Empire of the Dawn (Sampler) by Jay Kristoff has me anticipating book three so bad right now!
I literally don’t think Kristoff can write a bad book!
It’s impossible!
Can’t wait for this to hit. It’s going to be epic!
Thank you NetGalley and St. Martin Press for a sneak peek inside this one!

I've never read anything from this author before, but after reading this, that will definitely be changing. The writing style is so unique, the characters are complex, and the story itself is amazing. I will absolutely be buying this entire series for my personal collection. I absolutely love it and can't wait to read what happens next!

WOW! This was an amazing start to Empire of the Dawn. I was already anticipating the release date but now I am sitting by my mailbox for my preorder to arrive in November. I read this sampler in one go and was so sad when it ended. If you have not read the first two what are you doing? If you have read the first two I highly recommend picking up this sampler to make the wait a little less!

I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Oh hey, I'm DYING TO READ THIS even more now, thanks.

At the risk of gushing- I LOVE THIS SERIES. While this isn’t the full story I immediately sank back into the world. I hadn’t realized how much I missed Gabriel, Baptiste, and Aaron. The new characters introduced are adding yet another layer of complexity to Gabriel’s story and I am loving it. Lachlan, however, is driving me nuts with his hatred of Aaron - but I suppose it’s a normal phenomenon for some people to not be able to let go of their prejudices even though they have been presented with new information. This teaser has made me even more eager to read the full book; November can’t get here soon enough!

WoW... When you think there is nothing else to bring to the table, the author pulls new characters from the past and present that immediately grab our attention. I love the family Leon past story, and this one will give us more information. I read only a sample, but it's already promising. Also, we'll have more from our favorites. I got access to this one yesterday, and I couldn't put it down.

Well,
This didn’t much help I am still awaiting the full book! Jay Kristoff has told such a phenomenal story and I can’t wait to read its conclusion!!

PHENOMENAL. Jay Kristoff just blows me away every time. I'm obsessed with the intricacies and layers of this world, the complex characters, the gorgeous writing, and the sheer dark grittiness on every page. This is what gothic fantasy should be, and I'm absolutely dying to read the rest! Is it November 4th yet???

What a tease! I’m super stoked for the official release. Hard to give a full 5 stars to something I’ve read only a part of but this is very promising! Happy, yet also sad, that the journey is coming to an end.

Despite being just a teasing taste of the book, I am very eagerly awaiting November! Cannot wait to read the remainder, so excited!
Thank you to St. Martin’s Press & NetGalley for the opportunity to read an eARC in exchange for my honest review.

Big thanks to Netgalley and Jay Kristoff for an eARC in exchange for a review.
So, to be clear, I got a SAMPLE. whomp whomp.
I nearly passed out when I got the email saying I was approved, then proceeded to cry like a tantruming toddler when I realized it was only part of the book.
But GOD DAM was it good. I'm anxiously awaiting the full book (I pre ordered, cause of course) and if I have time (bahhh hahaha no I don't) I might do a reread of the first 2.
I'm anticipating a twist with Celine, I think I know, but again SAmPlEr ugh.
5 stars and I'm unlikely going to change it to anything less once I read the second half.

🌟Thank you Netgalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review!🌟
Even though this was only a sample of the first hundred pages or so - I'M HOOKED! I'm dying to read the rest and I'm even MORE excited for its release!!!

This little sampler definitely left me hyped for the final book in this series! Kristoff is one of my favorite authors, and this series is just fantastic. Can't wait to read the rest!

Huge thank you to St Martins Press and NetGalley for an early sample of my most anticipated release of the year. When I say I SCREAMED and nearly wrecked my car when I received my approval email.
Only having the first 20ish% of this book is very cruel, and that’s exactly the way Jay Kristoff would like it. His ability to transport readers into his world is incredible. His books are the most vivid reading experience and I’m in shock every time.
I’ve already cried like four times and we’ve barely begun. I know this book is going to utterly destroy me and honestly I can’t wait.
November can’t come soon enough, but I also don’t want this series to end. Sigh.

NetGalley and St Martin's Press were gracious enough to let me read the sneak peek/sampler for Empire of the Dawn... which is only the first 15 chapters or so. Oh wait, did I say gracious? I meant to say CRUEL because I was absolutely enthralled, and cutting me off at chapter 15? I'm absolutely certain this qualifies as cruel and unusual punishment, because those first few chapters were amazing.
Kristoff jumps right back into the action. There's an incredibly helpful bit at the start to remind us of who each character is, and then we pick up exactly where we left off in book 2. It's a perfect continuation, the same sharp prose and wicked humor, and devastating emotional beats.
This book is going to ruin me, I can already tell.

While it's incredubly difficult to rate this, with it being only a sampler, I will do my best!
I'm rating 5 stars. I know what this book is going to be, I've read the other two lmao.
AAAAAHHHHHH!!!! This is one of my most anticipated releases this year and I'm SO excited for it to come out! I fear that reading this has made the wait until November even harder. Thank you SO much to the publisher and to NetGalley for approving my request to read this!!!!!
The world is so immersive, and the characters are so incredibly relatable. None of these charcters are 100% "good," or 100% "bad."........Well besides the vampres and I fear that is the whole point. Jay Kristoff has done an amazing job of getting you to feel for these characters and truly make you feel like you are witnessing everything with your own eyes. It is truly a testament to the effort he has put in to the story and his craft.
If there is not at least a semi-happy ending for Baptiste and Aaron, Jay Kristoff will be on the list of my mortal enemies. Their love story is so wonderful, and it breaks my heart that the incidents of the previous book have placed them so at odds. NOT TO MENTION what happens in the small portion that is available within the sampler.
Listen, and just hear me out on this, if Jean and Gabreil don't break the tension between them soon, I may revert to my fifteen year old self and start writing fanfic.
On a serious note, I can tell with the way this series is progressing that there will be an unfortunate fate that meets one of the main charcters. It has been hinted at so much, and after everything they have gone through and lost, it would be deserved. I can only imaging that they will be surrounded by the loved ones they have lost when that time comes and I will shed enough tears to fill a moderately sized lake. A selfish part of me wants that to not happen though.
I'm terribly attatched now and the end of this series is going to HURT.

First off, THANK YOU St. Martin's Press for allowing me to have early access to this sample of Empire of the Dawn. I had an incredible time seating myself to listen to the tale of Gabriel De Leon. I continue to be fascinated by the creativity of Jay Kristoff and how many ways he can tell a tale. I audibly gasped when I got to the end of this sample without being able to continue to Celene's POV (rude). I can feel in my bones that this is going to lead to an epic finale to an incredible series with no lack of emotion, gruesome action and vampire deliciousness. I look forward to seeing all lines being tied together in a way that only Kristoff can accomplish.

When I asked for this book I didn't realize that it was just a preview. I need to read the fine print better.
I enjoyed the hell out of what I had to read. I loved the first two books and this one was just getting good but then guess what, the sampler is over. I would talk more about it but I didn't get the full book so I haven't got as much to say. I'd recommend it from the sampler and just from enjoying the first two novels.

This was provided by NetGalley, only first 184 pages as a teaser. I wish I could give it infinite stars, anything written by Jay will always be perfect. Cannot wait for the full version land on my porch in November!
