Such a fun read. A little silly a little campy a little hot and a lot of fun. Great narration which adds to the humor of the book. Fans of the Greencreek series will enjoy this book

"Wolves Always Bite" by Lori Ames offers a delightful romp into the world of urban fantasy, following Jeremy, an author whose mundane life gets a serious shake-up when a handsome werewolf named Adrian saves him from his goblin boss(WHOA).
The premise is charming, blending a love for fantasy with a blossoming MM romance and a dash of thrilling adventure as Jeremy navigates the supernatural world and plots a daring cat rescue. However, as an audiobook, it occasionally stumbled for me personally; while the story itself is engaging and humorous, the narrator's voice choices sometimes threw me for a loop, making it a little difficult to settle into the narrative at times. Despite these minor audio hiccups, the charming characters and exciting plot make it a fun listen for fans of lighthearted paranormal romance.

This book could probably be read without book one but I think there is enough crossover that you would benefit from reading it first - and it's good so why not? Jeremy is Ash's best friend who we meet in book one but the cast of characters is different. The crossover comes when these guys end up in Willow Lake where Ash and the rest of the PNR crew live.
Jeremy is cute and gregarious but not over the top, which was surprising and refreshing. He is also extremely inquistive about the supernatural world, even though he thinks it's not real. He discovers it is in a wild way when he finds out he's working for a goblin and saved by a warewolf. I have to admit, I was surprised by a goblin character - it was my first.
Adrian takes Jeremy's questions in stride and sets out to protect him at all costs from the moment he meets him. I always love a good wolf story and Adrian is a big softy wolf. He is part of a team of misfits who I cannot wait to learn more about.
The audio is great - I just love Kirt Graves!

I can beyond relate to Jeremy! I would want to hook me a supernatural man! I loved his personality and all his song references to situations and need to google facts! He would be a great writer in the real world! How he wanted the things he read in his MM romances to be real. This is a standalone romance, but this is definitely written as a binge worthy series since the characters keep building and interacting with each book. Jeremy's antics and the way Adrian interacted and reacted with him kept me smiling and laughing. This was a supernatural Rom Con of sorts! Fun chemistry and little bit of spice! Kirt Graves narration was perfection. He just has that voice that brings out exaggerated nerd fun!

I couldn't come up with much that I liked in this book. It was cheesy and seemed to just get cheesier the longer I read it.
I will say, though, that the wolf shifter, Adrian, was well developed, but Jeremy was a giant cheese ball. While I think the author was trying to make this a rom com, it didn't come across as that for me.
Kirt Graves did a great job of bringing all the characters to life.
I'd like to thank NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book.

Loved this story so much it was a m/m werewolf romance but there are so many supernatural creatures that make an appearance it was fun and twisty and romantic and spicy it was well narrated as well

Audiobook review with updated safety information:
I read a digital ARC of this book a while back and enjoyed it a lot, so I applied for the audio ARC asap when I saw it. I think Kirt Graves took these characters and really elevated the story. He nailed Jeremy’s inquisitive and funny personality, and made me enjoy the book more this time around. Jeremy is definitely an over the top kinda character, so eyeball reading doesn’t always translate the way narration can. I had forgotten how much I enjoy these easy, unique supernatural books.
Thankfully a second read also meant I could finally get a proper list of content warnings too, since I lost most of that info after my initial read. Original review below.
Thank you to NetGalley for this audio ARC.

This book, just like book 1, was highly entertaining. I didn’t love it *as* much, simply because I didn’t dig the main characters as much, but it was still really, really good. I very much enjoy the magical world Lori has created, and I’m looking forward to the third book. I adore shifter books, and even though the shifter MC in this was just a ‘regular’ wolf shifter, the rest of the world it’s set in is very unique, and I can’t imagine confusing this series with any other paranormal series. It’s delightfully original somehow.

This was real… and werewolves were real too. But who in the world named their werewolf son Adrian?
"And is your werewolf jizz magical?" The truck jerked as Adrian jolted and rocked the steering wheel. The werewolf sputtered. "What did you just say?"
Jeremy blinked, seeming to come back to himself, and turned to me. "Are you growling right now?" I coughed and pretended to clear my throat. On the other side of the motorhome, Teague and Nelson exchanged cash.
“You’re sure he didn’t hurt you?” the wolf—Adrian—asked as he bounded over to me and licked my hand. “I’m sure.” I wanted to scratch behind his ears like I would a dog. Was that demeaning?

I was not a fan of the narrator- I found his voice to be a little annoying. The story was interesting but I haven't read the first books in the series so I feel I missed some of the references. There was a lot of action and quite a bit of violence. Solid 3 star overall.

Overall 5 STARS

I was laughing from start to finish in this fun paranormal romance. Once again Kirt Graves did a spectacular job narrating and I thought he matched Jeremy’s excited, quirky, and inquisitive qualities perfectly.
I think it would be awesome to find out that magic really does exist and the mythical creatures we read about are not fictional after all! I connected with Jeremy on so many levels because I live with my head in the clouds too, my brain is going non stop and he just had me giggling non stop.
I have not listened / read the first book so now I need to go back for Ash and Dillon’s story and I am looking forward to the rest of the series as well!

Thank You for this story!

As always, Tantor Audio has produced a wonderfully narrated, incredibly sexy audio book. I might have a bias because they record some of the hottest, most exciting audiobooks I've listened to, and Wolves Always Bite did NOT disappoint. Lori Ames does a fantastic job of creating charming characters that you just can't help but adore! The pacing was masterful as well. The action scenes (by which I mean fight scenes) was super fun to listen to, as were the mature action scenes.
I could not stop listening to this book. Ames writing and Kirk Graves narration were just so captivating. I cannot wait to start recommending this to my library patrons. I already know that the waitlist is going to be filling up fast.

Fantastic addition to the series! Poor Jeremy has the shock of his life when he’s thrown into the paranormal world. However, having hunky Adrian around definitely helped him ease into it lol. Jeremy was a whole lot of fun - he took things well and went with the flow.
Adrian and Jeremy were sweet and hot together. Their chemistry was insane and hot.
I really enjoyed the narrator’s performance.

Narrator: Kirt Graves
Rating: 4.5/5 stars
Thank you to NetGalley and RBmedia for providing me with a copy of this audiobook in return for an honest review.
With funds getting low, aspiring author Jeremy takes on a part time job with the grumpy antiques trader, Babette, as a sales assistant at weekend markets. When he sells a bunch of new merchandise to the handsome Adrian, he finds himself pulled into a paranormal sting operation and needing to go into hiding, where he finds out many of his favourite fantasy genre species are real.
Kirt Graves has narrated some of my favourite books and did an excellent job with this delightful little romance, easily bringing the multiple characters to life.
What I liked: This was a fun read! The characters were cute and quirky but not in an over the top way, well Jeremy kind of was, but as I saw a lot of myself in him he totally got a pass. Jeremy’s inner dialogue was a hoot, especially his ongoing comparisons between real life paranormals and those from fiction. The plot was well done, and the romance was sweet. I was totally sucked into the world and I joined up to Lori Ames' newsletter so I could get the free prequel book of the series along with a short story based on Jeremy and Adrian.
What didn’t work for me:
So I’ve given it 5 stars through all the official sites as I really did love it. My only real issue is that I didn’t know it was a 2nd in a series and while it can be read as a stand alone it gives a big spoiler for the first book. Also it took way too long for Jeremy to remember he owns a cat for my liking!
Final thoughts: A joyful paranormal m/m romance.
Who would enjoy this: Fans of paranormal romances that don’t take themselves too seriously. Though I would recommend readers read the series in order to avoid spoilers.

I loved everything about this book. These two guys were actually made for each other. Fated mates are not found that often but Adrien and Jeremy are fated to be together. All of the different supernatural’s that Jeremy can now see because he was saved by Adrien (a werewolf). I definitely recommend this book to everyone who loves mm romance stories with some supernatural characters.

This one was a mixed bag for me.
I still love Lori Ames's magical community-filled paranormal world, but this book's romance and character dynamics didn’t click.
The MC was nosy, loud, constantly intrusive, and asked too many inappropriate questions. These characteristics were framed as cute and endearing, but it grated on me. The romance leaned hard on insta-love (thanks to the mating bond), but it didn’t feel earned without emotional buildup.
🎙️ What saved it? The narrator.
Their performance added warmth, humor, and depth to the characters absent on paper. I don’t think I would’ve made it through without the narration.

Audiobook - excellent narration, fitting the characters well.
Story - 4 stars. I really enjoyed Jeremy and his rambling thoughts. The author must have spent quite some time thinking out all the theories about paranormal beings and whether they were correct or not in this particular world. Adrian and he were particularly good for each other. A good blend of humour and serious action with a great cast of characters.

I loved the book. It was different than I expected, but it worked. My only complaint is that I felt it ended too soon. I was ready to keep the story going. I do wish there was exploration of Jeremy speaking with his dad about the seventh son of a seventh son. It was touched on quickly by Jeremy remembering child bedtime stories his dad told him, but I would have liked to see that part expanded.

This was another "new to me" audio ARC that was apparently already a part of a series. I do not think I missed much, since this was only the second book - but there were several times that I realized that things were being discussed that had occurred in a prior book.
The word that comes to mind with this book was "quirky" - and honestly, that isn't really the word I'm looking for but my brain can't seem to provide the word I want. This story did have a couple of magical moments.
The MMC Jeremy is a human who is an aspiring author. He tries to write in the M/M paranormal romance genre (PNR) but can never seem to find endings for his stories. So, he just considers himself a "writer" and not an "author" since he has never yet published anything. He wishes with all of his heart that supernaturals and fated mates were actually "a thing". The thing about Jeremy is that his character is what makes this book. As I mentioned before- there are shining moments....hilarious moments - all moments with Jeremy. The things that come out of his mouth....I actually laughed out loud several times.
But, unfortunately, that is really the one bright spot in the book. The writing is choppy, the pacing inconsistent and the plot - well, let's just say that this felt like one of the stories that Jeremy seemed to struggle with. Where he created these great characters, started off with a plan, then everything went off the rails and he decided to just wing it....but then couldn't figure out where to go from there.
The storyline unfolds when Jeremy finds himself in the middle of a supernatural "situation" and discovers that YEP werewolves, and goblins and everything else he has ever read about is really real. Not to mention the sexy werewolf that seems to be drawn to him as they are thrown into some dangerous drama. And the fated mate thing.....that is real too :)
Is there some massive insta-love? Yep. Is it realistic? Not really. Is the storyline just a bit OTT? Yep. With all of that said, it is still a fun story if you go into it with the expectation of reading or listening to a quick and easy story that doesn't require too much mental concentration and has moments of hilarity. If you have a free afternoon and have a couple of hours to fill, it might just be the thing for you.
Since this was an audio ARC- I need to mention that this was narrated by Kirk Graves. He is a constant narrator in this genre and he is consistently good - at least in my opinion. This book was no different.
Thank you to NetGalley and Tantor Audio for the opportunity to listen to and review this ARC. This book will be out for publication on May 27, 2025.

I love this series I own every book and when I seen the audios coming out I got even more excited. This was such a good one and I think Kirt did a wonderful job bringing these characters to life. I can't wait for the rest of them to come out.

This was a fun, interesting story that had twist and turns to keep you entertained. The main characters were written with depth, had interesting back stories, and brought great side characters into the story. The romance was great and the overall story was really well written.
As for the narrator, the pacing was good and the voice acting was interesting and varied which made the story even better.

Loved Jeremy and Adrian, but especially Jeremy. It builds from the first book, where we are introduced to Ash, Jeremy's BFF.
The world Lori Ames builds is filled with wonderful (and some not so wonderful) supes, and like Jeremy, I am fascinated by the different people and their powers.
Jeremy is an aspiring writer who gets up close and personal with supes when he has to be rescued from his goblin employer,(soon to be ex-employer. The quitting scene is funny). His rescuer, Adrian introduces him to his team (more supes). They make their way to Willow Lake, where Ash, Jeremy's BFF lives - their reunion is hilarious! They, and the others help with an ongoing investigation, during which Adrian is told tha Jeremy is his mate. They get their HEA, but the Willow Lake issue continues.
The narration by Kirt Graves is great, really enjoyed listening to him portray the different characters. He made it a great way to enjoy the story. Definitely recommend!
