Oh how I would have wished for a complete ALC. This audiobook goes so well with the magical story that VE Schwab weaves. Each character has their own voice, and I say bravissimo! Each narrator matched the character they portrayed perfectly and helped bring them to life. This story had me in its grip from the opening line and I kept trying to move forward once my limited preview cut me off. I've already pre-ordered the audiobook, as well as every physical copy I could get my hands on. Thank you so much for giving me this opportunity. I need this book yesterday. Julia Whelan is already one of my all time favorite narrators and I just KNOW when I hear her voice it’s going to be an amazing book! I’m so excited to pick up this book in a couple of days! Thank you so much NetGalley and Tor Books for the sneak peak!!!

This one of my top books of 2025 that I wanted to read. I enjoyed the free sample of the audiobook, and I am more than ready to dive into the full thing.

I was thrilled to receive a sneak peek of one of my most anticipated books of the year! This sample was tantalizing and has me even more excited for the full book, releasing soon. V.E. Schwab's writing is once again rich, delicious, and leaves you hanging on to hear how each character's story will unfold. The characters are instantly alive and unique, pulling you into their story with them. I can't wait to follow along further and learn where their journeys take them when the full novel releases. I've already pre-ordered the full book and am on the edge of my seat to dive back in once it arrives.

The narrators were excellent, it was the first time I enjoyed listening to an audiobook this much. The different accents made me gasp and the dictation was flawless. It nay be the first time I want to actually buy a singular audiobook both for plot/story-wise and narrators wise. Julia Whelan; Katie Leung; Marisa Calin. You three are all on my list now.

Plot wise is was purely diabolical to leave the sneak peak where it ended I'm angry at least one more chapter damn it.

Still, this, is for now is my fav Schwab book/audiobook I've ever read/heard, can't wait to sink my fangs into it.

Wow, wow, wow, wow!! This book's narrator is so famtastic! I almost cried when it ended where it did! I NEED MORE! It is SO GOOD! Sure to ne a hit!

Schwab has a way with words that is so evocative and lyrical. Each chapter lingers in your mind long after the next has started and leaves you wanting more. It's ironic that this book is about female hunger and that Maria specifically says that she has always been hungry because this sample of Schwab's newest title left me hungry for more.

"Bury my bones in the midnight soil, plant them shallow and water them deep, and in my place will grow a feral rose, soft red petals hiding sharp white teeth."

Y'all. It's toxic. lesbian. vampires.

If you're anything like me, those three words are enough to make you want to snatch this on publication day. I've already set the pre-order on Amazon. Just in case you need more convincing, let me say that the production paired with the narrator's voice is just so moody and atmospheric. It felt like if Florence and the Machine were a novel. This is set up to be a twisted tale blending moral greyness with female rage.

I cannot wait for the full thing.

This story is definitely going to be one of my favorites this year! The sneak peek got my hooked! I love Alice and Maria already! I can't wait to finish it, This is a must read for June, but also for the whole year!

I cannot wait to hear the full audio about these three women's lives. This approximately 3-hour audio sneak gave me a good-sized peek into what's to come, and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute. The narration is superb, and the undercurrent of revenge has me eagerly awaiting June 10 so I can finish this incredible story!

I'm itching for the rest of this story, I can't wait to get my hands on it so I can finish reading it. Thank you for the sample!

The audio is so atmospheric! There are interconnected stories of three women across centuries: Maria (1532), Charlotte (1837), and Alice (2019), all of whom are vampires and share a hunger for something beyond their existence. I’m enjoying all of the women’s stories especially Maria’s story. I’m really excited to get a physical copy of this book.
