I listen to a lot of audiobooks and can confidently say this one has my attention. Bury Our Bones is a FANTASTIC audiobook experience. The narrator’s really capture the spirit of the women and bring this story to life. I was absolutely entranced and cannot wait to listen to it in it’s entirety.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this audiobook sneak peak in exchange for an honest review.

This sneak peek had me absolutely entranced, and I cannot wait until 6/10 to continue. I am equally interested in all three main characters and thought the narrators did a terrific job.

5⭐️

I had a sneak peek at the audiobook read by Julia Whelan, Kate Leung and Marisa Calin who are excellent.

I absolutely loved the sample it must have been about 2 hours which became a problem for me.
I think I’d rather have had the whole book on NetGalley or nothing. I feel that the sample is too long, I’ll have to listen to it all again if I manage to get it from the library as I will have forgotten the storyline by then.
For those who love this author I’m sure that you won’t be disappointed by this book.

I’ve rated on what I’ve listened too and the books potential.

I’m in my toxic lesbian vampires era and I could not be happier! This is absolutely incredible. The writing is impeccable. The voice acting is impeccable. The story is impeccable. I cannot wait for the entire audiobook to release! I have a feeling it’s going to be my new obsession (I say as I already cannot stop thinking about it). Do yourself a favour and preorder this ASAP! Everyone will be talking about it.

Thank you so much to the publisher and NetGalley for the advance sneak peek in exchange for my honest review!

Thank you to Macmillan Audio and Netgalley for this speak peak alc in exchange for an honest review.

I was honestly sad I couldn't get an arc of Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil by V.E. Schwab so when I saw this sneak peak of the audiobook I nearly screamed with excitement. I adore this author and haven't read a single book of hers that I didn't love. And these first twelve chapters are no exception! The writing style immediately captivated me, poetic and flowing but still to the point and quick. The characters were so complex and layered, with secrets and hidden depths that I can't wait to discover. I can't wait for the whole book to release because I am desperate to finish the journeys these women are going on. The narration was amazing. I think the narrators really suit these characters and did a wonderful job bringing this story to life.

Thank you Macmillan Audio and NetGalley for an ALC sneak peek.

In these opening twelve chapters, VE Schwab builds the foundation arc of three hungry women who get their start in three separate periods of time: 1532, 1827, and 2019. Their ending, though, is still a mystery. While Maria’s perspective takes the majority of these chapters, we do get to see a little bit into the lives of Alice and Charlotte in this preview that has me asking questions about what’s next and how their stories entertwine like roots.

Julie Whelan shows the career under her belt, with her commanding storytelling with different voices. She’s become one of my favorite narrators. Katie Leung brings an emotive narration to Scottish college freshman Alice as she traverses being abroad and her identity. We only get one chapter with Marisa Calin, but I’m excited to hear more.

“Shall we stay out here or are you planning to invite me in?”

I should have waited…cause now I have to wait…but I couldn’t wait! Absolutely fantastic teaser sneak peek! So excited to continue the story.

Thank you to Macmillan Audio and NetGalley for the advanced sneak peek audio.

Crying, dying, screaming.

Thank you so much NetGallley and MacMillan Audio for the early galley. I absolutely can't wait to listen to the rest of this incredible story.

Wow! That was captivating! Just when you would start to really sink your teeth into a storyline it would take a twist you didn’t see coming or it would turn from one character and timeline to another completely. Just when you’d think another person couldn’t hold your attention in equal measure, you were proven wrong; you’d like the newest addition just as much as the one before.

This story has depth and intrigue. These characters multifaceted. You could feel a bit of a heavy darkness in each storyline right alongside their vivacity.

Twelve chapters was just perfect for a taste and yet not nearly enough! Very well done.

Thank you to NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for the ALC of the first twelve chapters and to VE Schwab for sharing your brilliance.

Based on the sample provided, I will definitely be checking out the rest of the book when it is published. I’m excited to see how the 3 characters all intertwine at some point in the book!

As soon as Julia Whelan opened the book, I was reminded of just how much I love her as a narrator. Every book I’ve heard her narrate is absolutely fantastic, and she continued to do an amazing job in this book as well. I also really enjoyed Katie and Marisa’s narration.

What to Expect:
- Female rage
- Sapphic!
- Multiple timelines
- Multiple POVs

Thank you to VE Schwab, MacMillan Audio, and to NetGalley for providing a sample of an audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

I was able to get an early sneak peak at the first 12 chapters on audio! The narrators are fantastic and really show off each character perfectly! My favorite so far is the narrator for Alice.

You get a multi POV across multiple timelines. You are following 3 women who will all interconnect at some point later in the story.

I am excited to read/listen to the rest of the story but so far it is good! It reminds me a little of Weyward with the different timelines and the women’s stories being interwoven and connected with the poetic story telling of Addie Larue. So if you liked either of those and you like vampires you may like this!

This is for you if you love:
✨ Feminine rage
✨ Vampires
✨ Sapphic romance
✨ Multiple timelines
✨ Poetic writing

Thank you to NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for the ALC. All opinions are my own!

The sneak peek is around 15% of the story, so it is hard to judge the book's content, but I am intrigued and will pick it up when it comes out.

The audiobook is fantastic, so far. Julia Whelan is amazing as always, but Katie Leung and Marisa Calin also bring their characters to life. I am so glad they chose to have multiple narrators. I think it would have been harder to follow with just one narrator.

Thank you to NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for a gifted copy in exchange for an honest review.

Schwab sets up a very intriguing take spanning hundreds of years, in spite of not really revealing anything about the magic of this world I felt myself captivated throughout the sneak peak I got from NetGalley, I will be picking up where I left off on it’s release.

"Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil" is the epitome of female rage.

I had the opportunity to preview the audiobook for Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil by V.E. Schwab and--OH MY GOD--in the voice of Lizzie McGuire, this is what (audiobook) dreams are made of.

Is it possible to HEAR art??? Not music...this is van Gogh FOR YOUR EARS! The narrators of this audiobook are expert voice actors who bring these stories to life with a breathtaking performance. Katie Leung, Marisa Calin, and Julia Whelan just paved a new path for audiobook performances.

This is a story about hunger.
1532. Santo Domingo de la Calzada.

This is a story about love.
1827. London.

This is a story about rage.
2019. Boston.

This is a story about life—
how it ends, and how it starts.

I mean, can it get any more ominous? The beginning of the book starts off just like that and you can't help but to be immediately drawn into the stories of these women. I am starving for the rest of these stories! I have so many questions. The plot of Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil is in a class of its own--with unique stories that are somehow connected.

With a multi POV and multi timeline, how can this be so seamless? I was concerned about the multiple layers to this plot because I get easily confused with time jumps and abrupt setting changes. However, in Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil the transitions between the different POV's was seamless! This was expert level writing! 🤌🤌

Favorite Quotes so far:

🥀"Careful. In nature, beauty is a warning. The pretty ones are often poisonous."

Thanks to NetGalley for the sneak peek.

Now I can't wait to read the full book. V.E. Schwab does an excellent job of getting the reader hooked in from page one.

Holy Addie LaRue!!!

The vibes, the flow, the poetic prose.

V.E. Schwab has captured and enthralled me all over again.

I almost forgot that I listened to Addie LaRue until I heard the narrator and it just took me back to the magic of experiencing Addie for the first time. The other narrators and their accents complimented her (the former Addie narrator) perfectly too.

We rotate through a different woman in each chapter. Each woman lives in a different time period and has her own difficult things to deal with. There are some schemes and some struggles and varying factors for each woman.

I'm so invested in this but also kicking myself for allowing myself to get invested without being able to read/listen to the rest of the book.

This book is going to be magic, I just know it.

Thank you Macmillan Audio for the free preview of this audiobook!

All 3 narrators are AMAZING- I got so lost into this story & when it just abruptly stopped ‘cause it’s only a 2hr sneak speak (13 chapters) MY JAW HIT THE FLOOR- PLEASE, I need the rest o’ NetGalley Kings. Bestow it upon my soul.

I think Maria is my fave. Her curiosity is enjoyable & her SASS, I live. Read Mama Countess the house boots down lmfaoo. She’s just such a fierce spirit.

Alice is so meek & kawawa- Really interested in her story as well as the other FMC. My goldfish brain can’t remember her name, BUT to be fair… I was so sucked into Maria’s storyline lmfao.
