This cookbook is cute. The pictures are beautiful and there are plenty of recipes per section. What I was not a fan of is the layout of the recipes. You may think I'm crazy because it's laid out like any cookbook - but it's not. First, the font for the recipe names, ingredients list, and yield was definately a choice. Some of the letters like B's, C's, S's all seem to be upside down and was not making me enjoy reading this. The directions are in a normal font, I don't know why this particular font was chosen. Really not a fan. Secondly, any "as needed" ingredient suggestions appear at the bottom of the page. This was also an odd choice of placement in my opinion. For example, ther recipe for Fried Eggplant with Garlic & Ras El Hanout - the ras el hanout is only a suggestion at the bottom of the page. All of this can be easily missed and leave the recipes very bland.
Overall, while this is a pretty book to look at - font choices aside - it's not for me. I really went into this with high expectations and it fell flat for me.

I like the concept of less ingredients, easier to follow and to remember so this was great! Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for a copy.

All these recipes look utterly delicious. I’ve been tying to eat lots of blue zone based meals, and these will be perfect to add in! The photography is IMPECCABLE as well!

This book doesn't like, almost every recipe is 7-ingredients or less, which is fantastic. I hate when you have to have 50 ingredients some you'll never use for any recipe other than the one you're making.
I received this book as an ARC from NetGalley, which is awesome. There are a few quirks I didn't love in the book. The font bothered me a little bit. The title and the body fonts were very different and didnt feel like cohesive. I read this as an ebook on my iPad Pro, which could be the problem, but some of the images were grainy. Like they had been stretched to fit a spot they were too small to fit. Most of the images though were fantastic. Made you hungry just looking at them.
While I wouldn't make a chunk of the recipes, not a fan of fish and can't eat shellfish, however there were a lot of other options. Some of my favorites, that I can't wait to make are:
Fried Artichokes
Spaghetti alla nerano
Crispy Polenta Cakes
Fried Brussels Sprouts with Tahini and Feta
The sides sound so so good without being extremely complicated to make. I love mediterranean food, so this cook book was awesome to review. I do wish there were more pictures as to what some dishes should look like, just because I'm not familiar with them. but I guess that's what google image search is for.
This would make a great gift for someone with a beautiful bottle of craft olive oil and a nice bottle of wine.

This was a great cookbook. The only criticism I have is that I wish it included more info about what region the recipe is from! Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for this arc ebook in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.

Thank you to NetGalley and Cider Mill Press for this ARC.
I've always been interested in the Mediterranean diet so I was happy to get access to this book.
The book is American which is why we get the skillet and the kosher salt. It also uses the imperial measuring system throughout. The metric system is mentioned at the end but while we get a conversion table, it would be a lot more helpful for the international market to have both measurements mentioned in the recipes so we don't always have to look up and calculate what a cup of anything is.
The dishes are divided into Snacks and Appetisers, Entrées, Salads and Sides and Desserts. The entrées really confused me at first because for the rest of the world they are starters, but in the US they are the main courses.
I really tried to like this book as the pictures are lovely but not every dish is accompanied by a picture, plus a lot of dishes have a foreign name that is neither translated nor explained. Why would I make a dish on the strength of some ingredients without knowing what it is and what it should look like?
The recipes are presented without much elegance and this is yet another cookbook that promises a lot and delivers barely anything. Things like "fire-roasted oysters" and "slow-cooked cherry tomatoes" are not proper or everyday dishes so why are they in there? The USP of this book are the seven ingredients only per dish but if those ingredients are exotic and the dish takes a long time to cook, it doesn't really help the average person.
I don't doubt that these are healthy recipes that should taste good, and if you were to plan a Mediterranean party buffet, some of the starters and salads would make a great addition. However, I don't think this book will work for everyday meals that you can make quickly at home.
My search for the perfect cookbook about the Mediterranean diet goes on I'm afraid as this isn't it.

I really enjoy the recipes found in this cookbook. Each recipe focuses on whole foods, healthy fats, and good protein choices. I appreciate that each recipe is easy enough to create on a busy weeknight, and many come with beautiful photos that show off the dish. The best part is that this includes several recipes I've never heard of before, even though I own multiple Mediterranean.
I do plan to purchase this when it comes out.

I found 7-Ingredient Mediterranean to be an all around success of a cookbook. Each recipe is thoughtfully curated as an attainable and easy offering that doesn't lack in flavor or authenticity. The images are lovely and evocative adding to the excitement of creating each dish. It would make a fine addition to any home cooks library.

This is an interesting cookbook, full of recipes in every category and some beautiful pictures. I like that there are only seven ingredients, but several of them I don't have on hand, so that's a potential problem for me. I see some recipes I will definitely try, but quite a few I would not, personally

I received an ARC for free and gave my honest opinion voluntarily.

Thank you Netgalley, and Cider Mill Press for sending me this advanced review copy for free. I am leaving this review voluntarily.
The photography is gorgeous!. I also really enjoyed how clean and uncluttered the pages are. The page colors look really nice next to the photos too. I wish there had been a photo for every dish, because I'm not sure what some of them should look like when done. I like that it is separated in sections, like Appetizers, Entrees, Salads, and more.
The directions are simple and easy to understand. There is enough detail that I think most beginners handle them with ease. A lot of the ingredients can be difficult to find locally if you are in a rural area, but many can be substituted or ordered online.

This is my favorite kind of cookbook - the recipes are accompanied by gorgeous photos. And they’re each made with 7 ingredients or less! Recipes are written simply and clearly with both overall and active cooking time outlined for those of us who never look before we start cooking! Can’t wait to incorporate these recipes into our meal plans!

A bright and fresh collection of simple recipes!
Take the headache out of creating healthy meals and check out this collection of recipes with simple ingredients.
All of the recipes have fresh, healthy, accessible ingredients, good fats, and balanced flavours. Most of the ingredients are already in you fridge and pantry. Vibrant colour and flavours in all of the recipes, with mouth watering descriptions!
Can't wait to try some of these recipes out!

7-Ingredient Mediterranean recipes focus on fresh whole foods, healthy fats, & protein for tasty and nutritious meals the whole family will love! The photos are beautiful, and I could definitely see this as a coffee table book in hard copy.
The layout is simple but effective., grouping recipes by course. As in the title, each meal focuses on 7 ingredients (excluding things like olive oil, salt & pepper).
Overall, I think this book will be beneficial to newbies in the kitchen as well as add in several healthy & delicious meals to the weekly meal plan for those more experienced.
Thank you NetGalley & Cider Mill Press for the ARC!
