Author: Chele Cooke
Release Date: Published in 2022.
Re-readability: No
Binge-Read Score: DNF
Overall Thoughts:
This book’s vibe is twilight meets London, with a cool concept of a familiar being bound to a vampire rather than a witch. There is even a scene where FMC drops something that is caught by the MMC who is a vampire, reminiscent of another book I know.
A note on the prologue: conflicting language left me slightly confused as to whether it was day/night or whether her friends were there/not there (e.g., perhaps a memory due to using italics). The attempt was for suspense, but instead it just kind of made me confused. The plot moved along fairly quick, but at some point, I found the writing style to be slightly over-descriptive and some of the conversations hard to read through.
Cool concept, but lost interest at 25% through which is why I did not finish. Some will like the book for the concept and I bet it improves further along.
