I was intrigued by the concept and went in expecting something a little steamier and more engaging, especially for an erotica novel—but unfortunately, this one just didn’t work for me. The pacing felt off, and the plot didn’t seem to go anywhere. It ended up feeling repetitive, and I had a hard time connecting with the characters or getting invested in what was happening.
There was also something about the writing that felt a little…off. I can’t quite put my finger on it, but it had this kind of odd vibe that made it hard to get lost in the story because I kept feeling like the interactions between characters weren't quite realistic.
This might work for someone looking for a super light, slow-burn intro to the genre, but it just wasn’t for me.

A Deliciously Forbidden Dive into Obsession!
Nicole Perucca has penned a truly captivating and intensely spicy romance with "Wired For Desire." From the very first page, I was completely drawn into the undeniable chemistry between the protagonists. The "forbidden" aspect of their connection adds a layer of thrilling tension that kept me eagerly turning the pages, desperate to see how their complicated relationship would unfold.
Perucca masterfully builds the desire between the characters. It's not just a surface-level attraction; it's a deep, consuming obsession that simmers with intensity and occasionally erupts in truly scorching scenes. The author doesn't shy away from the "spicy" elements, delivering on the promise of a passionate and sensual read that will leave you breathless.
Beyond the heat, the characters themselves are well-developed and engaging. Their internal conflicts and the reasons behind the "forbidden" nature of their attraction feel genuine, adding emotional depth to the story. I found myself invested in their individual journeys and rooting for them to overcome the obstacles in their path, despite the inherent complications.
The pacing of the story is excellent, balancing the development of the relationship with moments of high tension and emotional vulnerability. Perucca's writing style is immersive and evocative, making it easy to get lost in the characters' world and feel their longing and desire as if it were your own.
If you're looking for a romance that delivers on its promise of spice, forbidden temptation, and a captivating obsession, then "Wired For Desire" is a must-read. Be prepared for a story that will stay with you long after you've finished the final page!
Five out of Five Flames! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

The author is very verbose and uses a lot of flowery language as filler before getting to the meat and potatoes. Unfortunately I had to mark do not finish due to my lack of interest.

There were aspects of this book that I really enjoyed, and a few that didn’t quite land for me. The story reads like a novella—short and sweet—which is great if you're in the mood for something quick and light.
The plot follows Brea, a down-on-her-luck waitress looking for a fresh start. After losing her 9-to-5 job, she crosses paths with a mysterious woman who offers her an unexpected opportunity. With nothing to lose, Brea accepts—and what follows is a whirlwind journey that takes her (and her best friend Daisy) all the way to Hawaii.
Brea as a protagonist had potential. Her desire to change her life was relatable, and I appreciated her vulnerability and internal struggle. At times, though, her character felt a little flat—she often seemed caught in her head, which I imagine was intentional, but it could have used more depth or development to fully connect with her journey.
Daisy, her best friend, was energetic and supportive, though her dialogue started to feel repetitive after a while. She frequently told Brea to stop overthinking and dance, which fits a typical “bestie” role, but I would’ve liked to see more moments where she actively helped Brea work through her thoughts rather than just cheering from the sidelines. She had potential to be a stronger, more layered character.
The male lead, Tristen, was surprisingly refreshing. Despite a few moments that bordered on uncomfortable, his shyness and sincerity added some heart to the story, and he felt more fleshed out than some of the other characters.
Overall, I think this book had a lot of charm, and the premise was intriguing. I do wish it had been a bit longer to allow for more character development and emotional payoff. The ending left me reeling—in a good way—and I’m definitely curious to see what happens next. If you're looking for a fast-paced, feel-good escape with a bit of romance and adventure, this could be a fun pick.

I don’t think this cover could have possibly been more misleading. I had such high hopes for this book. I mean, come on, that cover is gorgeous and gives off the vibe that you are about to enter into a seductive story of hot, steamy romance. Unfortunately it was not. I found this to be very slow paced and extremely repetitive. It certainly did not need to be as long as it was but the added filler just made it drag on. I wanted to like this book so much, however, it fell short for me.

The cover of the book is beautiful and the description was okay however I have to be honest I only got 4 chapters in and started to lose intrest as it takes far to long to get to the point of the story

I enjoyed this title from Evans. I was surprised I found it as good as I did. The storyline was entertaining, and the spice was how I like it! Lots! Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC.

I feel like some things were added just for word count. It was a very mundane plot. Basic kink and spice for the hype.

This is the start to an erotic story of desire, fantasies, intrigue, and possible danger! A down on her luck waitress meets the right person who leads her to a job of seductress. But the lines between fantasy and reality get a little blurred.
A great beginning. Looking forward to what comes next for Tristan and Brea.
I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
