a truly beautiful and emotional read! this sweet picture book captures the love, heartache, and hope that comes with the journey to parenthood.
the rhymes are simple yet powerful, and the stunning watercolor illustrations are soft and meaningful.
though written as a children’s book, the emotion behind each word is incredibly powerful for adults, especially those who’ve walked a challenging road to parenthood. highly recommend for a short, meaningful read!

That was honestly the sweetest and most heartfelt book. As a mother who struggled a long time to conceive a child. This book really hits home. The story is easy to read to your children, but the words are so impactful for those who have suffered infertility, a loss, or even going through the difficult process of adoption.
This book would make a great gift to any family that have traveled the journey to bring home their precious bundle of joy. It would be a wonderful reminder, and a sentimental story to share with that baby as they grow older.
The illustrations were gorgeous, simple, but also meaningful. I highly recommend this book!

This book was super cute and I loved that the rhyming scheme stayed consistent throughout. I loved that the dandelion seed was included in each illustration, I thought that was a very clever way to drive the point of the book home. At first, I didn't understand how the title related to the story but it was tied together at the end quite nicely.

An adorable little children’s book. Beautifully illustrated and such a sweet story about the love we have for our children when we ache for them to be born, and the love we have for them once they’re here.

This is a sweet, simple picture book perfect for bedtime. This story is reminiscent of Love You Forever by Robert Munsch but is more digestable (and less heartwrenching!) for younger children. The perfect baby shower gift purchase for first time parents!

Now that I have an infant of my own, the children’s books that are also for parents bring a special warmth to story time.
I will definitely be looking for a hard copy for our children’s library. It is beautifully illustrated, reinforces the love you have for your child and affirms the journey parents experience waiting for their joy.

(Please note: trigger warnings for my review in discussing pregnancy loss and journey).
Ok, this is going to be a bit of heart-splurge of a review, but this short book of only 28 pages had me crying soft tears, my heart squeezed. As a mother who underwent four miscarriages, an ecoptic pregnancy, and lost the twin to her darling daughter - we have been through a lot. And this book just made me feel so much strength from that struggle - because I did it my darling baby, I kept going and got through it all, and now we have beautiful you, and I would do it all again in a heartbeat, just so I can hold you.
"I'd do it all again, it's true, each step of the journey to you."
My word, how much emotion this poignant book has brought out of me. I think this will open a lot of emotions for women who have been through similiar stories, and I think, even though it's designed as a children's book to be read sweetly to your child, I almost want to have it just for me - to read again on those tough newborn days, and remind myself how amazing I am (and my family) to have gotten through this, and how amazing you are, my baby, to have gotten to us.
I tried to read it again, to expand my review, but it's got me crying again, so I'm going to go hug my baby and just say simply - have all the stars. No matter your journey, this book is impactful. I do want to gently suggest that this book is probably best brought for yourself - it evoked such deep emotion in me that I might have struggled to deal with, if someone brought it for me at the start of my pregnancy journey and it's really hard to judge how people will react to such an experience even if you know them really well - signposting people to it may be a gentler option.
The art is a delicate watercolour design which is perfect to offset the emotional words. My only critism is sometimes the font is hard to read against the artwork.

This book is a little hidden gem!!! 🥹 It was so sweet, thoughtful, and adorable and the illustrations were absolutely stunning. It was a nice, calming, and refreshing little read that brought me a lot of joy even if it made me tear up a little bit. On top of the gorgeous pictures was the most beautifully poetic prose. 💓 All you could hope for in a picture book!

A warm and heartfelt children’s story for both adults and children alike to enjoy. The moral of our story shows how a parent would do anything for their children, it is a heartfelt reminder there is anything you wouldn’t do for love. The gorgeous illustrations in this book bring the story to life and the rhyming couplets help to story flow throughout.
