This is my first book by Sarah Fox that I have read, and I wasn't disappointed. Yes, it's a magical book but it also comes across with this whimsical feel to it all on its own. I loved the story and that you could actually feel all the things you feel when fall is in season. And oh my gosh, I just fell in love right away with the animal sanctuary. I love all kinds of critters, but I have a special place in my heart for donkeys and reading about those poor neglected souls getting saved made me want to cry and cheer all at the same time lol.

Georgie, Auntie O, Callum and all the rest have such loving and generous spirits. You can feel that as well as read it. Anyway, I also really enjoyed the mystery. I love that it was a mystery inside of a mystery. Those are my favorite. And don't get me started on the magical pups! I loved them a lot and the fact that they had such personalities all on their own and that you can really envision them in this book and their purpose. I really enjoyed that. So often, pet counterparts seem to come off as more of the furniture in the background instead of being front and center. I really loved that.

This book has everything you need in it to imagine a clear crisp fall day and be able to snuggle up and read in a nice soft fluffy blanket. I recommend this book.

Thanks to Net Galley, the publishers, and to Sarah Fox for the ability to read and review this book. All opinions are my own and are completely honest.

This book had such a fun twist and I wasn’t sure what to expect when I started this. I had it on my list for summerween reads and it fit perfectly.

A clever, cozy mystery with just the right amount of chills and charm! Sarah Fox delivers a delightful blend of suspense, small-town secrets, and endearing characters that keep you turning the pages. A must-read for cozy mystery fans!

In Tail from the Crypt, the town is preparing for Halloween and the animal sanctuary is sponsoring a fundraiser event. A newcomer to town, Genevieve wants to be the leader of every event, but she is rude, overbearing, and does no actual work while antagonizing everyone she deals with. Soon, Georgie is once again looking for clues in a murder, along with her two unusual dogs and an owl. A fun mystery with sweet dogs, cats, and donkeys and just a touch of romance makes a delightful cozy mystery for Halloween.
Thanks to Severn House and NetGalley for the ARC.

Cute & cozy! This is a fun spooky mystery that will be perfect to read in the fall. I'm a sucker for animal sidekicks so I will for sure check out the series again.

3.5/5

This was a super quick and fun little spooky story!

We've got some spooky small town drama, a mysterious and suspicious newcomer that is sticking their fingers in all the pies, crime, and a murder mystery! All wrapped up in some coziness that I pictured taking place in any town from a Halloween movie from the 90's or early 2000's.

Oh, and how could I forget, the dog sidekicks?! And yes, they are literal sidekicks. As in, they help solve crime! It reminded me a bit of that AirBud Halloween movie in a way.

And there is just a teeny tiny scooch of romance, but it's not really a major player. But I did like the depth it added to the characters, it was done very well.

I definitely see myself going back to this series. And I especially plan on doing that once we get closer to Halloween (but luckily, I am in a majorly Summerween mood, so this was perfect).

Thanks to NetGalley for the e-ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review! My Goodreads review is up and my TikTok (Zoe_Lipman) review will be up at the end of the month with my monthly reading wrap-up.

This book is technically part of a series, but I jumped in without reading the earlier books and had no problem keeping up. However, keep in mind that there are some mentions of previous cases.

This was such an easy and cute little cozy mystery! If you’re into Halloween vibes, adorable (paranormal) animals, and a solid murder twist—you’re in for a treat 🎃🔪

I really loved the characters, and the romance is so cute, without steamy scenes. Sometimes you just want a murder mystery without all the steam, y’know?

Thanks to Severn House and NetGalley for providing me with a digital ARC. Needless to say, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Love the author's books but somehow missed this series! This one combines my favorite themes: rescue animals, pets, cozy mystery, romance, and supernatural aspects. No disappointments, definitely a cute cozy!
I requested and received a temporary uncorrected digital galley from Severn House via NetGalley.

If you love animals, Halloween, and murder mystery, this is a must-read for you! I loved Euclid the owl and Fancy and Flossie. You won't see the end coming! This is full of surprises and quite wholesome.

This is a really easy read. I really enjoyed this cozy mystery. I love that it's spice-free. It's part of a series, but I read this without reading the others first, and I wasn't lost at all.

I loved the cover of "Tails From the Crypt." Cozy mysteries are one of my favorite genres, and I also love dogs and autumn, so naturally this book piqued my interest. It was an okay story, I just felt that there were too many side characters, and not many of them were fleshed out enough to be distinguished. Aside from the gender and one of the characters being a teenager I couldn't picture anything about them. There was more description about sandwiches being made in a couple of the chapters than there about the people in the story. I enjoyed reading about the animals, particularly the donkeys and the owl.

I had really enjoyed the first book in this series, so I was excited to request this book…not knowing I had somehow missed the second. No bother, as I felt immediately at home once I started (not knowing about the missing second LOL!), and I feel into the story immediately. I’d forgotten just how cozy and fun this series is with Georgie, Auntie O, and Callum, and of course the animal sidekicks. It’s so enjoyable to read about the animal sanctuary and how much the characters love the place. And, of course, I can’t forget the murder mystery too. That was also very satisfying, twisty, and hard to guess. This is just a fun, well-written, cozy mystery series with a slight paranormal bent. Highly recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.

This is book three, but can be read as a standalone. It is a cosy small town Halloween themed sleuthing mystery set in Dreamy autumn Twilight cove. The scene is set with atmospheric descriptions of autumn evenings as the main characters are getting the trail of terror fundraiser set up just as a murder happenes.
This story had me looking up certain foods described as they sounded tasty. Like the Orange pekoe tea.
I loved hearing about the two Spaniels Fancie and Flossy with special powers to help with the sleuthing. I absolutely adored reading about Twiggy & Tootsie's ,the Donkey's, recovery journey.
The Chemistry between Georgia and Callum is so sweet. Closed door, no spice.
A lovely cosy mystery.

Another wonderful addition to the Magical Menagerie Mystery series! I just love how Georgie's sweet pups, Fancy, Flossy, and the majestic great horned owl, Euclid, look after her and help her find clues. This was a fun Halloween themed read with all the cozy feels. Georgie, Aunt Olivia, and her boyfriend, Callum, are preparing for the animal sanctuary's Trail of Terror and helping with the pumpkin glow in town. Someone in town gets greedy and wants to take over the event, causing problems. When she turns up dead, it's Georgie's best friend, Tessa, who's the number one suspect. With fun characters, a puzzling murder, and interesting side plots, Tails from the Crypt is a winner. I can't wait for the next book in this series. Thank you to #NetGalley and #SevernHouse for the opportunity to read and review this book. #sarahfox #tailsfromthecrypt #cozymystery #halloween

Georgie and the farm crew are preparing for a fundraiser when another murder strikes. A newcomer to town, a nasty woman who is used to buying her way into everything is found murdered in the woods. The list of suspects is mounting, but when Georgie's friend Tessa becomes a suspect Georgie, along with Tessa, Collum and Roxy decide to investigate and clear Tessa's name.
Another delightful installment featuring all our favorite animals.

"Tails from the Crypt (A Magical Menagerie Mystery #3)" by Sarah Fox has Georgie and the volunteers at the animal sanctuary preparing for a Halloween trail of terror to raise money. They're all also helping with a pumpkin glow in town. Good thing some of this is their jobs too or they wouldn't have time to work. Georgie's boyfriend's parents will be coming for a visit, eventually, and she's worried they wont like her. Especially if she does appear to be enough homemaker like.

The mystery part centers around a newer person to town that wants to take over everything. Some major main character syndrome, as my gen alpha child would say since it's not like she does it in a way to win friends. So, it's a cozy mystery given she's either the victim or the culprit. And victim wins the flip. There are several suspects. In a but of a twist for this series, nearly all but a couple had something to be guilty for tying to the crime.

#TailsfromtheCrypt #NetGalley is a fun Halloween cozy mystery written by Sarah Fox.
With the holiday approaching, Georgie, her Aunt Olivia and her boyfriend Callum are preparing for the Trail of Terror, a fun activity that benefits their animal sanctuary.
When a new volunteer tries to overtake things, several people are annoyed and things take a turn for the worse when Georgie stumbles over body.
When Georgie's friend Tessa becomes a suspect, she and her canine companions Fancy & Flossie start to investigate. With the dog's magical techniques, they are determined to find the answers.

I really love a good Halloween cozy mystery, and this book checked all the boxes for me.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for selecting me to read an advanced copy of this book.

Halloween is approaching and the festivities are being planned. Georgie and her Auntie O are planning a Trail of Terror at their farm. But there is a new "lady" in town and she wants to be the star of the show. She has plenty of money and is used to getting what she wants. Of course her enemy list is adding up. When she is found dead in the woods, no-one is truly surprised to hear that she was murdered. The big surprise is that the chief suspect is Georgie's friend Tessa.
Can Georgie and her sweetie pie, Callum, clear Tessa? Georgie knows she will need help from the doggie duo of Fancy and Flossie. The dogs have a some unusual "skills."

The characters in this book are fun to get to know. There is just enough romance, interesting animals and plenty of suspects. Georgie and her crew are great amateur detectives. Ms. Fox drops lots of red herrings to keep you guessing right up until the surprise reveal.
This was a nice romp and a good read.
