I was given this in audiobook form to give my honest feedback. My line of work is in Maternal Newborn at a hospital. We have a pelvic floor PT which is great! When I had my babies your pelvic floor was never talked about. This book was full of great information! I learned a lot and am excited to share my knowledge with others. I hope one day as Sara says that seeing pelvic PT will be something that everyone does and everyone knows about.

From pre-puberty through post-menopause and beyond, women's reproductive health is an oft-shamed, rarely discussed but vital-to-understand part of the AFAB experience - both for patients, and for those who love and respect them. The shame and stigma around women's health is hard to overcome, but for some, the first step to addressing the stigma is as easy as wearing a life-size vagina costume and logging into TikTok. In "Floored: A Woman's Guide to Pelvic Floor Health at Every Age and Stage", board-certified pelvic floor physical therapist Dr. Sara Reardon offers the first-ever comprehensive guide to pelvic floor health for patients at every stage of caring and keeping a healthy pelvic floor.
I'm all about raising the roof for the pelvic floor, and that's just what Sara Reardon does with this affirming book. I was not aware of her prior to requesting this title, but I am really glad she's here - her social media is contagiously funny and I think provides laypersons and healthcare providers alive a great icebreaker to talk about the good, the bad, and the ugly around women's reproductive health at all ages. I listened to the audio for this book (narrated by the author) on a road trip, and found myself running the gamut of emotions all the way through as Sara worked her way up and down the pelvic floor anatomically, emotionally, and figuratively. Though I believe the audiobook comes with a PDF guide, I will be seeking out a physical copy for reference and to lend to others some time in the future.
I think it is really hard to find a respectable balance between being an influencer and talking about medical topics - I am generally wary of so-called #medfluencers because there is so much room to disregard fact, rationale, and nuance in the face of getting likes and views, but I really appreciate the work Sara Reardon is trying to do with her platform, this book, and in the way she connects those who took an interest in her work with the works of many other experts in the field of female reproductive health. I think this drives a pleasantly surprising balance between detailed (yet approachable) health information and a self-help guide (and I generally do not care for self-help reading, but this was really lovely). I think everyone from AFAB persons with no healthcare experience to physicians who are looking for a good reference material or jump-off fun, yet educational read for themselves and their patients will really enjoy this book!

Such a fascinating and eye-opening read! This book truly helped me better understand and navigate my own struggles. Knowing that so many women silently face the same issues—and that many go undiagnosed—is both heartbreaking and empowering. Sara Reardon explains everything with clarity and compassion, making it feel like you're finally being heard and understood. Highly recommend for anyone dealing with pelvic floor issues or just wanting to understand their body better.

This was great. I learned a lot and it made me like think so much about my pelvic floor and check out my health.

Thank you for the ALC NetGalley & Harlequin Audio in exchange for an honest review 🎧
A wonderful resource for understanding how to care for your body. It has best practices for daily activities and comprehensive information in an easy to understand language.
I recommend everyone read this - especially women - as I had no knowledge of the pelvic floor's function within my body and have adjusted the way I sit & perform daily activity.
The narration of the audiobook was done by Sara and she did an excellent job.

Very interesting and accessible guide to pelvic floor health. This subject is not talked about enough and it’s great to have all of this information together in one comprehensive book! I learned a lot and will be recommending it to others!

Dr. Sara Reardon provides valuable information for women of all ages in her book. Floored explains what pelvic muscles are, how we used them, and what happens when they are not working properly. Her examples are clear and she offers great advice and techniques for her physical therapy practice. There are chapters on all stages of life and all types of challenges women face. We talk so much about weak pelvic floor muscles, that I was surprised by all the issues that tight muscles can cause. I gave the book four stars because there were too many examples and it was a bit preachy for my taste.
Thank you NetGalley and Dr. Reardon for an ARC. This is my honest opinion of the book.

Pelvic Floor health is one of those topics that is never really taught or thought about. Sure, everyone has heard of a Kegel, but there is so much more to know and understand. For starters, I did not even know that a pelvic floor physical therapist was even a thing before I picked up this book.
Floored by Dr. Sara Reardon is a revolutionary book on pelvic floor health that contains practical advice, pelvic floor exercises, and a warm guidance as you navigate through whatever stage in life you find yourself.
Floored was an engaging and illuminating look at what pelvic floor conversations can and should look like. EVERYONE with a pelvic floor should read this book.
Thank you to NetGalley and Harlequin Audio for the advance access to this book in exchange for my honest review.

🩺 Bookish Thoughts
Wow, this book is powerful.
I learned so much! Things I honestly should have known already but didn’t because women’s health education is so often lacking. So many of these insights would have helped me growing up.
This isn’t just a book about pelvic floor health. It touches on essential parts of women’s health across every stage of life, from menstruation to menopause. What stood out most to me was how truly educational it is. Dr. Reardon doesn’t just explain the science. She gives practical, day to day examples and best practices that feel accessible and empowering.
I’ll definitely be rereading this one. There’s so much to process, and I know I’ll take away something new each time. As someone who has always struggled with my menstrual cycle, I felt deeply seen.

Thank you to Harlequin Audio and NetGalley for the advanced copy. All thoughts are my own.

Everyone with a pelvic floor needs to read this.
While it says it's a woman's guide, some of the book's language is a little more inclusive. Could be more inclusive, but growth.
In any case, I learned a lot about my own body. Not a surprise, but pelvic floor physical therapists are few and far between. I won't even get into the inadequacies of American healthcare.
🎧 Thank you to NetGalley and Harlequin Audio

I've always enjoyed learning more about my body in relation to female anatomy and this book was perfectly written. Not only is Floored informative and thourough but it is easy to follow along and highly engaging. I learned so much about my pelvic floor and I feel confident in talking to my doctor about any needs I have now and in the future. Listening to Sara read her own work felt natural, like I was getting advice from friend with the education to back up their advice. Everyone with a pelvic floor should read this book.

OK this book is great and I got the audio book from NetGalley (thanks to the publisher) and the author read it, which was great but yall need a hard copy of this one. I was going to give a 4 star simply for that reason but I can’t. I’m sitting here listening, thinking I need to buy a copy of this for myself and for my daughter. I need to buy this for every woman I know. I think this will be my go-to gift for baby showers.. for weddings.. for 40th birthdays. This information is SO important! It’s truly for women of all ages. And it’s not just for those pregnant or postpartum. It’s truly for everyone. Far too long, woman’s pain has been ignored or brushed off. Our suffering has been normalized and made into an inconvenience. If you’ve leaked while sneezing, this is common.. but it’s not normal and it’s not every woman’s destiny! Surprise, your pelvic floor muscles are connected to everything! Some of the general info about perimenopause really had me floored. I just didn’t know anything.
This is a very practical guide with stretches and exercises listed and referred back to again and again. This is why a hard copy lying around that you can flip back and forth with is essential. As a 40yo mom of 3, I highly recommend this book!

Floored is the book I didn’t know I desperately needed. Sara Reardon does an incredible job of breaking down the complexities of pelvic floor health in a way that’s both informative and empowering. Her tone is warm, funny, and refreshingly honest—like getting advice from a super knowledgeable friend who also happens to be a top pelvic floor physical therapist.
What really stood out to me was how inclusive and practical the book is. Whether you're navigating postpartum recovery, dealing with incontinence, or just want to better understand your body, there’s something here for every stage of life. The self-assessment tools and exercises are easy to follow, and I loved how she included real-life stories that made the content feel relatable and human.
Reardon’s passion for women’s health shines through every page. She doesn’t just educate—she empowers. I finished this book feeling more in control of my body and more confident in advocating for my health. Highly, highly recommend!

I have learned so much from listening to this audiobook! I love the experience this author had to share and I will absolutely utilize what I’ve learned from this book. I’ve already subscribed to her YouTube channel! It’s so important to know about your body and the things you can do to prevent pelvic pain and common issues women have due to lack of education in this area. I wish this was a more widely taught subject- my health class in high school was way lacking and I want to teach my future children more than I ever was.

This was a very thorough, educational, and supportive guide through pelvic health at every age. The author uses inclusive language, recognizing that not everyone with a vagina identifies as female, and that pelvic health can be important for both sexes.
From childhood, to childbearing, perimenopause to menopause, there are important considerations to know including how to know whether you have incontinence or tension, how to manage your physical health and sex life, and how waste elimination depends on a strong pelvic floor to improve everything from urinary incontinence to constipation.
I listened to the audiobook, read by the author, and was blown away by how helpful this book is for readers. I want to get the physical book now, so I can turn to necessary chapters over and over.
I highly recommend this book for libraries, physical therapy offices, doctor's offices (especially OBGYNs), and anyone with a pelvic floor.

Floored is a book by Sara Reardon: A Woman's Guide to Pelvic Floor Health at Every Age and Stage―A Comprehensive Guide for Women of All Ages. I have been following Dr Readon for years on social media and love that she has but all her advice into a book.
This is a book everyone woman should read - there is so much important information in here that many doctors never discuss with female patients. This book is a tool box to help guide women on an array of issues - I was gifted the audio book by NetGalley and have ordered the hard copy.
Thank you to NetGalley for an early review of the book.

Reading challenge category – 2025 Popsugar: features a character going through menopause (okay, not really a character, but a whole section is about pelvic floor health during menopause)
Definitely comprehensive! Unfortunately, I have a personal experience with this, so I already knew a lot of the information -- but I had to reseach it myself across many different platforms. This is a great resource for someone who is just starting to look into pelvic floor health and needs information. I recommend to all.

A lot of the content in this book didn’t really apply to me personally, but it’s definitely a good resource for women who want to learn about their pelvic floors at different stages of life. If you’ve never tried pelvic floor therapy, this book is a solid introduction to what it’s about and the exercises that can help with specific issues. I found I could skip or skim the chapters that weren’t relevant to me, and it’s nice to know you can go back later if your situation changes. Even though I didn’t relate to everything, I appreciated how Sara writes about pelvic health in a funny and approachable way.

I learned so much during this book! The audio was fantastic. I will be frequently referencing this book with my patients.

This is a very informative book. As a woman in my 50s, some of the information no longer pertained to me but some of it did and it was very helpful. I listened to the audio book and the narration was good. I would reccomend this book to all women.
Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my review.
