I just pre-ordered Illumicrate's stunning edition this morning, so I was really eager to jump right into this sampler! I am captivated by the widow and Maria's story in particular. I can't wait to find out how everything comes together once I receive the full book.

I've read one book by this author and was curious to see her new book, but it wasn't grabbing my attention. I kept listening to it over and over again because i wasn't interested enough to pay attention. Not my thing.

I love books by V. E. Schwab but struggle to listen to any books, thought i would try this sample and ended up loving it. The different voices and accents made it so interesting and immediately hooked me, Maria's story is the one that really grabbed my attention, and they way she describes everything makes me want to grab the book as soon as it publishes.

Loved Addie Larue and i am sure this one will be amazing! Thank you for the sample although it was not enough!

The writing of VE Schwab is just lavishing, keeping you wanting for more. In this book you can imagine the setting perfectly. You know exactly where you are and which character you are with. The narration of the audio version was great. I was immediately transported back into the same vibes of Invisible Life of Addie LaRue. Each narrator gives their character such a unique voice, in which you can clearly see the characters illuminated and just know the best of them is yet to come.

So far Bury Our Bones is one of her best works of art. I cannot wait until June 10th to read the rest

This book has several narrators and POVs. It is hard to judge a book by a sneak peek. I feel like you are just getting a taste for the book then it goes no further. This was my first time getting a sneak peek. I don't think I would request another one.

The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue is my favorite book from V. E. Schwab. It is hard to move on from that book to judge others from this author.

I don't think I will be reading the full book.

This is one of my highly anticipated releases, and this sneak peek lived up to what I was hoping for! All the of narrators are fabulous and it is easy to tell the characters apart. This is a rich story that had me fully engaged the entire time. Schwab is giving us another masterclass in character driven stories, and I am eager to get my hand on the rest of this.

I wasn't paying attention that this was just a SNEAK PEAK, but boy ohhh boy am I more than BEYOND ready for this one to release. June 10, cannot come fast enough. I am LOVING everything abou this audiobook. The narrators are amazing and I cannot wait for the full version to be released!!

A gothic vampire tale that crosses centuries and cultures, exploring the afterlives of three women. Schwab delivers a compellingly dark narrative with poetic prose. The sneak peek promises a hauntingly beautiful story.

When I requested this, I did not see "sneak peek" on the end. NOW I cant wait to finish the book.

Oooh, this was very good. I was already anticipating this book, but getting a chance to read the first 12 chapters made my intrigue grow even more. Already, I am fascinated by the main characters. In this sneak peek, we mostly get to learn about Maria and her life, but I am curious to know more about Alice and Lottie. I am also looking forward to seeing how the women are connected and when their paths will cross. I absolutely loved the narrators and how each one breathed so much life into the characters.

It has been years since I've picked up a V.E. Schwab book and I had forgotten how engrossing their concepts and voice are. I am eagerly awaiting the release of Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil so I can continue to see how things unfold.

I got to check out the sneak peek (chapters 1-12) of the audiobook for Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil—and wow, I’m hooked! Julia Whelan’s narration is absolutely on point, bringing the same atmospheric vibes as she did with The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue. Katie Leung’s accent is perfectly done too, really adding another layer of immersion.

It’s a shame the sneak peek didn’t include much of Lottie’s POV—I was hoping for more of her perspective! But even with just this short teaser, I’m so excited to see where the story goes. Can’t wait for the full release!

5 ⭐️ so far

This book immediately brought me back to reading The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue, with the same style of prose, vivid characters, and time jumps. It’s beautifully written, sharp, mysterious, and simmers with feminine rage under the surface.

The audiobook narration is phenomenal so far. Julia Whelan is always a winner, and her accents here are top notch. Katie Leung and Marisa Calin sound great too - I can already tell this is going to be a fantastic listening experience all the way through.

I can’t wait to finish this one when it releases in a few weeks!

The rating I’m writing is based on my experience of listening to this ebook.

I had a difficult time understanding the story; and that may not be an author issue, more on me being able to follow the story as an ebook format. Occasionally when listening to ebooks, I feel that finding a place for my feet to land feels difficult. This story definitely time jumps and I felt lost in that jump. I couldn’t latch onto the character and absorb the setting.

Again, this is just my experience with the ebook story here. I do like V Schwab as an author and have read Gallant and part of LoAL, so I think perhaps reading this book later may help.
