So.. I didn’t realize this was a sneak peak when I requested it so i am not sure how to rate it since i haven’t read the entire booth.

However, it has a good start and made me want to read more of it.

The narrators Julia Whelan; Katie Leung; Marisa Calin did a good job with their recitations over all. They speak at a good 1x pace and are fairly engaging and mange several different accents.

I hesitate to say more because there just wasn’t enough to listen to, to give an adequate review. I will up date this once I have consumed it in it’s entirety.

Listening to the first chunk of chapters from this book only has me more excited for its full release in June! So excited to read the rest of this book and delve deeper into the lives of Alice, Charlotte, and María. Also really enjoyed the 3 narrators - they each feel very apt for the women whose chapters they're reading.

Thank you to Macmillan Audio for providing me with this sneak peek ALC!

I struggled with if I was going to grab the sneak peek of Bury Our Bones in the Midngight Soil. This is a book I am highly anticipating and I didn't think I wanted to start it and then have to stop after the 12 chapter preview. Let me tell you I am glad I did. First I can tell you from what I have listened to that this book is going to be a fantastic read! I am already trapped into the story. Now I have the hardback preordered but just listening to these three fantastic narrators bring this story to life is making me go back and also preoder the audio as well. This is going to be an immersive experience for me upon release and more than likely a top read for me.
Julia Whelan gives us a variety of voices for each character that she narrates in her section. Varying in accents. You can tell she has mastered her craft and really is bringing her sections of this book to life.
Katie Leung- I believe narrates Alice's sections. I love the accent she does. I found her sections equally as pleasing to listen to and her diction fantastic and easy to understand.
Marisa Calin- I do not know if I have listen to any other audio book she has done but I can tell that she is going to also be a new favorite!

All in all the portion of this book that I got to experience was very well written, I expect nothing less from V.E. Schawb and the narration well produced. I can't wait to dig in fully on release day!

I thought the narration for this was great! This is an awesome sneak peak for the audiobook. Julia Whelan shines as always and I look forward to finishing the rest when it comes out. I think the timeline jumping will be difficult to settle into but overall, I'm excited to read the rest! Vampires are BACK and I'm so excited,

Okay the way I clicked listen now so fast! This was been high on my list and I was so excited. This is the perfect little teaser. The audio was great, and from what I could listen to, this is a brilliant start to the book. Definitely eager to hear the rest of it!

Okay what kind of deliciously eerie fever dream did I just fall into? This book has me hooked like a ghost whispering secrets I’m not supposed to hear. The writing is haunting in the best way—lush, lyrical, and dripping with atmosphere. Every chapter pulls me deeper into something that feels sacred and rotten all at once (yes, I’m obsessed).

I’m only halfway through and already rearranging my entire day so I can listen to the rest. There’s a weight to these characters—grief, love, rot, and ritual—that I feel in my chest. This is storytelling that doesn’t just entertain, it lingers.

I can’t wait to finish it. Let the bones speak.

VE Schwab proves once again that she is a master of her craft.

Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil is a hauntingly beautiful tale, meticulously written and lovingly conjured by an author who is just as captivated by her characters as we are.

Maria, Alice, and Lottie join the long line of richly imagined women birthed from the slick end of Schwab’s pen—complex, sharp, and unforgettable. The men in this story are mere afterthoughts, and refreshingly so. Here, it’s the women who take center stage, and Schwab makes no apologies for it. They are the artwork. They are the force.

Every setting is deliberate, each detail masterfully placed—no rock unturned, no fern unfurled without purpose. Schwab leaves no sense untouched; from the first page, you are wholly immersed—body, mind, and soul.

I’m counting down the minutes until I can cross the three-hour threshold, eager to keep turning these women’s lives over in my mind, again and again.

PS -- I'm pretty sure Maria and Addie would have been BEST FRIENDS.

I devoured this sneak peek and was immediately desperate for more! Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil is easily one of my most anticipated books of 2025. I only wish I’d been approved for the full audiobook. The narration by Julia Whelan, Katie Leung, and Marisa Calin is stunning, and Schwab’s vivid descriptions and intricate storytelling completely pulled me in. I was utterly lost in these opening chapters—in the best way.

This was such an engaging sneak peek into what is to come in the full novel! I believe the file includes the first 12 chapters and I cannot wait to find out what happens next. The narrators for each POV character were great and really brought their unique flair to the women. I can’t wait to read the full story!

The sneak peek narration is absolutely incredible. Each of the narrators delivers a captivating performance that highlights the incredible writing of VE Schwab.

Each point of view is distinct with warm accents, emotional intensity, and just the right amount of pauses to leave the reader unable to put this audiobook down.

I can't wait to watchh the rest of the story unfold, and I’m desperate for the conclusion of this book. I can only imaging how much better this performance becomes.

I was so excited to see there's a sneak peek of VE Schwab's Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil. I loved the triple narration for the three different ladies. Though it was hard for me to understand the narrator for Alice. I'm not used to hearing her accent. On the other hand, I will listen to anything by Julia Whelan

Content wise, this snippet made me excited for the book. I was previously hesitant about it since Addie La Rue wasn't my favorite.

Thank you netgalley for providing this snippet.

I have never clicked "listen now" so fast when I saw the sneak peek for 'Bury Our Bones" was available! And after devouring this little teaser in one day while running around the house, I am even more excited for the book's release next month. I was hesitant about starting this and then having to wait for the book, but I'm actually very glad that I've now listened to the audiobook, because each narrator was absolutely fantastic. I feel that I now have each of the main character's voices ingrained in my head and when I do finally get my copy, my reading experience will be enhanced because I've listened to this first portion. Each narrator did such an amazing job of bringing each character to life, I can picture Maria, Alice, and Lottie perfectly. Now I just need June 10th to get here so my life can be changed :') Thank you so much for this sneak peek!!

Although I have not received an advanced copy of this book, I have two different editions on pre-order. I am a huge fan of VE Schwab and have always loved her writing style.
This sneak peek preview delivered exactly what I was expecting: interesting character setup, a mystery I would like to unravel, and classic Schwab prose that easily flows the story forward.
Looking forward to this release.

Thank you to Macmillan Audio and NetGalley for providing a sneak peek audio clip for this upcoming release.
