Hold Me For Now is a dark, emotional romance novella that packs a punch in a short space. It follows Kristi and T, two strangers brought together in a clinical intimacy experiment, where emotional vulnerability turns into unexpected connection and steam.

Readers love the blend of deep emotional healing, steamy scenes, and the well-crafted "forced proximity" and "strangers to lovers" tropes. Though short, it delivers strong character growth and an impactful story. Perfect for fans of intense, spicy novellas with heart.

We love a good healing book 🙌 This was a fun read, a cute little healing journey between two people. To be honest I’m really intrigued to see more of this, more of the doctors patients and more on the doctor, I think that would be really interesting. The MCs were interesting characters, I enjoyed seeing them delve into more of the struggles they were facing and why they were there as they got more and more comfortable with each other. Same as I enjoyed seeing them working together to heal each other. In terms of spice, it was pretty much the whole premise of the book so it’s a 4/5 spice for me. Overall, I think it was fun read and I can’t wait to see more, it’s a 4/5 for me.

Hold me for now is a quick read nothing mind blowing but nothing necessarily terrible either. It was only 67 pages so i didn’t really have much time to from a emotional connection to the characters and personally that connection for me is what makes a book more touching however i was invested and did finish this in one sitting.

“It’s easy to throw stones at other people’s choices and ignore the glass walls that surround us…”

My first ARC off NetGalley and it did not disappoint! This novella is packed with emotion and spice in less than 90 pages. How can that be you ask?

The story revolves around K (FMC) and T(MMC). Two strangers who come together to participate in an experimental program run by Dr.D. The clinical trial aspect immediately drew me in and I could not put the book down. Both characters are seeking the same “cure” but neither anticipated experiencing deep moments of intimacy, vulnerability, and love through their unorthodox treatment.

The spice level is hot with its open door romance. It was written so well that I’d argue it’s not smutty at all. It felt organic and necessary for both characters in order to heal. Overall I definitely recommend this novella.

It released on 5/20 so get your copy now! Thank you to NetGalley and Lexi Davis

I received this as an arc and I'm grateful for the opportunity to read it before it's release! This story is short, but mighty. As someone who graduated with a degree in psychology, I very much enjoyed the idea of how these characters worked through their "problems". Though the book was short I grew an attachment to our leads K and T. I wished to see more of their home life and their before that lead them to the now. I think this book is great for those who like spice, but love the trope of an inexperienced MMC, love communication, and believe in love at first site.

I rated this Novela 4.5⭐️ I just devoured this spicy novella and it was pure perfection from cover to cover! The ending was the cherry on top. This story revolves around two strangers who connect in a most unconventional way. The sparks and emotions in this book were expertly woven. This is a quick and must-read. Having only read one of her books, I'm already hooked on Lexi's writing style. Thanks to Lexi Davis and NetGalley for the advanced reader's copy.

Loved this short, spicy, dark romance novella by Lexi Davis! Great as a pallet cleanser.
Hooks you from the very beginning!

Follows our male and female characters as they painstakingly search for a way to fix their problem in the, ahem, bedroom. They both individually enroll the help of a therapist and are paired together.
During their encounter sparks fly, feelings are developed, and the L word is said.

The spice is spicing with this one and is mixed with beautiful and surprising tender moments. Loved the ending and hope there will be more to their story! Can't wait to read more from this author.

A BIG thank you to the author, Victory Editing, and NetGalley for providing a copy of this book for my honest review.

I wasn't really sure what to expect when starting this novella, but was pleasantly surprised. This was a cute little read with a HEA. Dr. Desire knew exactly who to put together to make their goals a reality, how he did that IDK. I mean yeah there were some cringe moments, none of which stopped me from continuing on with the story. Basically, K and T are two people who just want to be fixed, and Dr. D makes it happen.

Read this book in about 30 minutes. It was a fun little read, way different than anything I’ve ever read. Spicy and emotional. I love the ending and I want to know more about the characters. Lexi needs to write a sequel! ☺️

Such a unique concept execution not quite there for me. Really loved the overall tone and uniqueness of this story and think its great in terms of something new and exciting within the romance world, but found a lot of it clunky.

For a shorter story I wish it flowed more smoothly and certain aspects like Dr. Desire's role and K and T's introduction were more fleshed out. I also do not find it dark in any aspect other than maybe Kristi's inner monologue regarding her self worth at times, so found that description a little misleading.

I wanted to root for Kristi and Trevor more than I did and feel that if Dr. Desire's explanation/presence was different or if the story started further along I think there would've been room for even more depth.

This was a quick read and the subject matter was quite different from what I anticipated. I just wish there was more character development which would have made the FMC and the MMC more relatable. If you want a break from romances and thrillers, you can pick up this novella and enjoy it.

I read one of Lexi Davis’ books for the first time the other day and knew I had to request this novella as soon as I saw it. This is a dark romance, and I was hooked the moment I spotted Taylor Swift lyrics in the dedication. I love how Lexi Davis writes with so much detail, even in a novella, it’s easy to picture the setting and really get to know the characters, while still staying short and sweet. It’s definitely a vulnerable exploration of intimacy and identity in an unconventional setting, and you feel so many emotions while reading. I’ll definitely be checking out more of Lexi Davis’ books when I’m after a spicy read.

Hold Me for Now by Lexi Davis is a short, spicy novella that's a good, emotional read.
While it delivered on heat and sentiment, the characters felt somewhat immature for my liking.
If you're looking for a quick, passionate read with emotional depth, this novella might be for you. Fans of spicy romance will likely enjoy it.
Thanking NetGalley and Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op for the opportunity to read and review this book.

I liked this book and I found it interesting. It was an easy read. I liked the storyline it was a unique scenario to read about. I wish there had more backstory to the characters. I feel like I would have had a better connection to the characters and their struggles if I knew them better. I love how the story ends on the importance of self-love. I think the story sends a great message about the importance of communication in relationships and remembering to love yourself. I want to give this 4 stars but I just feel like it needs a little more.

In this book the characters both have an issue with climaxing during sex. And they both have succumbed to signing up for this "sex therapy" that helps them finally figure out how to orgasm during sex. The topic seems very weird and direct, but the characters are appealing and you end up rooting for both of them and can see the trauma they both have dealt with as they interact with each other. It definitely feels like what an independent film would be like when read, but it dose very much draw you in. I enjoyed the book, and it's a quick read so you don't lose much time if you're not into it.

I don’t know how I feel about this book. I’m not typically someone who likes novellas because it’s hard for me to feel any sort of connection with the characters with so little to go off of but there was a lot of emotion between these two. I was immediately intrigued and given that it’s such a short and fast read I knew I’d finish it quickly. Two strangers come together to fix an issue they both have in the most unconventional way. I don’t think their of them expected it to work and I don’t think either one of them thought they’d come out the other side with so much newfound realization about themselves and their lives. The deeper meaning behind the story was beautiful, loving yourself first is so important and being able to openly communicate is one of the most important parts of being in a relationship. It was predicable as far as Trevor getting divorced and ending up back magically in the same place as Kristi, I definitely would read more about their developing relationship after they did the work on themselves and came back together. This book was cringey at times and the unusual way they fixed their issue was a little frightening but overall it wasn’t a bad read. I enjoyed the writing style and I would definitely read more from Lexi Davis!
