I was lucky enough to receive an audiobook review copy of 'Wolves Always Bite' and I am really glad I decided to buy and listen to the first book in the series, 'Hellhounds Never Lie,' before listening to this one. Even though this book focuses on an entirely new couple, Jeremy (who is introduced in the first book) & Adrian, the couple from the first book (Ash & Dillon) are present for a significant part of this second book as well, and there are several pertinent plot elements that are first introduced in Book 1.
This series had been on my radar and I'm glad receiving this review copy gave me the push I needed to finally start listening to it/reading it as I am really enjoying this series, especially this second audiobook. Jeremy is thoroughly entertaining and there is an underlying mystery going on that I am looking forward to seeing resolved in future audiobooks, which are slated for release in the next few months.
The audiobook is great. I knew I was definitely interested in listening to it when I saw it was narrated by Kirt Graves. He has such a soothing voice that I find both relaxing and entertaining at the same time. It's dulcet enough to be pleasing but interesting enough to be captivating and engaging, and he can definitely play up the humor when it's required.
I highly recommend the audiobooks. I'll be reading the prequel book next and listening the rest of the audiobooks as they are released.

OMG! I didn't think this series or book could get any better but I was wrong. Bringing in Kirt Graves to narrate this fun story made my second time around even more enjoyable. I love Kirt's voice and he brought these characters to life. I loved everything about this... now I need to go back and get book 1, in audio, so I can fall in love with Ash and Dillon all over again as well. I can't wait to listen to all these books. Lori Ames is amazing and I can't wait for the new spin-off series, Willow Lake Pack.
This is my original review dated 11/1/23 from when I read the book via an ARC:
This series just keeps getting better and better. With each book I think it can't get any better but somehow it does. I'm so glad that I found this series via an ARC opportunity on Booksprout. Lori Ames is a new to me author that I'll definitely be keeping an eye on.
What's not to love about Jeremy. He's quirky, he's Ash's "Bestest BFF 4ever", he has 6 older brothers, he's scrappy, he's a writer, and if he can ever finish/publish one of his 56 stories he can become an author. Then we have sweet Adrian. The protector, the hot sexy wolf shifter who can shift while wearing clothes, much to Jeremy's dismay 😉.
The mystery of the stolen magical artifacts continues. We meet "Adrian's merry band of magical peeps" who are hunting down the stolen artifacts. There's a lot of bad guys doing really bad things and everyone gets involved.
I can't wait for the next book, I hate to wait... the next book isn't due out till February 😥. Lori did mention, at the end of this book, a Jeremy/Adrian short story that will be released to her newsletter subscribers. I guess that will just have to tide me over.
I think it's important to read these stories in order to understand and enjoy this magical world Lori has created. I started with book 0, Ravens Never Fall, a prequel that takes place 12 years in the past. This too is a freebie to newsletter subscribers. It just makes sense to read everything the author writes in a series to enjoy that series to the fullest.

If you loved reading this series, the audio takes it to a whole new level level. The vocals are smooth and perfectly emotive to the text. I have listened to several series in audio that the voice actors grated on my nerves and just didn't do it justice, but this series is one of the best I have heard. I truly wish there was a way to make this into a video series, but the next best thing is these vocals, it truly lets you imagine the characters more fully. I can't wait for the rest of the series to come out. Thank you Lori Ames for the great content!!

Love, danger and fantasy
I loved this supernatural small town, “damsel” in distress, healing romance. Despite the element of slight danger, the story was such a warm and happy read for me. It is a heartwarming and spicy story with two intense, strong and passionate characters. Adrian and Jeremy are portrayed as real, relatable people who have flaws, but are really just trying to do their best as messy beings. Adrian is a growly, protective wolf shifter who works for a demon led task force for the Supernatural Council, protecting the Eternal Magic and the secrecy of supernaturals while investigating supernatural related crimes. Jeremy is a quirky, talkative struggling paranormal author who has yet to finish writing his first book. To make ends meet, he takes a part-time job helping to sell at flea markets and swap meets. When Adrian discovers stolen magical items at Jeremy’s table and Jeremy’s boss is unveiled as a goblin, Jeremy’s life takes an unexpected sharp left turn and he finds himself plucked out of his normal life. What follows their unlikely meeting, is a wonderful journey of baggage unpacking, inner voice finding, and life course correction with a side of evil and danger. I especially loved Jeremy’s internal dialogue and romance story building. This story was well written and included witty dialogue, good world building, three dimensional characters who grow, and an engaging storyline. I love this little town and am excited to read more in the series. 4.5 stars.
Kirt Graves did a phenomenal job narrating the story and characters into life with enough change of inflection, tone and cadence to voice multiple characters quite convincingly.

This was a fun one too listen to.
It was cheesy but fun.
Many thanks to Net Galley and Tantor Audio for an audio ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

~~~ Audiobook Review ~~~
You can technically read this book without reading the first one, but I highly recommend reading the series in order because they are connected in a way. Jeremy is Ash’s best friend and both Ash and Dillion (Book 1) appear and take part in this book which takes place after the events of book 1.
Jeremy and Adrian are super cute together. How they met was super interesting and I was very curious to see how Adrian was going to pull off his plan of taking Jeremy away from his boss without him being suspicious. Turns out, Jeremy is a little too trusting toward hot guys who he has a thing for, lol.
Jeremy’s name for what, I already forgot her name, his boss is (as a species) is hilarious. Despite the fact that he finds out what she is, he still continues to call her by what he named what she is, lol.
I was hoping for a little more of an ending. Since the books are already out, I already know that Gage gets his story and my assumption is that the answers I was hoping to get by the end will be answered in his book. Since I’m a slow reader and these books are super long for me, I will sadly have to wait for the audio to come out until I can get my answers. I am very curious to know more about Gage (and Simon) so I’ll be happy when I can listen to their stories.
Overall, it’s a great series. I’m the type of person who usually likes to wait until the entire series is out before I start it, and while technically it doesn’t end on a cliffhanger, at least in regards to Jeremy and Adrian’s relationship, there are parts of the overall plot that you won’t find out until I’m assuming either Gage or Simon’s book. Definitely recommend the series though.
I'm so torn on my rating with this one. SO I'll just leave it at 3 stars because the beginning had me giggling and Jeremy deserves it. He carried this book. The way the plot in this book is set up made me think this is an interconnected series with an overarching plot. It seems to have extended from book one not to the point of confusion, but I think if you were to pick up any of the other books beyond this one it could get confusing. That is if it continues into the next few books. The book ends with the plot kind of open ended but the relationship gets its HEA.
The relationship timeline was (I believe, if I was comprehending it right) like 4 days? Definitely less than a week. And this is from start to finish. This is just one of those books you shouldn't look too deep at and just read it for the fun that it is. I honestly adored Jeremy's character though. He was very free in his thoughts, questions, and personality. The relationship between Jeremy and Adrian was very fast paced and a little dorky at times. I have mixed feelings about it.
The narrator, Kirt Graves, performed this well. With a wide range of tones/voices, it felt like a one-person dramatization. Which fit perfectly for this kind of story with multiple characters.
It was a tiny bit cheesy, but it was an MM paranormal romance, and the cover did kind of forecast that, so I knew what I was getting into. I had a good time either way.
Wolves Always Bite is the second book in the series about a human, Jeremy, who is oblivious to the magic and supernatural around him, and Adrian, a werewolf who has dedicated his life to a Demon.
Jeremy got a new job selling flee market stuff for this weird woman, who turns out to be a Goblin, who was selling stolen magical items. Adrian, who was part of a group sent to find the stolen goods, finds them with Jermey who is just happy to see a hot guy flirting with him. He gets the stolen goods and Jeremy out of there but not before revealing the magic and now Jeremey’s eyes are wide open!
Tropes:
MM Romance
Small town romance
Paranormal romance
Werewolf/human
Bunch of pop culture references
Curious, slightly ADHD MC
Brooding, lonely werewolf
Protective MC
Kidnapped Cat
I loved this book and this series so much, so I was happy to come back to listen to the audible.
It’s narrated by Kirt Graves, who narrated the first book. He has a lovely voice and it’s consistent through the book. If I had one complaint it’s the fact his MCs have the same voice and so whenever I paused the audiobook to do something and come back, sometimes I forgot what POV I was on. Just needed something more to separate their voices! Other than that, he did a fabulous job and I enjoyed the book all over again!
Love it! 😍💕
I’m usually a little leery of the audiobook version of a title I enjoy reading but this one did not disappoint. Kirt Graves did a fantastic job narrating the story and really brought the MCs to life. It was like the best version of the characters voices I imagined when I first read the book.
I just finished Wolves Always Bite, and it really surprised me—in the best way. The story had me hooked from the beginning with its intriguing supernatural mystery. We still didn’t get all the answers about why the goblin stole the artificials or how exactly the wolves fit into it all, but that lingering tension actually worked in the book’s favor. It kept the pace moving and held my interest the whole way through.
What really stood out, though, was the romance. The bonding and mating scenes were intimate and romantic without ever feeling forced. Jeremy and Adrian had that kind of chemistry that felt both believable and fun—sweet moments, a little spice, and a dynamic that just made sense. Adrian, in particular, was a standout: the perfect blend of grumpy, blushing, and fiercely protective. I completely understood why Jeremy fell for him.
Jeremy himself was a lovable mess—charming but impulsive. There were definitely moments where he didn’t think things through, but that added to his authenticity. I also really enjoyed getting to know Adrian’s crew, especially his boss, who had a ton of personality. Gage’s group of supernaturals was another great touch—adding depth to the world and teasing what’s coming next in the series.
If I had to nitpick one thing, it’d be the whole “7th son” bit. It felt a little random—like it was thrown in without enough setup. Maybe it’ll play a bigger role in later books, but here, it stuck out just a bit.
And of course, Kirt Graves absolutely nailed the narration. His performance was pitch-perfect—witty, warm, and expressive. He gave Jeremy and Adrian so much life, and really elevated the entire story. His voice was made for this fast-paced, quirky, emotional kind of romance.
Overall, Wolves Always Bite was a strong installment—equal parts heartfelt, spicy, and intriguing. I loved the characters, I’m invested in the mystery, and I’m definitely on board for whatever comes next.
**Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for a free audio ARC in exchange for an honest review.**
Me encantó conocer nuevos personajes y adentrarme aun más en este mundo de fantasía urbana que ha creado la autora, si bien están bastante centrados en el romance no deja de lado la trama y personajes secundarios, integranto todo de forma muy agradable.
Jeremy siemplemente está viviendo el sueño de muchas lectoras de romance paranormal y me encantó leer como sucedió todo y estar dentro de su cabeza. La verdad amo este tipo de romances sanos rodeados de elementos de magia pero no tan angustiosos y que a la vez se mantienen super interesantes a lo largo de todo el libro, definitivamente voy a continuar con la serie.
El libro esta narrado por Kirt Graves, que es uno de mis narradores favoritos de este género de libros y nunca decepciona.
I loved this so much! Jeremy is hilarious and honestly I feel a kinship with him. I would 100% be the same as him if I was in this situation. I loved the relationship growing between these two and fated mates was a fun aspect as well. The narration was beautifully done as well. I have to go back and read book one..
I had the absolute pleasure of getting early access to the audiobook ARC of Wolves Always Bite, and let me tell you—this one howled its way straight into my heart. 😍🔥
First things first: Kirt Graves absolutely nails the narration. His performance is tailor-made for this kind of quirky, fast-paced, laugh-out-loud paranormal romance. He breathes life into Jeremy and Adrian, giving their chemistry even more sparkle💫
Jeremy might just be one of my favorite protagonists in recent memory. He’s a total sweetheart with a chaotic curiosity that had me laughing out loud and rooting for him from page one. The man is out here asking every supernatural being every question (some of which would make a vampire blush), carrying a book bag like it’s a weapon of mass destruction, and trying to seduce a werewolf—not just for “research,” obviously. 😉
Then there’s Adrian. Swoon. The perfect blend of grumpy, blushing, and fiercely protective. I adored how their relationship felt so authentic—it wasn’t insta-love, it was earned, and the emotional beats really landed. I honestly didn’t expect to be so invested, but here I am.
And let’s give some love to Lori Ames, shall we? For a newer voice in the MM genre, she’s absolutely crushing it. As someone who devours 5–6 books a week and has a pretty exclusive “auto-buy” list, Lori is climbing her way to the top of it. Her writing is sharp, heartfelt, and effortlessly entertaining.
✨ If you love chaotic human cinnamon rolls, blushing werewolves, magical hijinks, and a plot that actually keeps you guessing—this one’s for you. Pour yourself a drink, cozy up with your headphones, and prepare to fall in love. Because Wolves Always Bite… but in the best way possible. 💘🐾
