the beginning is great, I was immidiately hooked and i need to know what happens next! The characters are intriguing, Maria stole my attention, but i want to know what's happening to Alice as well.

SO GOOD! This sneak peek has succeeded in making me sad that I don’t have the entire thing because it’s amazing. The three narrators are top notch and fully bring these characters to life. The story had me hooked so far. I can’t wane to read the rest!

Very excited to have gotten the opportunity for a sneak peek of this one! V.E. Schwab has been on my TBR for awhile and the premise of this book intrigued me.

During the 12 chapter sneak peek, I found myself waning in and out of interest, but mostly hooked. The pacing was a tad slow for my preference. Maria’s perspective was the most interesting to me, though I think it’s because we had the most from her. The narrator performances are impeccable, captivating.

Overall, this did make me excited for the book and to see how everything unfolds.

I wish Julia Whelan were narrating the entire book. Her voice is simply mesmerizing. Katie Leung's Scottish accent takes a moment to get used to. I have not listened to any book narrated by Marisa Calin, so it's hard to judge.
I am excited to read and listen to the entire book. I can already tell that this is going to be a great story, and I will definitely do a combo of reading and listening to the book.

Not much happened in these first 12 chapters, but it still held my interest and made me want to know what would happen next. I almost always love V.E. Schwab's books, so I have high hopes for this one.

Wow. Just wow. I’m so sad it was a sneak peek because I need more immediately! I’ve never read anything by this author and loved the writing. I’m so intrigued with the timelines and the multiple POV’s. Plus the narrators were incredible. I will definitely need the whole book once it out!

Just started Bury Your Bones and I’m five chapters in—hooked already. Schwab’s writing always has this lyrical, haunted quality, and this story is no different. It’s slow in a good way, like it’s building something heavy in the background. I already feel connected to the main character, even though we’re only beginning to scratch the surface. Curious to see where it goes, but so far, it’s giving me all the moody, thoughtful vibes I wanted.

Absolutely enchanting!! I cannot wait to get my hands on this one and finish it! The narrator that was chosen for this audio fits the vibe perfectly. I love VE Shwab as is but even more so now❤️

the upcoming release of “Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil” on June 10th, I had the opportunity to get a sneak peak of the audiobook. We follow three different characters: Maria, Charlotte, and Alice. This haunted, vampire sapphic novel is one of the most anticipated reads of the 2025.
Charlotte:
Traveled to London during 1827, she is a debutante girl who wants a different life.

Maria:
She is a young girl in 1892, located in Spain, where her brother wed her to the viscount.

Alice:
Recently moved to Boston for college at Harvard University in 2019, she’s trying to overcome her trauma.

All three of these girls are interconnected, searching for answers.

I am only able to read up to chapter 12, but it INSTANTLY hooked me in. Different chapter have different characters, so it feels like I’m reading three different books in one. I need to keep reading to see what happens with all the different characters! We get a good introduction to the characters with this sneak peak, but it quickly enraptures you into the story. As I read, things are coming together and it is all making sense, which is THE BEST feeling! I will definitely be purchasing this book to continue, because I believe it will be one of my top reads of 2025.

Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil is written in VE Schwab's typical poetic style, filled with lilting prose and beautiful sentences. The mood and writing are very reminiscent of Addie LaRue, but gayer, with more rage and bigger teeth. I can see why the author claims that this has taken the place of Addie as her proudest work!

The narrators bring the three main characters to life and lift the mood and vibe to fit the assignment. You can immediately identify the POVs character. They truly bring the story to life.

I love everything that VE Schwab writes, but I can tell within the first chapter that this is something special. A story that will live with me for years to come. I cannot wait to finish this book and highly recommend the audio. Anxiously awaiting the release!
