Very cute. I’d been hoping to meet Jeremy for real after the little peeks in book one. I felt the constant reminders he was from a big family, one of 7 kids, etc got a bit overdone and tedious, but other than that I really enjoyed the book.

4⭐️ 3🌶

While I have read several books with LGBTQIAP+ side characters, this was my first M/M romance novel 🏳️‍🌈

This story was great and I loved the audiobook 🎧
Human x Werewolf? Yes, please! 🐺
Dual POV? Love it! 👬
Cat loving character? Absolutely! 🐈
Fated Mates?!? One of my all-time time favorite tropes! ✨️

If you're looking for a great fated mate romance with spice, magic, and LGBTQIAP+ aspects , this is the book for you!
Thank you Netgalley and Tantor Audio for the Audiobook.

Thank you to the team at Tantor Audio for allowing me to review this ARC audiobook.

I own several audiobooks produced by Tantor and let me tell you, this one does disappoint. The narrator Kirk Graves is not a name I recognized but after listening to this book, I’m going to see what other things he’s in. He did a really good job with both characters but his Jeremy character was chief kiss perfection. I’ll also be looking for more books written by Lori Ames after this. I don’t think I have laughed so much with a book in a long while. I was laughing pretty much from start to finish. I have not listened to / read the first book yet but now I definitely need to go back for book one. I believe it is Ash and Dillon’s story.

Me, being me, can’t write a review without commenting on its spicy content. I don’t rate with factions or points. It is not quite a level three chili pepper but probably more than two. I’ll be giving it 3 chilis in my book journal but with a star by it. It is open-door so you do get some explicit dirty scenes but that is not the main focus of the story. The author did not shy away from foul language but it did not stand out as ultra vulgar either.

Until next time, happy reading everyone

This audio book was so much fun. The narrator brought the story to life, and I enjoyed it more than I would have reading it. I give the book 4/5 stars. The extra boost to the rating is due to the enjoyment I had listening to this narrator.

I enjoyed hearing this audiobook. I laughed a lot, and the story was good.
The problem? I write my reviews a day or two after I finish reading, which gives me time to collect my thoughts and provide a more thorough review. I couldn't do that in this case. I realized that I remembered the characters, but the story was fading from my memory.
I am curious about what will happen next, but if I had a physical book, I know I would not finish this saga.

When I saw this book, I immediately borrowed book one and loved it! Book two did not disappoint! I absolutely love Jeremy and all his questions. I’m going to need more books in this series!!

I was able to listen to this as an audio. This is also a MM romance. Our first male main character is a mundane and is trying to figure out where and what to do with his life. Our second male main character is a wolf shifter That has a job as a basically supernatural cop when our two MMC‘s cross paths and their story goes from there with trials and ain’t and some black in self-esteem, but just a smidge that is fixed with the proper communication. Our first male main character is a cat dad, which is funny cause he ends up with a werewolf.

Jeremy is a bit naive but hilarious and wants to be a writer. He works for a goblin, but didn’t know she was a goblin dealing in stolen artifacts. His best friend is Ash whom he texts frequently. Jeremy also has a unique imagination. Adrian is a werewolf his job is finding stolen artifacts for an organization with other supernaturals. This story has plenty of twists and turns, unusual happenings that is fun to read or listen too.

This was a good addition to this series. I loved Jeremy from the first book when he would text Ash just random things, like "Do you think a skilled barber could groom a sasquatch will enough that people would just think he was a really hairy man?" He cracked me up to no end. He is an author who is trying to get a paranormal book written & he still text's Ash random questions in this book as well. What he doesn't know is the paranormal world is real. Poor Jeremy can't seem to get just one of his 59 unfinished books finished. Nor can he seem to hold down a job. When he gets a new job, what he doesn't know that he is about to be introduced to the paranormal world. Adrian is a werewolf & when he meets Jeremy, there is just something about that human that pushes his buttons. When Jeremy finds out what Ardian in, he has a million & one questions. These two made a cute couple. So, in the first book, a bunch of magical artifacts get stolen, in this book we get some of them back. We also meet more characters that I totally enjoyed. Gage is breaking my heart. He needs to find a place to connect with, he could go insane. I'm so glad that the next book is Gage's, and we get to see him get his HEA. He is one of the sweetest demons ever.

I was gratefully given an opportunity to read/listen to this book for free for an honest review. Normally, I am hesitant because sometimes the stories aren't the greatest and I hate to give discouraging feedback.

Luckily, this is not the case with this book. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. It is the second book in the series and I was very entertained from the beginning to the end. The characters are great as well as the narration. I also love it when we revisit old characters and have continuity in a series. This was an awesome listen and I cannot wait to hear the next book.

This book had me rolling with laughter the entire time and before I knew what happened the audio was done, and I was left sitting there wanting more of this cool magical town.

I identified a lot with Jeremy in this book as I too would be wanting to take notes and ask a million questions to understand the way that the magical world operates. Plus, I also would never let my friend live it down that they were magical and never told me.

The narration was impeccable and loved hearing the distinctive and emotion filled voices of the characters as I read the book. I felt like I was sitting a part of the team hunting for magical objects and saving cats.

If you love a good paranormal romance with humor, found family, and a town full of secrets then this book and series is for you!

Hellhounds Never Lie and Wolves Always Bite by Lori Ames review
4.25 and 4.5 stars

I was hooked the moment I started the first book. This series is totally up my alley. I love paranormal romance with the fated-mates trope, especially MM romance, especially EPECIALLY MM paranormal romance narrated by Kirt Graves. I really enjoyed the unique combination of paranormal beings, or supes as the book calls them. Some are typical—shifters, vampires, mages, and demons. But some less common—hellhounds, necromancers, oracles, mermen, minotaurs, centaurs, goblins, etc… There were even a few supes that I actually haven’t heard of before, which is surprising for me since I’ve read so much paranormal romance. Also, the lore and world building are different from other paranormal romances I’ve read. As well, even with some of the more common supes. While there are a good number of characters, it’s very easy to keep track of who is who.

In terms of the audio aspect of the book itself, anything with Kirt Graves narrating gets my immediate approval. I typically like listening to books with duet narration best, except if it’s narrated by a few narrators, Kirt being one of them. Sometimes duet narration books can sound almost choppy and piecemeal. But Kirt’s voices are easily distinguishable from each other, and when he does the voices for all the characters, I can trust that the book will sound smooth and seamless. I’m hoping the next audiobook will be available on NetGalley soon!

As an avid spicy audiobook reader I have been trying to find a book with more of a supernatural twist without being too cringy. In walks Lori Ames and Wolves always Bite.

The plot was fun and didn’t follow the typical tropes I kept coming across. The narrator was fun to listen to. I always judge a book by if it makes me want to go find the author and narrators back catalog to listen to and this did :)

This is an audiobook review.

I really enjoyed this book.
Great world building, intriguing supernatural beings and magic.
Jeremy and Adrian were really sweet and adorable together.
Lots of hilarity and unexpected twists and turns.
Kirt Graves did an amazing job narrating and bringing these characters to life.

4.5/5 This book introduces us to a whole new group of fascinating characters to add to the Willow Lake crew, as well as an even bigger mystery than what is going on with stolen magical artefacts. This is a well-built world with a ton to supernatural beings and some complex connections and histories.

Jeremy was a delight. It was lovely to finally meet him in person and watch the entertaining way he learned about and reacted to the supernatural world. I liked how he and Adrian interacted, how well they got along and wanted to take care of one another. There were a couple occasions where Jeremy was a little too impulsive for me, but it does seem to fit with his personality. I loved how much Jeremy loved Clawie and how Adrian never questions it.

I can’t wait to spend more time with these characters, see more of them find their HEAs, and get to the bottom of the over-arching mystery plot.

Kirt did an awesome job bringing the characters to life. I especially enjoyed his Jeremy!

I received an ALC from NetGalley. This is my honest review.

MM Romance
Fated Mates
4 Stars ⭐️

🎵Narrated by Kirt Graves🎵 One of my favorite narrators and he slayed this. 💗

This is an ALC, advanced listening copy, that I received from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Ok, first of all, it’s clear that I should have started with book one in the series because even though I could follow along and understood everything, it was obvious I was supposed to know Jeremy’s best friend Ash & his fated mate Dillion from the previous book. I have a feeling reading it now will be hilarious though because it was also obvious that Ash had been hiding supernaturals from Jeremy since they were kids and due to Jeremy’s inquisitive nature, I can only imagine the lies Ash had to come up with to keep Jeremy in the dark. That said, even without reading book one first I had a great time with this and am smitten with these characters. This book felt like a warm hug and made me laugh out loud several times. I also think it’s funny I keep stumbling upon Anubis shifters and each time Kirt Graves is the narrator.

So this is about human Jeremy and his Anubis shifter, fated mate Adrian and the wild adventure they go on when they fatefully meet. Adrian works with other supes who are hired to search for magic artifacts that are stolen or misplaced and this leads him to a flea market where he meets Jeremy. Jeremy has no idea supes exist but as a wannabe MM author specializing in paranormal romance, he is ecstatic to learn that they are real. The questions he asked Adrian and his team made me cackle especially their reactions to them. Magical jizz? Say what? 🤣 His reaction at learning knotting was a real thing was fantastic and hot 🥵 Jeremy reminded me of Simon from Jaclyn Osborn’s Galen and since I loved that character it makes sense I adored Jeremy.

I cannot wait for the rest of this series to drop on audio because I really enjoyed this but I definitely will go back to the beginning and start with Ash and Dillion’s story. A fire mage and a hell hound? Yes please!

Edited for audio- Kirt Graves is one of my favorite narrators and he does an amazing job with this book.
I love Jeremy! He is my absolute favorite new character! His questions had me snorting. Plus the adorableness of a big, buff werewolf brought to stammering and blushes by a mere human? Too cute! Lots of fun and I loved the greater world building in this book.

Jeremy & Adrian

I got hooked on this series with book one. This book has definitely kept my interest and has me anxious to see what happens next. The audiobook for this one had me enjoying the story even more. I loved the narration by Kirt Graves.

Super enjoyable. Kirt Graves’ narration is terrific and completely on point. In addition to making the story and characters really come to life, he gave each character a distinct voice without resorting to stereotypes or exaggerated accents or mannerisms. I read and enjoyed 2 earlier volumes from this series (prequel and #1), as ebooks. The audiobook just made it much more fun. I will continue to seek out both author and narrator.

First, let me just say that Kirt Graves is one of my most favorite narrators for audiobooks. He brings characters to life in ways that I can’t even describe. He worked his magic again with this one, and it is just perfect.

Jeremy is a great character, so curious about the world he has stumbled into, and about the wolf who has captured his attention. I love how creative Jeremy is. Adrian is also a great character, with a past story that has helped shape him into the character he is. When we finally hear his story, it just makes so many things about him make sense.

The world that Ms. Ames has created is believable, a great melding of urban fantasy/paranormal with modern day.

This series is best read in order, as there is an overall story arc that begins in the first book, and remains unfinished. The story is serious, but with just the right amount of humor and fun, mostly because of Jeremy.

I really enjoyed this book, and I’m very much looking forward to the rest of the series.
