This story was... fine. Old school D&D style quest to go kill a big baddie. Mismatched band that included a paladin-type character, a magic user, rogue/thief, warrior, unwilling prisoner, etc. There was a lot more humor than I expected. I didn't think the "twist" in the end was particularly shocking. All-in-all, the story was a good enough palate cleanser, but nothing particularly special.

Spiderlight by Adrian Tchaikovsky a good read that explores various avenues of morality, choices and how they shape what we become.
