showing the dark side of them as they live and transition, finally being able to live free to explore what they desire most. I enjoyed being able to listen to this initial 12 chapters of her book and cannot wait to read the rest.

I'm absolutely feral for this audiobook! I'm so glad it's out now so I can finish listening to it! It's atmospheric and achingly beautiful!

Wow did this make me even more excited to dive into the audiobook! What a great multi-cast production! So excited to listen to more!

A dark epic vampire fantasy. What if there was more to life than being a wife and bearing children? Maria dreams of a life where she is in charge and not beholden to a husband, when she meets the widow Sabine, her life changes.

How far would you go for freedom and who would you be if you were immortal and needed to feed on human blood to survive? Would you be careless with your power or a ruthless hunter? I found myself wondering what I would turn into after hundreds of years of immortality.

This was a little darker than my usual preferred reads but the character development was solid and the storyline was easy to follow. Read this if you enjoy dark fiction!

The audio of this book was great but some of the pacing was difficult at faster speeds. Alice's character was hard to understand at the same speed as Sabine, but I enjoyed the voices and the delivery

This sneak peek made me so excited to read this book. I can’t wait to see how the different storylines come together, and each one individually was so gripping. This book was already on my TBR, but now I’m extra excited to read it (or hopefully finish listening to it since I loved the audio). I found myself wanting more from each of the storylines. This sneak peek left me wanting more!

The narrator balances the characters very smoothly, and the sneak peek gives us great pacing but keeping the reader enthralled and intrigued by what happens next! Excited to read/listen to the rest of this!

I was already so excited to read this book but this sneak peek really pushed me over the edge. Julia Whelan is one of my favorite narrators and this is a great example of her work. The other two narrators were great as well, I just wasn't familiar with them. The story is immersive and captured my attention right away. Happy pub day to what is sure to be a favorite read of the year!

I was so happy to get a sneak peek of this book. I has been my most anticipated book of the year and it did not disappoint. The narrators were excellent and this might be my favourite V.E Schwab book yet!

I was immediately sucked in to this book after the first chapter. I read the Invisible Life of Addie LaRue and some parts of this book reminded me of that one. I liked how there were different narrators for each character and how they had different accents as well. I also appreciate how there is diverse LGBTQIA+ representation in this book. I am not always a fan of having multiple POV's in stories, but in this book it's necessary and I am equally interested in each story going on. Having multiple POV's helps with the pacing of the book and makes it a quick read that keeps your attention. I can't wait to read the rest of the book and see how the 3 main characters stories' come together.

I'm so excited this is out in the world now! I loved this sneak peek and can't wait for the rest. The characters have really come to life here (even though they are undead) and I'm so sucked into the story.

I have read the Shades of Magic by V E Schwab and I really enjoyed her character's and her world building. This book is no exception! I know it was only a 2 hr snippet but the beginning of this book will grab you and not let you go! Both her world building and character's that have been introduced are captivating, atmospheric and mysterious. Before `I knew it, the sneak peek had ended and left me wanting the whole book !

Our narrators Julia Whelan; Katie Leung; Marisa Calin have beautiful voices which definitely bring the whole book to life so Im really looking forward to reading and listening to the whole book!

Thank you to Macmillan Audio and Netgalley for this SNEAK PEEK read. It was only about 15 chapters or so and WOW!

There are so many great parts of this story taking shape and weaving their way around each other. I can't wait to read the rest of it and really think this will be a 5 star read. V.E. Schwab will do it again, no doubt! I want to know more about all of the three women that we've met so far and learned about their stories. Lesbian vampires, toxicity, violence.

Can't wait for more!

A very promising and intriguing start to this book. The narration is fantastic— having different narrators for the POVs really enhances the experience. I cannot wait for the full thing!
