Was Ian Fleming a product of his time and problematic in retrospect? Of course he was. But that doesn't keep this from being a fascinating read, especially for those interested in the politics and views of the time. I picked this up expecting to roll my eyes from time to time, and I did, but it was interesting seeing the background that went into the Bond books. Also, I love how he didn't consider himself a foodie and then went on and on about food (honestly my favorite part of the book.) Of all the things to not be self-aware about.
