Celebrity romance and she’s a writer…sign me up immediately. I thoroughly enjoyed reading The Odds of You and seeing the progression of Theo and Sage throughout. The story didn’t feel out of touch and both characters had “relatable” qualities that made them come to life within the pages of the storyline. The author did a beautiful job ensuring that it didn’t drag and plot points flowed from start to finish.

Unfortunately, the only thing lowering my rating with this one is that I feel that in a few years, it may suffer from “era categorization.” Think picking up a book written in 2012 dystopian era and knowing when it came out without looking up the publication day. There are multiple moments in this that feel very coded towards 2025 and what life reflects in this EXACT moment (trends, language, slang, etc.). Now hear me out on this, it makes sense considering it is 2025, but it is hard to stay within a story (which many would use for escaping) and seeing so many real life concepts laid out on the page. This is definitely a personal preference though.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book and would recommend to many as a beautiful romance.

Thank you to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for gifting me an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

There are some settings that I simply cannot resist, and as soon as I saw what resembled the Scottish Highlands on this cover, I IMMEDIATELY requested!

To be completely honest, this book did not seem like a debut. The writing felt mature and the characters felt genuinely connected to each other, whereas I often find some of these contemporary romances are a little too unbelievable for my taste. Dripping with British and Scottish culture, this romance had me laughing and swooning the entire way through. Extra points for a book about an author- we love that! I think people will be drawn into this book by the beautiful cover and they will finish it more than satisfied with the story.

I was so excited when I saw that ARCs were available for The Odds of You. I would randomly check and it wasn’t available. I just happened to see someone share they were available and ran to see if I could request a copy.

I’m a huge fan of Kate Dramis and when she announced she was going to do a contemporary romance, I was excited. I’m not generally the biggest fan of contemporary romance, but that doesn’t mean I’m not a fan. It has to be the right story. Needs some cheesiness with some heart-wrenching emotional gutting. Kate Dramis delivers.

What an intro. Cows can totally be deadly, just not always in ways you expect. I wish this was touched on more between her conversations with Theo, or really anyone. It seemed like it was brought up at the beginning and not utilized as much as it should have for comedic relief or to continue that aspect of Sage’s personality. I need those interesting facts so I can learn!

The vibes are immaculate, but not only the vibes- the writing was great too. Thank you for writing something that was so enjoyable to fall into.

Overall, I throughly loved this story. It’s relatively fast paced and we get into her and Theo’s relationship rather quickly. We get to know them and their flaws. I loved Emerson and Margot and wish we got to see even more of them because the banter and support was amazing.

I’m sure this is just a formatting this for the ARC, but I would have to reread the chats/text exchanges 2 times to make sure I can figure out who is talking and when Sage was replying. They were all aligned with each other, so I was deducing who was saying what when. There were also some bigger jumps to another scene I didn’t always see coming because there wasn’t a “~” to break things up or indication we were about to change direction. The jumps were fine, I just couldn’t tell and would have to go back to make

Also, the one quote used in the epilogue- let’s just say I immediately read it in the way it was said in the show. If it was intentional, I love it, If it wasn’t, I still love it.

I was lucky enough to receive an eARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Sage Collins is on her way to her first comic con as a brand-new published author—hungover, stressed, and way behind on her next book. Her plan? Survive the flight and maybe get some writing done. But fate steps in, in the form of Theo Sharpe—the gorgeous guy sitting nearby who won’t stop talking. She figures she’ll never see him again…until the paparazzi catch them in a situation that looks a lot more romantic than it is, and the internet goes wild. Theo, it turns out, is a rising British actor with an intense fan base, and Sage quickly becomes the target of online drama. All she wants is to focus on her work. She escapes to a quiet Scottish town to hide out—only to find Theo is there too. This story feels like a mix of The Holiday and a softer Notting Hill, with a modern look at online fandom, creative burnout, and the weight of other people’s expectations. Celebrity romances are one of my favorite tropes. They’re never super realistic, but I love them anyway. What stood out here was that the book digs into the pressures that come with both fame and creativity, not just the romance.
If I had one small critique, it’s that Theo sometimes felt too flawless—a bit more flaw or internal struggle could’ve made him more believable. Still, this was a warm, thoughtful, and charming read with the right mix of sweet moments and emotional depth.
If you enjoy love stories about famous people that also explore vulnerability and personal growth, this is one to look out for when it releases January 6, 2026.
Thanks to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Griffin for the ARC.

Been in a bit of a book slump for months and this one got me out of it. Devoured this book in 24 hours.

A newly bestselling author has a chance encounter with a heart throb actor and they form an unlikely connection. Although it’s a celebrity romance trope nothing about the book felt outlandish or unrealistic.

I loved the FMCs voice, wit, and extremely relatable insecurities. The MMC was such a tender, charming, but still flawed unsocial and a great balance to her. The chemistry between the two was electric and I just adored watching their love story unfold.

Rarely have I felt so seen by a book. The descriptions of what it feels like to be in creative work with "itchy brain" put into words things I've never been able to.

Beyond that, the romance was beautiful. Famous x not is not my favorite trope, but the author does a fabulous job of balancing the stakes and bringing in enough backstory that very little felt contrived, even though contrived is inevitable. I thoroughly, thoroughly enjoyed this and thoroughly, thoroughly recommend.

This was delightful! I'm not usually a fan of celebrity romances but this sounded different and is set in Scotland so yay. This felt like Notting Hill mixed with The Holiday.

I really liked our main character Sage. She felt so real to me. I could totally see myself in her, especially on the burnout issue. I enjoyed her sense of humor too. Theo was a dreamboat. From his introduction he's simply charming and he stays great throughout the book. I enjoyed the romance between Sage and Theo too. Theo may come off a little too perfect (but this is romance so who cares lol).

This felt very romcom/escapism which was exactly what I needed.

This had plenty of humor, heart and romance to charm readers.

Thank you SMP Romance for my copy! I absolutely fell in love with these characters and their love story. It was funny, tender, emotional and completely swoonworthy. Sage and Theo had incredible chemistry and I loved the setting of Scotland.

Thank you to SMP for the gifted copy of this book.

I admit that I originally picked up this book because part of it was set on Isle of Skye, my favorite place in the world.

Sage and Theo’s story took me through a whirlwind of emotions and Kate uses just the right amount of pop culture references to make the story feel relevant and like you’re watching it in real time. She also highlights a feeling many of us deal with in our lives; the feeling of never being enough and constantly needing approval from strangers.

This is definitely a book that needs to go on your TBR list.

I don’t think I have ever annotated so many quotes and passages in a book before. I am so enamored with this book that it’s almost rendered me speechless - it’s truly such a fun and incredible experience to see yourself, your thoughts, your anxieties and experiences on page, being lived out in a character in a book. To read the advice and feedback they’re given, to see the love they’re receiving, from friends and family and see yourself in a different light. I identified so, so much with Sage and her insecurities, her fears, her thought patterns; there have been so many times when I’ve not felt enough. Every step of her journey felt so similar to my own, and I think she’ll always hold a special place in my heart.

Theo? Oh, Theo. I love how well written his character was - flawed, but caring, kind and good - but still believable. Broken enough that you felt he could, actually, exist in the real world. I love that when the going got tough in their relationship, it took real world turns. It didn’t play out like a fantasy on paper; it was messy, and raw, their words hurtful and bitter.

Overall, this book felt like an embracing of the messiness of the real world and the magic you can find in friendship, in romance, and in family. I absolutely loved it and I’m so glad I ended up reading this one!

Sage Collins is heading to her first comic con as a newly published author—hungover, stressed, and desperately behind on her sequel deadline. Her only goal is to survive the flight and maybe bang out a few words. The universe has other plans. Namely: Theo Sharpe, the distractingly hot guy in the next row who insists on chatting the entire flight.

She brushes it off…until the paparazzi catch them in a compromising position and the internet goes feral. Turns out Theo is a rising British actor with a passionate online following who quickly targets Sage in a social media smear campaign. Sage, meanwhile, just wants to get back to writing her damn book.

Cue a last-ditch escape to a sleepy Scottish village. But guess who’s there, too? Yep. Theo.

Think The Holiday meets a gentler Notting Hill, with a very of-the-moment look at fandom culture, burnout, and the expectations we carry—online and off.

✨My Thoughts: Four Stars, Some Notes

Celebrity romances are my personal catnip. Do they require a healthy suspension of disbelief? Sure. Do I still devour them like a late-night Taco Bell run? Absolutely.

But what I appreciated most about The Odds of You is that it goes beyond the glitz. This isn’t just about fame—it’s about pressure. The pressure to produce, to succeed, to live up to the version of yourself that other people project onto you.

My only real critique is that Theo occasionally felt a little too perfect. A touch more edge or internal conflict might’ve made him feel even more grounded.
But overall, this was a smart, thoughtful, and deeply charming read with just enough swoon to balance the angst.

✅Bottom line: If you like celebrity romances with heart, vulnerability, and humor, you’ll want this one on your 2026 TBR.

🙏Big thanks to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Griffin for the ARC. The Odds of You hits shelves January 6, 2026.

Unbelievable book by Kate Dramis. Some of the most delicious writing I’ve read all year. Stunning romance. Absolutely adored all the characters. Especially Sage and Emerson. You can just tell when an author loves women. I could read about Sage and Theo forever. Maybe add in Emerson and Taylor’s story! PLEASE!
Easy five stars.
