You know if she writes it, I’m gonna read it. So this was an obvious request. And this new ‘community’ was a great way to start after the Supernatural Singles series.
The dynamics between the main characters were absolutely melt worthy. And the fact that it was second chance and they truly deserved that was so good. As always, there’s a touch of adventure and a hint of mystery in this read which made it that much better.
The audio though. Y’all. Just listen to it. Isabelle Ruther and Teddy Hamilton together? Absolute magic. 😉

When everything goes wrong at the Fates Haven Finding Ceremony when she was 18 (the Blue Willow Wisp leads the cougar shifter boy she loves to her best friend), Harlow 'Harry' Pierce packs her bags, puts a 'non-tracking' spell on herself and leaves, vowing to never return.
It's been 13 years and she's coming back with her half-human, half-shifter goddaughter hoping the Alpha of the pack can help the troubled teenager who's been setting fire to things involuntarily. She'll have to face Jaxon Atwood... and everything she left behind.
Narrated dual style by Isabelle Ruther and Teddy Hamilton, the best way to describe this story is Stars Hollow and Halloweentown had a rom com baby. It's full of shenanigans and a bit of mystery (what kind of shifter is Gracie and where the heck is her father?). Isabelle's performance is funny, sassy and energetic as Harry and all the other female characters. Teddy is lovely as the reluctant Alpha who's really angry at the love of his life for not only leaving but preventing him from finding her. He even gives us a brit vampire in this one!
It's a fun, low angst, small town paranormal romance. Perfect for a lazy afternoon.
Thanks, Dreamscape Media for the ALC.

A Simple Twist of Fate by April Asher
Contemporary paranormal romance. Second chance troupe.
Harlow “Harry” Pierce is guardian and care giver to her teenage goddaughter, Grace. The teen has been accidentally setting things on fire, both at home and school. It’s a new power that she can’t control. Harry has tried getting help from supernatural groups all over without success. They don't know what kind of supernatural Grace is which isn’t helping. After a suspension from school and a fire in the apartment, Harry makes the decision to return to her magical hometown of Fates Haven, Colorado. She hopes the Alpha of the Rocky Mountain Pack can help Grace control her fire abilities.
Grace left her hometown more than thirteen years ago with a broken heart. She had expected Jaxon Atwood to be her Fated Match but when that didn’t happen, she left town with a spell that hid her from anyone trying to follow. Going back home will mean facing all those she left behind, including Jax, who still holds her heart.
@ I did a quick follow up read by audiobook which is narrated by Isabelle Ruther and Teddy Hamilton. I love these two narrators. Their performances are always entertaining and totally captivating and this book is no exception. The characters come to life in a slightly different way than I heard in my head the first time through which is also why I like to do the two formats together when possible. Emotions are ramped up and clearly felt in this audiobook as Harry and Jax reconnect, back off, and reengage. The teenage Grace is pure emotion and the surprises at the end are uplifting.
I did listen slightly higher than 1.5 to most closely match my reading and conversation speed.
Enchanting with lighthearted humor and emotional healing. A teen that misses her mother. A witch that doesn’t know her own impact. A hero that’s tried to find his mate over and over again. A town whose bakery loves the shock value of sex. A romance with a bit of magic.
I received a copy of this from NetGalley and Dreamscape Media.

Do you ever read the book summary and think, I must read this now? And do you ever start a book and know right away that it will be a favorite 5 star from the very beginning? I read this is one sitting, I loved it. In fact It was everything I want in a cozy fantasy. It was fun, adventurous, and sexy. Thank you Netgalley, Dreamscape Media, and April Asher for the ALC with my honest review. The author likes to say this book is Gilmore Girls meets Charmed. But its so much cuter and fun. Teddy Hamilton and Isabelle Ruther narrated the book. This is my first audio book with Isabelle and she was so good. I also may be of unpopular opinion as thinking Teddy Hamilton is not my die hard. So I do think that Isabelle Ruther could have read for the whole book as this was Dual Narration. I think I would have liked Duet style more so there wasn't two different male voices. Other than that, I loved the story, outcome, and audiobook.

April Asher has done it again—A Simple Twist of Fate is pure magical delight with a generous dose of heart. Set in a world where supernatural beings live together with insecurities and second chances, this story swept me off my feet from the very first page.
Romantic, funny, and surprisingly tender, this book strikes the perfect balance between charm and emotional depth. The chemistry between the leads is electric, and the banter is everything I hoped for. What really stood out was finding the courage to rewrite your own story—fate be damned.
If you enjoy witchy rom-coms with a touch of fate, found family, and a heroine who finally decides to bet on herself, this one is a must-read.
Thank you to St. Martin’s Press and NetGalley for the ARC!
Rating: 4.5 stars
Vibes: Witchy romance, second chances, fated love with a twist
For fans of: Lana Harper, Erin Sterling, or anyone who loves a little magic in their love stories.

I loved this story, the second chance romance twist of fate, Mia communication romance sounds chaotic but was actually really fun for the story. The side characters were so much fun, I hope they all get their own books. The main chasers simply adorable.
As for the narrators, Teddy Hamilton is always perfect and both narrators did a phenomenal job in bringing the story to life in a compelling way.

4.5 ⭐ 2 🌶️ 5 🎧
This was so much fun. I absolutely loved this world that April built and how it all came together. Harry and Jax were amazing together and the second chance, hate to love vibe that started this book was so perfect. Grace was a freaking peach and I absolutely adored her and the single guardian esque trope she brought with her.
I'm really hoping this is going to be a series because I need Cassie, Lenny, and Elodie's stories like I need air to breathe. I love this friend group so dang much.
The audio was perfect. Isabelle Ruther is new to me, but she did a wonderful job, especially paired with my fave Teddy Hamilton. I absolutely loved this listen.

✨ Net Galley Review✨ In my opinion, April Asher books are top tier. They have fae, shifters, witches, angels, vampires and pretty much anything else you can think of. All of her characters are sassy and fun and I LOVE THEM!! I really loved the plot line of this book. Our fmc is doing what she thinks is best for one of her friends daughters and leaves the town she loves and grew up in. Did I mention she also left her ex boyfriend? Right after he got fated with her best friend? The roller coaster you go on in this book is the best kind! I love all of April Asher’s books because they are so easy to read and grasp (the fantasy aspect). I highly recommend this book if you love a low stakes fantasy romance com!!

This was such a fun read!
Modern day Ron com with witch’s and shifters
Harlow is a witch and Jack is alpha of his pack. After a dating ceremony went wrong Harlow runs away for 13 years tho k Jack isn’t the man for her.
But with her new life with best friend cassie and her daughter grace they need to find graces real father to determine her what shifter abilities she has.
So where will she get her answers the last place she planned on going back home to ask the alpha for help.
Harlow is a great character she’s loving caring and just wants to be where ever her loved ones are
She has the same another we all have in life and worried her past will dictate her future
Jaxon is now alpha after his mum steps down and has never quite got over his long lost love (Harlow) not even he can keep his brooding up for long.
I was given the arc as audio and let me tell you, you know it’s going to be good if teddy Hamilton is narrating! He is just amazing voice actor and doesn’t get enough credit.
Isabelle also done a great job with Harlow she brought her to life!
Simply perfect and I loved every second of it
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

If you love stories about second chances, found family, and the kind of fated romance that defies even the trickiest twists of destiny, A Simple Twist of Fate is a must-read. April Asher has once again delivered a story that is just the right amount of supernatural, romance, and mystery. Five stars from me. For an added treat pick up the audiobook, Teddy Hamilton and Isabelle Ruther help bring this story to life, and you'll want to devour this book in one sitting. I can’t wait to see what comes next in this enchanting world. Until next time my friends, happy reading!

I loved this book! This book felt like a gentle hug from the Romantasy genre as a whole. The cast of characters was vibrant, and it was really easy to sink into this story and feel like I was exploring the town of Fates Haven with Harry and Grace. The second chance romance was a slow burning pining sort of relationship that absolutely kept me coming back to see what would happen next!
The dual narration was absolutely perfect! I loved both actors for Jaxon and Harry, they both really captured the voice of their respective characters wonderfully. The transitions between perspective mid-chapter were seamless and felt very natural, which was cool because I haven't seen that done in an audiobook up until this point!
Between the story and the narration I could not put this book down! I absolutely sailed through it, and would absolutely recommend it to anyone who loves Romantasy!

Summer hasn't even begun and this book has me ready for spooky szn. I love a good witchy book and a warm cozy small town romance. Adding those together with a shifter AND a mystery- I was hooked. Harry and Jax have such amazing chemistry and their relationship was fun. My favorite character was Grace! If this is a series I really hope we get a grace book when she is older because that girl was spunky and so adorable.

I love anything any everything Teddy Hamilton narrated and this book is no different. It was so fun and such an intriguing story!

I absolutely loved this book! It was a very engaging, funny read.
Harlow (Harry) has been traveling the country with her niece, Grace, seeking advice on how to control Grace's shifter tendencies. When she gets upset, she produces fire and has nearly burned down a number of places. Grace's mother goes on a quest to find Grace's father, but all that she knows about him is that his name is Luke (Grace was the product of a one night stand.). The hope is that by finding Luke, they can unlock the mystery of Grace's shifter abilities.
During a Finding Ceremony 13 years ago, Harry's teenage boyfriend, Jaxon, is matched with Harry's best friend. Harry flees with a broken heart. and never returned. She only returns as a last resort to seek guidance from Alpha Atwood, Alpha of the Rocky Mountain Pack, on how to control Grace's abilities. Alpha Atwood turns out to be Jaxon.
Jaxon and Harry do their best to avoid each other at first, but they cannot deny the chemistry between them. They never stopped loving each other. Now they have to work together to solve the mystery of Grace's true identity.

Teddy Hamilton could read me the back of the cereal box and I would swoon.
This was such a cute romance story. This felt like a true romance book vs a romantasy because the focus was on the characters and not the urban setting and all the different types of magical creatures. A swoony second chance love story 🥰
An absolute bonus that Teddy Hamilton is our male narrator. I’ll listen to any story with his voice.

This was quite the entertaining book to listen to! Fates Haven is definitely a one of a kind quirky town, complete with a fortune telling tattooist and a newly rebranded scandalous bakery, not to mention hot shifters, demons, vampires, and even an angel or two. It would be quite the fun place to visit, or return to as Harry has after staying away for 13 years. But she will do anything to help Grace figure out her shifting (before she burns everything to the ground!). Lots of humor but lots of angst as Jax and Harry reconnect then quite a bit of steam in between competing to be the winner of the games at the festival, finding Grace's dad, and fixing the whole fate problem that caused Harry to run away in the first place. No surprise that there is a happy ever after by the end, with fates fixed, lost dad found, and true love that doesn't need the help of a fate whisp to find. A lighthearted, humorous story that made me smile, laugh, and also cringe just a bit (I will admit, sometimes it was over the top and a bit more graphic and steamy than I had expected). But overall it was entertaining and fun to listen to.
The narrator did a good job of bringing Fates Haven to life, and the characters felt nicely real (and I am so envious of Grace and what she figures out about herself!). It was an enjoyable audiobook!

I’ve loved April Asher’s witchy rom-coms before, but A Simple Twist of Fate might just be my new favorite! From the charming, magically quirky town of Fates Haven to the emotionally charged romance between Harlow “Harry” Pierce and Jaxon Atwood, this story had me completely hooked from the first page.
I’m a sucker for the “coming back home when there’s nowhere else to go” trope, and this book does it SO well—especially because Harry isn’t just returning for herself. She’s coming back for Grace, the half-human, half-shifter teen she’s fiercely protective of. This guardianship subplot added so much heart to the story. Watching Harry fight for Grace’s well-being (even if it meant returning to the place that broke her heart) gave the book emotional depth and warmth that I adored.
And don’t even get me started on the romance! Harry and Jaxon are second-chance gold with “it’s always been you” energy pulsing through every interaction. The pining! The tension! The regret and hope tangled together in the most delicious way! Their chemistry practically shimmered off the page. Every look, every conversation, every moment had me completely invested in their journey back to one another.
Yes, some plot points felt a little predictable—but honestly? I didn’t even care. The world-building, the quirky side characters, the magical stakes, and the clear setup for future stories more than made up for it. I’m already desperate to return to Fates Haven and see what fate (and Asher!) has in store next.
Also, shoutout to the audiobook! I listened while reading and the performance blew me away. Teddy Hamilton was Jaxon—deep, broody, and utterly compelling—and Isabelle Ruther embodied Harry with the perfect blend of sass, heart, and vulnerability. I was annoyed anytime I had to stop listening, and this is 100% going on my list of audiobooks to recommend on repeat!
If you’re a fan of second chances, fated love, magical towns, and romance that sizzles and soothes in equal measure—A Simple Twist of Fate is a must-read (and must-listen)!

“A Simple Twist of Fate” is a cozy paranormal romance that will leave you in the end wanting more of this story. I did rate 5 stars, I would say it is a solid 4.5 stars and that is only because the beginning was a little slow for me and took a bit for me to get into, but once the story kicked into gear when Harry (Harlow the FMC) returned to her hometown of Fates Haven (cute small town vibes like a Stars Hollow or Middleton from The Good Witch) I was enjoying all the story had to offer, from the mystery of her goddaughter Cassie’s powers that matured into an awesome reveal, the friendships formed, romances blossoming, past loves reuniting, and magical beings, all mixed with a fun adventure revealing what happened to the fated of the town, this was a wonderful cozy romance read.
There are a few spicy scenes, not very long, but I do feel long enough and well placed, just enough to not over do it in this cozy story. The relationship between Harry and Jax was such a sweet one, it was one that I feel many of us would love to have, one where the passion extends periods of time and will make one swoon.

A second chance, small town, cosy paranormal rom-com with a shifter/witch pairing and show-stealing side characters hit the spot and ticked every single box for what I was hoping this audiobook would be! I had such a blast listening to this, and April Asher has once again delivered another fantastic hit.
Teddy Hamilton's narration was top tier as always - I always appreciate stumbling upon a rom-com with him as one of the narrators. Isabelle Ruther is a new name for me, but I really loved her voice, and her performance and comedic timing were perfect! I fell in love with Fates Haven and all its wonderful residents we met along the way. From the hilarious chapter titles to the innuendos and puns, this was a book where I found myself laughing out loud every other page. Everything from the humour, to the spice, to the depth and emotions was perfectly balanced, and I cannot wait for this to be a new addition to my shelves when published
Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for a copy of this ALC <3

I enjoyed the audio a lot Teddy Hamilton is my favorite male narrator so I will listen to anything he reads! But besides that I enjoyed this audio both the FMC and MMC. It flowed well and they really did a good job embodying the characters.
I have never read a book with this genre before. It was a witchy/shifter romance….and I enjoyed it! It was small town romance, small town with some spice thrown in. Overall I enjoyed it and would recommend it.
