Loved this excerpt and can't wait to read the rest. Thank you to Net Galley for the chance to read the preview!

SCREAMING!!!! I cannot wait for this book to debut, toxic lesbian vampires ahhh!
I have already pre-ordered 3 copies of this book

A strong, lyrical beginning shows V.E. Schwab at her best.
Spellbinding, infused with the author’s signature rich writing, and highly addictive, the first twelve chapter of „Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil“ sucked me in and made me wish I had waited until even closer to the book‘s publication date to read them, because now I have to wait until June 10 to find out how it all ends.
From the first haunting introduction to „Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil“ („Maria, died 1532“), author V.E. Schwab pulls her readers into a gorgeously dark and emotionally rich world that only she can conjure. Fans of „The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue“, myself included, will feel right at home there, and yet completely unmoored in the best way. These first twelve chapters are a masterclass in atmosphere, longing, and the uncanny, with the author’s signature lyrical prose on full display. There are hints of folklore, whispers of the dead, and a mythic quality to the setting while the author continues to play with time and memory in ways that are both beautiful and brutal, each chapter a revelation.
The three female protagonists are already leaving their mark on me, with the kind of subtle development and aching vulnerability that made Addie LaRue unforgettable. Schwab has a rare gift for crafting characters who ache with want - for love, for meaning, for freedom - and this story feels like something just as timeless and devastating.
I cannot wait to see where this haunting journey leads.
The sneak peek of the audiobook, narrated by an impeccable cast lead by the formidable Julia Whelan, and also including Katie Leung and Marisa Calin, was a joy to listen to.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.
„Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil“ is slated to be released on June 10, 2025.

i am so excited for this book!!!! i love anything VE SCHWAB and this book is going to get all of the hype that it deserves

Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil - was just a sneak peek by V. E. Schwab. Narrated by Julia Whelan, Katie Leung, and Marisa Calin. And what I can say is “believe the hype”!
I believe I listened to 2 hours and 32 minutes of it. It was writing at its best. The narrators were of the highest standard, and I couldn’t get enough. If you’ve read this author before, you know what I mean by her style and how she just makes you want to do nothing but listen or read her stories. This one is going to be a bestseller. I feel it in my bones.
Thanks, Macmillan Audio, for this sneak peek via NetGalley.

Super excited to listen to the rest of this powerhouse of a book! Thanks NetGalley for the sneak peak!!

I had the privilege of listening to the first few chapters of this audiobook ARC in exchange for my honest review, from the one and only Net Galley (read on if you want to know why I'm profusely thanking them for this opportunity)
Bookies 🫢 16th century Spain with a baddie who has Aelin's cunning. A 21st century baddie from Scotland who has a very raw and beautiful connection with an English baddie (SAPPHIC !! LETS GO). Charlotte.. Who we have yet to learn about 👀
I listened to this book on my drives to work and found myself blushing, giggling, yelling, and overall so incredibly excited for the rest of the book to come out. Through this audio, we get not one, but THREE DIFFERENT AUDIOBOOK NARRATORS (read that again). Knowing each woman comes from somewhere different in the world, this made the story that much more immersive and exciting for me. I felt like I was right next to Maria as she walked around the Spanish market; like I was in the rain along side Alice while she has a romantic moment.
In summary... I love VE Schwab as an author. I think she has this unique writing style that makes characters jump right off the page. Not only that, her stories are so much fun to read because you just don't know what will happen next. I can't express enough how excited I am to continue listening to this book!!

I read this sneak peak in audio and I enjoyed it. I think it set up nicely for the rest of the story. I found the several main characters interesting and it was easy to get intrigued about the world building. I’m excited to read the rest when it comes out.

Fantasy is not generally my cup of tea, but sapphic vampires totally are. I really enjoyed the chance to try a part of this book and I am hooked! I can't wait to finish the audiobook.

Sounds great. Looking forward to hearing the full production with Julia Whelan, Katie Leung, and Marisa Calin.

I truly can't wait to read the rest of the book!
The characters are everything I've come to expect from the author and I was immediately invested in each story. These 12 chapters are the perfect amount for me to be champing at the bit for the rest of the book.
Will review in full upon finishing the book.

This sneak peek of one of my most anticipated reads of the year was absolute perfection. The narration was done so very well, and I cannot wait to continue the audiobook when the book drops.

I am so excited to read the entirety of this. V. E. Schwab truly excels at crafting a mysterious and haunting atmosphere that you can’t help but be morbidly curious about. The sound design makes the text immersive and compelling. Can’t wait for more!

I devoured this sneak peak! I cannot wait for the entire audiobook to release. The two different narrators make the story easier to follow as it jumps perspectives and time periods. This is my first sapphic romance and I look forward to reading more!

The sneak peek audio of Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil by V.E. Schwab offers a tantalizing glimpse into what promises to be another captivating story from this talented author. The narration is engaging, drawing listeners into the dark and atmospheric world that Schwab is known for creating. Even in this brief preview, the characters are intriguing, and the plot hints at a rich tapestry of mystery and emotion.
Schwab's signature writing style, with its lyrical prose and deep emotional undercurrents, is evident from the start. This sneak peek leaves you eager for more, making it clear that Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil will be a must-listen for fans of Schwab and anyone who enjoys a well-crafted, immersive story.

This wasn’t the full book but these first chapters are already making me think this will be a five star read!!! I can’t wait to read the rest of it.

This is a great start to what is sure to be a wonderful book. I loved the different narrators and the way in which they brought the characters to life. They make me want to know more and really help differentiate between the different timelines. The vibes are strong, capable, feminism and I am here for it. Definitely continuing this one via audio.

This was an excerpt given out through NetGalley that only gives you the first 12 chapters of this book. What I can say about the book based on what I have read so far is........it is excellent!
The book is taking us through the stories of three different women in three different time lines. There was just enough information in those 12 chapters to bait the hook and unfortunately, I bit and am hooked.
Thank you to NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for the opportunity to listen to and review this audio ARC (excerpt). This book will be out for publication on June 10, 2025.
