I don’t know how I am expected to wait until July for the rest of this book. It is perfection. And the audio is phenomenal.

I already can tell this will be a five star review. I really enjoyed the sneak peek of the audiobook from Netgalley WOWOWO.

The audiobook for this is so amazing! The accents and how expressive the voices are - you can feel the emotions so strongly. I cannot wait to read the entirety of the book next month!

I've never read VE Schwab but have heard nothing but great things. This sampler only emphasizes that praise. The three storylines are equally intriguing. The writing is strong. The narrators seem to be doing an amazing job. Can't wait for this to be released so I can finish!!

This story flips between three different women, in three different countries, separated by hundreds of years. Although I am not sure how their stories will intertwine, I love who they are turning out to be. Schwab as a way of describing things so that the images created in your mind are in 4K. Even though this story takes place in real places on Earth, it seems to teeter that line between real and magical. The narrators have different accents that perfectly match their characters. I’m so excited to read the rest.

Intriguing and evocative, Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil is a tale readers can lose themselves in. It's woven in such a way that feels both grounded and fantastical. Like Schwabs past works, each page bleeds with humanity in all it grit and glory.

The narration adds an otherworldly feel with the nuanced choices ( be each and every narrator!) feeling reminiscent of a storyteller spinning a tale fireside. I have the physical book on preorder but this audio preview has cemented the fact that I will need an audio version too!!!

Oh my goodness 😍😍😍 this is just amazing. Thank you so much for the sneak peek. I can not wait to buy this book when it comes out. VE Schwab has such an amazing talent to write such beautifully crafter characters. I love the way she describes her stories, it just feels so vivid.

This is the first 12 chapters of VE Schwab’s newest book. Narrated by Julia Whelan, Katie Leung, and Marisa Calin. I’m very familiar with Julia Whelan, who in my opinion, is the GOAT of female audiobook narrators. She does great with male and female voices. I’m not as familiar with Katie Leung and Marisa Calin, but they also did a tremendous job and were perfect for their parts.

I wish this were the whole book because once I got started,d I wanted to continue. It grabbed my attention, and I’m looking forward to finishing it. The writing was beautiful and well paced. I will seek this one out to finish.

I love the audio, Julia Whelan narrates part of it. Give me more! But I think the audio gets confusing because it goes between different characters in very different timelines and they said the same chapter number a few times. Like for each character. Overall I like it. I just think I’d like to read it and hear together.

This book is so intriguing! I'm absolutely going to buy it when it comes out to finish the book. I was captured the entire time and waiting to know what happened next. The stories of the three women is great. Obviously since it's only 3 hours there isn't much I can say for a review other than it kept my interest and I will be purchasing when the book releases.

I have been anxiously awaiting this newest release from V.E. Schwab and am only more excited after listening to the first 12 chapters! The prose is gorgeous and each of the protagonists are narrated by a different narrator - something to really help differentiate the multi-POV included in the novel, which I really appreciate. The narrator for Alice's chapters has a charming accent, which makes them even more enjoyable!

I will absolutely be buying when it is released - counting down the days!

I am obsessed. These 12 chapters have me hooked and I'm obsessed with Maria and I hope she gets revenge in every single aspect that she wants. I cannot wait for the full book to be released and I'm leaning towards wanting it on audio because the Narrators are amazing!

A very promising start to a highly anticipated book. I was sitting on the fence about whether to get a finished copy on release, but thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the sneak peek I'm sold!

There isn't much more that I can add other than what's provided in the synopsis. These first chapters focus on the lead up to Maria and Alice's deaths, with a snippet into another character's POV. The writing is both beautiful and very stream of consciousness like in Schwab's The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue, with a plot that seems to meander and spend time on day-to-day life (in this first part). As someone who gave Addie 5 stars, I have no complaints about how this new story is shaping up, and look forward to it's release so I can see how it progresses.

I’m sorry!! How are you going to leave me hanging like that?!?! I need more! This book with just the small bit that we get is so good! Definitely adding to my tbr so I can finish it!

The narrators—Julia Whelan, Marisa Calin, and Katie Leung—are phenomenal. Each one brings the characters to life with so much emotion and depth, making the story feel even more vivid and immersive. I was completely hooked from the very beginning and couldn’t believe it when I hit the end of the sample—it flew by!

I can’t wait to dive back in with my copy when the publication date rolls around, though I’m already counting down the days until I can do a full re-read with the audiobook because it really brought the story to life. This story is going to be the hit of the summer!
